Namjoon actually wrote Dimple and revealed in his live that he felt sad that it was given to the vocal line, the ones who don't have dimples 😂😅 he was so salty then 😂 in the chorus, he actually wrote, "so I call you illegirl" not illegal girl like what was in the translation. I wish they put that there tho, cause that was a genius pun. And in Pied Piper, idk if you noticed, but it's basically a song they wrote for ARMY, saying we should somehow strike a balance between our fawning over them and our real life. If you go back to check Joon's lines, he said "your parents and your boss hate me. Analyze the video later and start studying for your test." but at the same time, they also sang about how they need us too. It's an amazing song tbh. 😊 And I guess everyone else has pointed it out, there are a lot of male ARMYs too. John Cena, Ansel Elgort (or at least he, Joon and Tae are friends), Jimmy Fallon, Matthew McConaughey, and there are a few others I forgot 😅

And Pied Piper is basically a Cypher for ARMY🤭😂🤣 But I love how it highlights TaeHyung's/V's vocal range and the sweet high tones of JungKook and Jimin's voices. He did, except the citizens of Hamelin cheated the man out of his payment. So the man-a “pied” piper-returned a year later and lured their children away, too. BTS is basically like that to their fans too. i will say that pied piper is a very sexy and playful song and i love that bts can express these different sides and they know their appeal but also they have a lot of lgbtq+ fans by the way lmao sjsj so a lot of guys too and not all the ladies. also ace/aro fans exist and many are not attracted in that way to them and those who do find them attracitve (like myself) don't necessarily like them /because/ of that. so yes, it is not such a big deal but those comments in every video are kinda annoying and a bit mocking, especially since you yourself said you have mostly a female audience.

Pied Piper is based on a legend from a town in Germany, "Hamelin". It dates back to really effing far, I wanna say middle ages? I read the story a lot growing up. Anyway The Pied Pier of Hamelin in the story was hired by the town to be a rat catcher and he would entrance the rats away with his pipe (flute) and like a snake charmer, charm the rats away from the town. The deal was the town was supposed the pied piper for his work (lots of worry about rats back then because of black plague) and the town refused. So as revenge the pied piper went into town and played a song with his pipe and in the middle of the night enchanted all the children away from the town to keep until he was paid for the job he had done before. The whole idea of the Pied Piper in the song is the enchantment BTS has over ARMY, the kind of spell we can't escape from and that lead us to miss class, not hang out with people, stay at home watching RUN episodes and making up theories about their music videos. The alienating side of any fandom. The song is BTS entreating us ARMY to put down our ARMY bombs from time to time and step outside and breathe fresh air and explore other things. Because according to them we have enough pictures plastered on the walls and have spent enough time down the fandom rabbit holes. LIES! Lol there is not enough hours in the day to spend watching BTS content, but I appreciate the admonishment.

Honestly that whole muster performance was so amazing The entire thing was a complete army killer (for guys and girls alike) Your reactions were hilarious and as always, I enjoyed watching As a Korean I feel like I need to mention that sometimes, the way songs are translated come off a bit more sexual sounding or just different from what it originally was. This is ESPECIALLY true for Pied Piper with some translations (this one was a better one), some translations are a bit misleading with the use of female pronouns during the song (which there are none) and the “pipe” line comes off sounding a bit weird. Don’t get me wrong, Pied piper is definitely a more provocative (for lack of a better word) Bts song, as it’s aimed at fans directly However the line “you’re not being punished” for example, sounds a bit more 😏 in English. Technically speaking, it’s not wrong, but the way it’s used in Korean is a bit different (more innocent) The best tip for not misunderstanding lyrics is to go with context. I don’t think Bts would use “pipe” as an innuendo any time soon (at least I don’t think so) the title itself is the best context you can get in this case, so, just think of Bts as the Pied Piper Bts very rarely uses direct pronouns, and with the Korean language you often completely drop pronouns (you’re supposed to understand who something is directed towards through the context of a conversation) it’s in most of their older songs that they use direct pronouns Sorry for the long comment but I hope this is helpful for the future I’ve seen quite a couple songs where the translations were a bit off and were interpreted a bit weirdly, but context is your best friend when trying to understand lyrics in another language (by context I mean cultural and conceptual context) Thanks for reacting and making videos 💜💜💜

the pied piper song is based on this German folk tale, der rattenfanger von hameln man who enchants everyone with the sweet sound of his pipe so that they follow him wherever he goes. they take on the role of the piper which is why they say follow the sound of this pipe. they are singing directly to Army (and snatching our hearts😂) . this is from a muster concert which are concerts for fans that are apart of the official fanclub. muster means a special gathering of troops. these are special concerts where they choose songs that are special to Army and them they even play games and put on skits for the fans.

So "Pied Piper" is actually a German story/fairytale about a piper, meaning someone who plays a pipe (musical instrument), who was hired by a German village (in the tale, the village is Hameln, Germany) to play his magic pipe and lure all the rats away from their village (they had a rat problem lol) and make them drown in a nearby river, but in the end the piper leads away the village's children with his magical pipe-playing and drowns them in the river as well. ("pied" is an old term that just describes what the piper was said to have worn in the story--an outfit with two or more colors) Basically, the song Pied Piper by BTS is about our (army's) obsession with BTS, with following the sound of their "pipe"--which is their music obviously, but also the tons and tons of other content they release for us to consume: videos, Run BTS, tweets, covers of songs, posters and photocards that we cover our rooms with, etc, etc. We cannot help ourselves but be swept up in all this content, just like how the rats and the children in the fairytale couldn't help but follow the Piper's magical song. In RM's verse, he says most of it--that army's are so obsessed that our parents hate bts and our lives are consumed by BTS (btw, i can personally relate lol....) and they are acknowledging that their "song" played by the pipe is extremely "dangerous" because it is so "sweet" and they are telling us to GET A LIFE LOL because obsessing over them to an unhealthy point "ruins us". I love them for making this song. If you think about it, it's super selfless, to tell their very passionate and loyal fans to STOP obsessing and buying things because we need to live our lives is very unexpected of a kpop idol (or any artist), cuz their fans buying their stuff and supporting them is their source of money... i just think it's really interesting and special that they wrote this song. Plus, just the fact that it is a German legend used in a Korean song is interesting. I bet it was RM's idea since he reads a lot and probably read the story at some point.
