Something that a lot of people miss in this song is the meaning of Namjoon's first verse. In S. Korea, they have a thing called n-po sedae (idk if I spelled the romanized word right) which is basically this phenomenon where the youth give up on n number of things (marriage, getting a job, buying a house, life) because of the drawbacks of super fast economic growth. In his verse, Namjoon said something like, "giving up on 3? On 5? How about 6?" he is referring to this. I can't explain it well cause I'm not a Korean 😂 but I just find it so amazing how Namjoon talks about stuff like that.
DOPE is a BTS classic. This is a peak execution. From backstory to preaching, its message remains strong as well as the impact and its public reception! 2015 of great times. BTS really is exceptional. Though they're a bit laid back as for music, this intensity is top notch. It's still great that when they are laid back these times, they are still bagging awards and recognition.
Namjoon IQ was tested in middle school , scored 148, his strength is language, math and sociology , so yeah his mind focuses allot on social constructs .. he is able to convey his thoughts thru lyrics . He is a poet
My favorite thing about the concept of this song is how they would wear different "uniforms" for every performance, highlighting the hard work for every job, every WORKER... Like we work hard to be where we at, police, doctors, racers, office workers, that's why we are all DOPE
I'm surprised this was the first time you're seeing this. Dope and Blood Sweat and Tears were the reasons I became a BTS fan when I first saw those years ago.
BTS delivers a bop that wraps around a moral or social core. "I reject rejection" everyone should have that quote on their wall. Nice reaction, well done. Stay well
BTS's original choreographer and award-winning performance director is Son Sungdeuk. While BTS has worked with many renowned, excellent choreographers over the years, Sondeuk has been with them since the beginning and has designed some of their most iconic stages. In early performances and dance practice videos, you will often see him acting as a backup dancer as well!
Keone Madrid is the choreographer of "DOPE" FIRE " NOT TODAY" and "BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS" HE is an american pro choreographer.. he also did choreo other american singers.. mostly in kpop groups ,theres alot of choreo artist who will show or offer their choreo to some singers and if the management or the choreo director of the groups will like the artist presentation they will approve it and they will work with them for that songs.. So other songs of bts have different choreographers. just like "BUTTERFLY" and jimin's "Serendipity" was choreograph by Brian Puspos a filipino choreographer.
I have been absolutely enjoying the binge of your videos man. Your character and your energy is top notch man. Feels like I'm just hanging with my brother.
I'm not army but I respect them as people and artists, and Stan the members Their music may not be up my alley but this song and it's choreo remain iconic and indeed DOPE
This is the one that turned me into army. I had only watched Dynamite and Boy with Luv. I almost blew them off, but then I watched Dope. And it was all over.
Please tell me, as an anime fan, that you noticed and identified Vs costume in this! 🙏 I got into kpop in November 2016 after watching a reaction video to BigBang. I watched BB for a while and checked out a few other groups YT suggested until they finally suggested this one. This MV was my introduction to BTS and I was hooked immediately. This was different. This stood out. I didn't even know they had subtitles until a month later (I was so used to watching videos from BigBang and other groups that didn't have subs that I didn't even think to check) so I fell in love with them for their music then got to fall in love with them all over again for their lyrics. 💜
If you do become ARMY ...and become ARMY can hit you like a runaway truck!...then you just may be listening to these songs over n over again...because you always catch something new you missed the last time... Yes...Bangtan boys are that good...Wall Street Journal calls them masters of innovation....
This song put them on the map with other fandoms. It really reached audiences we never thought they had. Like for instance my non kpop friends were obsessed with this song. It was pretty new to me tbh. Cuz the only other song I have seen them enjoy thoroughly was I Am The Best.
This was my very first BTS song i ever watched/heard :D back in 2018 so im really happy YOU are reacting to it!! YEY ALSO UR INTRO IS FRICKEN "DOPE" WUT PROGRAM DID YOU USE??
Am I first?!?!?!?!?!?! I honestly love this song bc it's so accurate about them if that makes any sense😅 They work really hard to get where they r now, I'm proud to me an Army 🥰💙
@@biancararutaru679 i don't know actually, i saw that theory also, but it's not really confirmed yet. But i was talking about jk's live raspy highnote on that one😅
@@arianne8867 it's not a theory lol, it's confirmed. in the official audio and music video version, the high note u hear is done by jimin. however, jk does sing the high note during their live shows sometimes
Heeeey I recognize your intro huh japanese lyrics but the music was "Dear Maria count me in" Btw great reaction, I'm always waiting for your bts reactions💜
Actually, in this part [7:20] it's a verse by Jungkook and another by Jimin successively; it's not how it appears in the video. In this way, the high note isn't from Jungkook, but from Jimin. Anyways, Jungkook can take these notes, but it's not the case.
BTS has their main choreographer, just because J-Hope is technically the lead dancer doesn't mean he choreographs the dances. Sometimes they occasionally have others choreograph for them such as for their song/video for ON it was a 19 year old girl from Los Angeles who choreographed it. But for the most part it is their main dude who does their dances. The boys do get some input on them though and might contribute to some of the dances. J-Hope main role as lead dancer is to help out the others and keep in line when their main choreographer can't always be around.
yes all bts songs have different choreographers ... alots of artist(choreographer) will offer there choreo to some singers .. and if the choreography director or management will like their choreo that presented , they will contact that choreoArtist to work with them in that songs. Keone Madrid is the choreographer of DOPE ,NOT TODAY,FIRE and BLOODsweat&tears. and speaking of "ON" choreo .. it was jimin who did the choreo in breakdance and the chorus jimin was the teacher in "ON”. he even teach the steps to jhope .
@@luciaas4174 But in “ON” it was jimin who teach them all 6 members . jimin is the first MAIN dancer , jhope is 2nd MAIN dancer HE became dance leader and main dancer year after their debut.
DUDE U GOTTA WATCH THEIR LOVE YOURSELF CONCERT PERFORMANCE OF DOPE - JUNGKOOKS HIGH LIVE VOCAL WILL KILL U - JK IS WEARING A WHITE/BLUE JACKET IN THAT SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE
Hello 07:34 in the Mv they make a change between Jimin and Jungkook, live Jungkook if he sings the high note. But in this MV the one who makes the high note is Jimin but there was no coherence in the camera because they were very followed by each other. Nam for future president.
