Jimmy Fallon is known for being a sweet genuine guy ever since the very first episode of his show, which is why he has celebs that comeback to his show time and time again..but think bts are truly good friends with Jimmy and have a good bond

I think Corden's joke was in poor taste knowing the constant stereotypes thrust upon ARMYs. And I'm glad Joon defended us. But I was more pissed off that he chose to give a platform to the most toxic in the fandom by calling them out on national television in front of BTS. Like he knows better. ARMY has done SO MUCH for him. For his ratings, for his charities, for him personally...and he torpedoed all of that by accusing our fandom of making death threats on national television in front of BTS. It was accusatory and defamatory and totally graceless. For that--not the jokes, not the cringe-y groping of Jimin, not the way he only pronounces their names right half the time--I wrote him off. Jimmy Fallon on the other hand is a national treasure and we love him. I've never seen a host treat the boys more respectfully and naturally. And they clearly love him too. Jimin and Yoongi went back to his show...no one else's. I also really liked Trevor Noah. I like him generally. I think ARMYs felt some type of way about the Grammy's generally spending a lot of time on BTS including by having Trevor interview them mid-show and mention them a bunch and then turning around and giving the award to someone else (I know I did--especially bc in the post-grammy vlive the boys said they thought they were getting the award bc Trevor came and talked to them). But that's not on Trevor. And I thought his Squid Game joke was timely and clever. I get that late night show hosts are comedians and will make jokes. But when they do it to western stars, there's not a power imbalance so it never feels like they're punching down. It does with BTS. Not bc BTS isn't powerful, but because BTS aren't on equal footing on the playing field. So it feels like cheap shots coming from a place of condescension. Late Night hosts who can make jokes that genuinely feel good-natured are the real deal. Also, I liked Stephen too because he (with j-hope's charismatic help) gave us that great "Hey Jude" sing-a-long Beatles moment and then showed the clip to Paul McCartney and gave us the excellent legendary moment of Paul likening BTS to the Beatles. So Stephen gets big kudos in my book too. I agree whole-heartedly with this list.

I agree with everything you said, except that: 1. Corden DID get hundreds of (or possibly more) death threats, which was ridiculous and BTS should have asked people to stop. 2. That particular joke was really funny 3. Corden wasn't "punching down" to anyone. Again, he was poking fun at the UN Secretary General (who likely didn't care) 4. Actually the "Hide and Seek with Ashton Kucher" episode was waay more cringy. I thought it was disrespectful to completely pick up a guy you don't even know. Of course Jin was gracious about it, as always.

Graham is someone who likes to get his guest interacting with each other. He's a very gentle person who's all about his guests, he's the reason celeb's love going on his show. We always notice the first time he has any American guest they are a bit quite but they always come back again and really relax and join in battering with the other guests. It's more like a group of friends on a sofa chatting, telling stories and having fun.

but i'm so confused as to why these late night hosts make fun of their guests in general. especially with BTS, its mostly Armys that watch the videos. so making these insensitive jokes about the audience that's supposed to be giving you the views and likes is so exceptionally stupid. especially last year when james corden made the "15 year old girls" joke. BTS was at their peak in popularity and was giving him millions of views. the carpool karaoke video is the 7th most viewed video in his channel! generalising a fandom that is giving you that much love and support has to be one of the most idiotic business decisions you can make lmao

Thank you for kindly calling out Boracity. She definitely is judgmental, and sometimes she loses me. I have no idea what she meant about RM's gesture on Colbert's show. Regarding Corden's non-apology, I would have been completely in the dark if I had not seen the whole interaction. BTW, people who appear on talk shows get their accommodations paid for--travel, hotel, expenses--but are not paid large sums of money.

The thing with Corden is, like Bora said, he didn't apologize. It actually kind of seemed like he was looking to get an apology from BTS. But him holding Jimin's hand and doing the whole "am I still papa mochi" crap. I'm not going to act like I know how Jimin felt about that, but I will say it was sick to watch. Jimin is an absolute sweetheart and Corden was basically guilting him in to saying everything is fine, we're fine. Not to mention the fact that he seemed to forget Jimin may not have been able to fully understand what he was saying immediately. I could have looked past the jokes, I can't look past Corden's behavior afterwards.

