I could feel dad's emotion during this song. BTS has a special relationship with Coldplay. They are truly friends. They did a colab on My Universe and Chris Martin got permission to fly to Korea whilst we were still under lockdown rules to record the song with BTS. There is a documentary film that's well worth watching. Jin flew to Argentina - a 24 Hour journey - to sing his goodbye song to ARMY (before he went into the military) The Astronaut live at Coldplay's concert. Chris Martin appears in the MV and does backup vocals. Again well worth watching the documentary . They're both on BangtanTV BTS's RU-vid channel. 💜💜💜
Yes, all of this. The My Universe documentary is only 12-ish minutes. Links to the MV and doc below. Fun fact: Jin trended as "pink mic guy" among non-ARMYs due to this performance because as you said "great voice". And since he was actually the one who initiated the entire Coldplay collaboration according to Chris Martin, I think it was fate. I absolutely love their friendship and you should watch the intro he gave Jin in Argentina where he talked about what the collaboration has taught him/them. It's very moving. Love you guys, keep it up. 💜
I'm glad that you guys liked this rendition. BTS rendition of "Fix You" is really one of my favorites of all time. They really gave that song, justice.
This cover is actually what first got me curious about BTS (especially Jin’s high part). I really enjoy your reactions and I look forward to the next one! 💜
What a special, heartwarming relationship you have with you son, dad! I have tears in my eyes now, not because of the song, which I love💜, but because I felt your emotions and am so proud of how you support our son. Great reaction!
It really is brilliant with the 2 octaves, a genius way to incorporate the rappers with this song. And the band! They always have an awesome band to perform with. I subscribed due to Dad's loving support for the young man. It warms my heart. 💜🫰
Thank you so much! I agree that incorporating the rappers was a great way to lift the vocal lines. A multitude of harmonies aren't always needed when the effect is already generated from a simple octave. Wonderful!
This was a great cover from the boys very true to the original. If you haven't seen it yet they did a cover of I'll be Missing You for BBC1 live in Korea during the pandemic which is also amazing.
Dad felt it. I have listened this when i was really having a hard time and it really did make me feel something. Their voices at that time hit straight in the heart and i still listen to it when i am having a bad time. 💜 Thank you soo much for such a honest and raw reaction i really appreciate it. 💜
There are ups and downs in life continuously and i am in a down phase right now but i have your good wishes and bts helps with their music as well i am hopeful everything will be fine soon. Thank you so much. 💜🤗
BTS are so great in so many categories. But I think they really stand out in a few. One category is just pure vocal ability. Such a pleasure to listen to them sing. Do check out “Your Eyes Tell”. It will astonish you. Another standout category is the way they apply their vocal talents in such beautiful ways, here, and in so many other ways. The way they put a vocal background while another is rapping is second-to-none, imho.
I knew you guys would enjoy this.. the cringy air drums was funny 😂 Their voices are so clean and effortless. So glad you enjoyed it.. I had to listen to it a few times to pick up new delights like them singing in two different octaves 🙌🏽
Thank you, boys. I loved your genuinely respectful listening to this song - almost no comment, no interruptions, but genuine communication with your eyes. Too many reactors just HAVE to interrupt or talk over - never the best, and I suspect they get a bit of ARMY grief - at least, I know they are sometimes told not to do that, because they say so! The story behind BTS doing Fix you is sweet (I suspect Chris Martin knew next to/nothing about who on earth they were before that), but Coldplay's response is even sweeter : moments after the song came out, they tweeted ... " Beautiful". No more need said. Sadly not all were so open. A German DJ, on hearing about the cover (and probably never having actually heard it) made some deeply derogatory comments, comparing BTS to a virus and saying they deserved a 20 year vacation in North Korea. The backlash was lively, including responses from multiple artists, including Halsey, Steve Aoki and Max. Of COURSE, ARMY too. The guy made a very brief, very patronising non-apology, claiming it wasn't racist, and was a joke. (Bullies and racists always say it was a joke). At the time the guy had an early evening daily weekday show. He now has a 1 hour show on Sunday at lunchtime. Of course, it's now well known that Coldplay and BTS are brothers from another mother. You might like to look into not only My Universe (and the making of documentary) but also Jin's farewell-for-now son The Astronaut - plus, the live in Argentina (please find the video that includes Chris Martin's introduction), plus the video of behind the scenes ... Jin - the first time performing without his brothers - was very very scared. And probably also had jet lag.... he flew in for the show and flew out straight away! Chris Martin is a genuine angel. An interviewer asked him if he was surprised at the success of My Universe - his answer? was something like ..."Of course not - this is the biggest band in the world!" He always credited BTS with more of the success of the song because they are so huge. The man has a heart made out of generosity.
