Believe me, ALL their writing is this detailed. It's a little disappointing that so much of their genius word play will go over our heads 'cause we don't know Korean. Btw DDEANG isn't really directed any one person specifically, it's aimed generally at everyone who ever doubted them and treated them with unnecessary cruelty. Meaning us fans actually won't know who this track is for because only BTS knows - they're very mysterious about it. What I love most is that they still really polite even in their diss track. Which makes it burn even more.

You guys should check out Baepsae Explained by a Korean by DKDKTV. It is one of BTS's most political songs. You should watch all the explained videos of BTS. That way you understand the song better.

Yeah! DKDKTV has helped ARMY a lot!! Because they are korean and know the traditions and stuff like that. Danny and David are so cute and they made a lot of videos on their channel with BTS videos, explained!! We couldn't understand everything if it wasn't for them :)) We are grateful to DKDKTV and, of course to SKULKPack, for thier amazing reaction and being so open mind!! :)

They always write deep lyrics it’s actually ridiculous! I love how they choose not to go back and forth with haters but instead make great songs like this! With all the hate and shade people having been throwing at them recently I’m just patiently waiting for Cypher 5! Great video guys! What you said about when your looking at a song more then what it means , it changes your perspective. This is why people love bts ! This is why people love kpop ! You have no idea annoying and frustrating it is to explain to people why we love bts ! They just assume it’s just a boyband . They don’t realize that they work hard to use their music to spread a message and lesson . And all they do is just mock and insult us without even learning or thinking . And just use any xenophobic hate and racial slurs BTS works hard from ground zero over the years . They write music addressing social issues : oppression , hate , discrimination, bullying, suicide , mental health , etc . South Korea where they from has a huge suicide and mental health problem . BTS didn’t care if their music address topics that are too sensitive in media , they want to take a stand against issues like this . Plus they too have experience depression and anxiety as well . They write music addressing also about self love , self confidence, self acceptance. These guys are trying to show music can connect to anyone regardless of race , gender , or age . And that’s why they are not only the biggest kpop group , but the biggest boyband as well

I found this video 2yrs later. I loved your commentary. If there was no hip hop...would there be BTS? We enhance each other. They are genius & so is the creators of jazz, rock, pop, hip hop, soul, r& b & all other forms of music. The music is the similar the language is different, thats all...

This is one of the most genuine reactions I've seen to a BTS rap song. The understanding is so much more in depth and you really try to understand what BTS are trying to say. I hope you react to Bapsae by BTS, especially the Explain series by DKTKTV.

Suga basically said the same thing in a press conference, he said that they are now thankful for all the difficulties cuz it made them closer/stronger as a group and thankful for all the good things happening now. I'm glad u took the time to watch this, the thing is even if you read the translations of BTS songs u still may not get the nuances just like u said u gotta know cultural references slang etc. The good thing is they make bops so I can still enjoy their music w/o totally understanding but once u do it just makes u all the more impressed. You like this u should react to Bapsae, there's no mv only dance practice, but the same channel did an explained vid for it.

Ddaeng was actually a gift for ARMYs! The boys didn't even record it for an album. They performed it at the 2018 Festa (their anniversary celebration in June) and put it up for free download on Soundcloud. They do that sort of thing all the time for their fans!

What a wonderful discussion! Thank you. We are all broadened by new experiences. Even if we listen to something we don't like at first, finding deeper meanings allows us to appreciate it more. Confession time: I never really liked rap that much until I started listening to BTS. They changed my whole outlook and taste. Think about it this way... Reading all those subtitles to Kpop songs is helping you read faster and actually pay attention to lyrics that you maybe have passed over in western music.

Ddaeng is a diss track that is pretty much referring to the big entertainment companies that gave them a hard time and continually looked down on them and also the media in Korea who even pretty much ignored BTS even after they won their first Billboard award in 2017 that was never done by anyone else before but yet, believe it or not Korean media hardly mentioned them and still continually favored other idol groups that were part of those big entertainment companies (the big "3") that also has a heavy heart influence on the media. There was so much unbelievable corruption going on in Korea including payola & bribes as well. The Korean president finally got impeached in 2017 since she was actually the involved in a lot of the corruption. The new President Moon Jae In and his wife are big fans of BTS, but there is still on going unfair treatment going on!