Sigh....I have really been trying to stay out of this because I never have been or never will be one to try to stir up controversy. I am a HUGE fan of BTS and I defend them, and my love for them on a regular basis and I am a proud Army. I agree that they do not get the amount of respect they deserve; especially from American the entertainment industry. The American entertainment industry really need to do a better job of doing their homework on the people that they interview and stop being lazy. That being said, I do believe that the whole joke that James Cordon made was taken out of context. I can agree that the joke wasn't funny because it was a lazy attempt at humor. But, the joke he was making is that 1) it was unusual to see a K-pop group there. I mean isn't that correct? Isn't it unusual for a K-pop group to not only give a speech, but also actually have the entire building to themselves to perform one of their hit songs? I would say so and, it was historic, so rather than making a joke about it, Cordon should have been giving kudos to BTS and gushing about how history had been made if he was such a fan of theirs. But as I said, it was a lazy joke. In fact, he shouldn't have joked about it in the first place, should have simply given them their props. Ok, so on to number 2) he wasn't implying that Army is only made up of 15-year-old girls. What he was saying is that the UN General Assembly is boring and that only BTS could have made it interesting enough for 15-year-old girls to want to tune in so that they could watch them. Again, was he lying? Do 15-year-olds generally tune in to the UN General Assembly? LOL I'm much older than 15 and I don't tune in to the UN General Assembly except to see BTS. LOL Cordon didn't say the whole fandom was made up of 15-year-old girls he said that only BTS could make 15-year-olds tune in to the UN General Assembly. So, I truly think the joke was blown out of proportion, but as I said before, it was a lazy joke and truly unnecessary. As someone who claims to be a fan and to recognize their talent, Cordon should have been giving them their props rather than trying to go for cheap jokes. And if he had writers writing the jokes for him, I'm sure he could have said, "why don't we say this instead?" I mean it is his name on the show. But, he is considered a comedian so his first reaction will probably always be to make a joke about something no matter the situation and I think that people in general should give others a little more grace and not be so quick to be offended and/or cancel people simply because we don't like something they said or did, because none of us are perfect and at some point or another we have more than likely offended someone we didn't mean to. I also really wished Namjoon hadn't just glossed over the whole death threat thing. I feel like he could have said a quick, "well, we don't condone that in any way, and we don't think that's cool for you and your family to feel threatened," before telling James that they accept his apology. Because the fact of the matter is, there are some that take things too far in the name of the person or people they love and it really does need to be called out, tactfully and respectfully, but firmly. And I feel like being the global leaders that they are, BTS could tell everyone that they appreciate their love, and they would be nothing without Army, but please be kind and respectful to everyone even if you disagree with them and it would be received positively. It is my hope that I didn't offend anyone with this comment, I was just trying to give a little perspective on the matter.

Some people would say that some ARMYs are too sensitive and take these stuffs too personally... I'm a very sensitive person, especially about people I love so yeah I react badly when I hear or read weird and disrespectful things about them. I'm not saying that we should jump on every person who makes a joke but there is a difference between jokes which are funny and inoffensive and jokes which are racists/disrespectful. Our boys are mistreated and disrespected since the very beginning, even before their debuts, so if we let pass this kind of sh*t behavior, everybody could have the right to do the same and it's neither acceptable nor possible !

People are just too damn sensitive, let's call it what it is. We're in very stressful times and when we're supposed to be coming together and embracing each other with more love and laughter rather than hate and sensitivity, most of these topics wouldn't even be a concern. These 7 angels have better things to worry about than to be bothered by comments of ignant people who will say or do anything to stay relevant or cause havoc. It typically ONLY becomes an issue when sensitive ass people take offense to it and begin to spread the offense. BTS honestly and more than likely can probably care less, especially when they have music to make, tours to complete, a military to serve, etc. Of course they are protective of Army and vice versa, but why consume their time to plant seeds of negativity in the first place, they deserve nothing but love, positivity, and support. Now legit racist comments, d3ath threats, being put in harm's way and things of that caliber would be understandable! But comments like their audience being mostly 15 year olds, come on now, who tf cares?!? And I doubt they did or would not have even known about it until whoever it was brought it to their attention. They rarely even give shit like this their energy unless it affects them individually like RM and the whole religion debacle most recently, which I also believe whoever started it was dumb as hell too and stressed him out over nothing. Now imagine if they themselves actually came out and said they thought the joke was funny, the speculation would've had an entirely different outcome, as for any of the comments on this list. But, "I guess" 😂 Anywho, their appearances on Jimmy Fallon has always been the absolute best!! 💜💜💜

This is so weird because I've never liked or watched James Corden, while I believe BTS is the most talented group of my lifetime and I feel like it is a true honor to be able to listen to their incredible songs. However! Army is absolutely wrong about this one. I actually tuned into ALL the late night shows the night of their UN performance BECAUSE I was so excited about it. I wanted to see if it was going to pop up in mainstream culture and it DID! Both Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert mentioned it! What Corden said was (first) that something "strange" happened at the UN today" which was true in that it was unusual. Now here's the joke: He said (quote) "this is the first time 15-year-old girls everywhere found themselves wishing that they were Secretary-General António Guterres." And I was on the floor it was so funny, because it's so true. He wasn't saying that all Army are fifteen years old, he was saying this is the first time that any fifteen year old would want to be in the place of the seventy-year-old Antonio Guterres--a great guy btw. He wasn't making fun of BTS or Army, he was poking fun at the Secretary General (who was probably pleased to be called out on latenight). I was so excited by all the mainstream attention BTS was getting and I was so disappointed by the weirdly overly sensitive reaction by so many Armys. I don't think BTS would've really cared about it but they always defend Army so I think that's why RM said something. And I can see why Corden said he wasn't apologizing, because he didn't do anything wrong. The joke was funny, it wasn't racist or defammatory in any way, and there should not have been the avalanche of hate that descended onto Corden's head for the next month or so. Army has both a good and bad reputation and it's ridiculous drama like this that gives the fandom it's bad reputation. Maybe if everyone had done a quick search for a picture of the Sec General, they would have seen how funny it was. 🙄