Love how Chris Martin/Coldplay always respectfully refer to BTS as the "biggest band/artists in the world"...not the semi-dismissive 'biggest boy band' used by almost everyone else. BTS has grown/matured light-years beyond the 'boy band' designation.
I completely agree. I am so fed up of telling 'reactors' that BTS are not a Boy Band, and exactly WHY that is the case. I've almost given up - but not quite! 😂🤣@@brendajones9321
Their harmonies are wonderful. So lovely to see you both enjoy, not just a great song, but how BTS did it justice. Nice to see dad give son an appreciation of good music, it will stay with him forever. See you soon.💜💜💜
Fix you is such a beautiful song that really pulls at my heart strings , when I watched this cover i fought back tears and chills ❤ thankyou for reacting to it
JK Oasis cover on Radio 1 live room is also incredible 💜 Also there's a little doc on Chris Martin meeting BTS to record My Universe that would be great to react to 💜
It is impressive that BTS is a group that sounds much better live where their vocal and interpretive quality can be heard clearly. Songs like this don't stop making me cry every time I hear them. It would be nice if they could listen to some song from the rap line like UGH live, or from the HOUSE OF CARDS vocal line also live. Both are awesome, I think they would love both.
I really love to watch your reactions. They are sincere and respectful, and watching Dad's support and mentoring of his son with his knowledge of the music side is just lovely to watch. It is such a pleasure and I am really grateful that you both are allowing is to follow son's journey to achieve his dream. My eldest daughter starts university in St Andrews next week to pursue Chemistry like me, my youngest will go to Uni next year for Business Management. Watching your children reach for and achieve their dreams is the best.
Young man, you can be ANYTHING you want. Wanting it enough is the first half, and working hard for it is the other. Just one example, Jin (the one with the pink mic) was studying film/acting at the university and had never sang or danced before he was asked to join their entertainment agency and became a trainee. He worked HARD at training his voice and learning the dance routines. Really, really hard (he kept studying too). Pretty soon (sooner than he expected!) it was very hard for anyone to believe he hadn’t grown up singing, and he holds his own dancing next to Jimin who went to studied several dance styles since middle school & JHope who has been dancing since he was around 10yrs old & won a National dance competition at 14. Along the way, he has learned to write, compose & produce songs and he didn’t want to “pretend” to play the piano for his solo song at their concert tour, so he learned to play it for real. You’re off to a great start already & it’s nice to see you have loving support from your dad. Best wishes for the future!
They totally did this justice and then some. I also love the lower and higher octave harmonies. The rap line did great singing the lower parts while the vocal line took turns hitting those high notes. Beautiful song. BTS became friends with ColdPlay during the pandemic and their collab song of My Universe. Then Jin did a collab with them for his solo song The Astronaut, and flew all the way to Argentina to perform that one song with them at their concert. There are behind the scenes/documentaries for both on BangtanTV channel if that interests you. They are worth the watch. If you already did, my apologies (I have trouble keeping up with who has done what here on RU-vid).
@@XplozoneReactsHe’s so good it’s hard to believe he had no previous singing or dancing experience before he signed with BigHit and became a trainee. Proves you never really know what you CAN do until you try.
I think music can be subjective in many ways, but I was surprised as a baby ARMY to find out that some people were such haters that they would say that BTS can't sing well. Their voices are so clearly beautiful and the talent is so clear that it's just ridiculous every time I see people say that. This was such a good example of how strong their live vocals are.
I think the young Lad has the confidence to do whatever he wants in life and I think the duo is helping to build it even further, so good on you dad for dedicating your time!! At his age I would never have been able to speak in front of a camera! I bonded with my sons over music from a very young age. We attended many live concerts together even into their adulthood. Great memories. The melodies were quite impressive as they included the rappers in the singing vocals. These guys can do anything. Glad you enjoyed it so much. Hope you check out their other collabs with Coldplay.
