Thank you for your question. We use edible glue to stick things. Please check out our tutorial on how to make edible glue. It's super easy. Thanks for watching! :)
Hi. Are you using shortening for molding the fondant so it isn't too sticky? Thank you very much for answering. And love your vids. :) I'm from the Philippines, so the climate here is hot. Does it have the effect on the fondant's stickyness? I use cornflour, btw. Thank you.
Hi Paula! We never use shortening on gumpaste as this only creates more cracks and wrinkles. It doesn't allow the gumpaste to stick to itself because shortening is oil/fat based. Hope that makes sense. Glad you like our videos. Thank you! :)
Hey! I’m a new subscriber because I love all of your videos! So helpful! Question: Do you ever decorate with just buttercream frosting or buttercream frosting with only fondant accents/toppers?
Thank you so much Masraya! We appreciate you subscribing! :) Yes all the time! Sometimes clients don't want fondant so we do just buttercream with fondant embellishments. Thanks for watching! :)
Hi Jenny! Great question. I always prefer gumpaste over fondant because gumpaste dries faster, is stronger, and it holds its shape. Unlike fondant, when it dries it is very brittle, and as it's drying it shifts and moves due to gravity causing cracks and wrinkles. I hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)