You don't often hear BTS singing together with harmonies and whatever it's called when you sing in separate octaves (I don't believe that is called harmony) but it's amazing when they do! Another good cover song that demonstrates similar vocal skills is their BBC Radio One cover of "I'll be Missing You".
You might like this one too. It was part of the same MTV Unplugged and it's a song called Blue & Grey from their "Be" album written during the pandemic. Mellow & melancholy. It was largely written & produced by V. It's another showcase of their unique voices & harmonies: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iP62Tg04vww.html
@@XplozoneReacts I have been Army since 2018. They are a great group. Creative, talented. Have you watched the MV-ON kinetic manifesto yet?? It is an amazing song and very cool!
A radio host was extremely offended by this performance; insisting that this 'talentless boy band' had no right to associate themselves with Coldplay. Karma responded with 2 subsequent BTS/Coldplay collaborations 😅
Some people just can't accept talent out of their little dark safety zone. These guys are fantastic and deserve big recognition, enabling them to work with huge bands like Coldplay. They'll always prevail. 😊
I so enjoy your reactions! You both seem so genuine and nice; and you are a GREAT dad! Maybe you would like the BBC's live cover they did of Puff Daddy and Faith Evans' I'll Be Missing You, when Biggie died. Here is a link:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NPW2RDiS5K8.html. I don't think you need to worry about copywrite because this link is from BangtanTV, their own channel, and not BBC's.
@@XplozoneReacts I can’t wait. What do you play? Both guitar players? I know I’ve heard you mention before that you learn the solo from that extreme song years ago, so I’m assuming you play guitar.
Hello! Fellow English/British reactor here! I’ve literally just found your channel today through a Queen reaction with your son! It’s always great to find English reaction channels! Even better to find ones that are from the north of England like myself! I’m gonna be deep diving into your channel to see what you’ve been checking out! I’m looking forward to it! Maybe one day we could team up for a video? I’d love to collaborate with someone on a video. Also do you do movies? I’m about to do Jackass 2, Up! And Grown ups 2, also do you react to tv shows because the majority of my content is Scottish comedy such as still game, chewin the fat, Rab C Nesbitt, Scotch and Wry and other shows such as gimme gimme gimme and I recommend you check them ALL out!
Hey! How are you doing? That sounds so cool! It's wild that you feel our northern heritage! Even though we're born and live in South Wales, the family is from Leeds! We love our Northern heritage! Thank you so much for taking the time so dig through our channel. we'd love to do a collab! we've always done music reactions but I'm sure the Lad would also love to do movies and TV shows! Especially Rac C Nesbitt! 🙏😁
@@XplozoneReacts hello! I’ve just spotted this because it’s my birthday today and I’ve got some time on my phone because the family are eating and I’m waiting for my food to arrive! Leeds! Literally 20 miles away from me! I live in Keighley. It’s….a troubled place at times, but it’s home…I’m chuffed you’d be up for a collab! I’ve always wanted to do one! Also one thing I’ve noticed when watching you is how you and your son keep turning to look at the other! It’s so cute lol ! With you it’s like “is he enjoying this as much as I was hoping? Looks like it…back to queen!” And with your son it’s like “wow, I’ve actually got a cool dad!” 😀 And of course I feel the northern heritage! I’m a northerner/Yorkshireman through and through! I won’t drink any other tea but Yorkshire, my dog is a whippet cross mix type breed, the football club I support is a West Yorkshire club, and I’m automatically skeptical of any and all southerners LOL! 😁 (nah some are okay I guess, like Harry Kane, he’s alright…) Regarding the collab I think it would be awesome to do gimme gimme gimme or Rab c Nesbitt/still game with you two, in fact still game is definitely the most suitable for the younger one and it’ll be easier because RCN is really thick Scottish accents that even I have trouble with sometimes and I have an acting background and one of my main specialties is accents. I look forward to hearing from you! If I don’t reply straight away it’s because I’m stuffing myself with McDonald’s! 😄😁🤝🏻
