*PERIODT* after it will be released I'm sure haters will shut their damn mouth and will be crying every freaking one of us is so proud rn that BTS is covering this beautiful and meaningful song this is just amazing 💜
@@Rebelass74 LOL go and shut your mouth you haters are everywhere every artist out there lip sync and BTS most probably doesn't even lip sync BTS is one of the few artist right there who actually does lip sync I think you just need to go and focus on your favs rather being OBESSED with BTS and ARMYS go and get a life man and just wait for the cover to be release then bark as much as you want.
I came here to honestly see how they would execute such an iconic song that was dedicated to one of the most legendary rappers the Notorious BIG who lost his life way too soon. This song really has a strong meaning especially for the black culture. And I can honestly say they did a good job.
Jin is coming soon. So proud to be an Army. Please show support them always guys. They deserve everything for all the hardwork they've given for us Army to be this happy. BTS Paved the way. Borahae!
I'm a senior black women and I'm crying with joy. My granddaughter shared this me. I will never erase this.lord have mercy. Those young men jam that song.
The boys really know the meaning this song holds, that's why they performed this dedicated to everyone around the globe who is struggling because of the pandemic. I'm so glad you liked it
This song makes me cry..My father really liked this song.He does not know how to speak English, but he can memorize this song. But he died last week.I miss him.thank you very much bts.such a beautiful cover.😭
This song is a prime example of how boy bands are favored a lot more than girl groups. Jimmin and his first tenor high notes is a talent if I have ever seen one. Flip it and have a girls group try to do a cover where you need a bass, the girls often fail. This was beautiful BTS. Great job guys. -Oregon-U.S.A 🙋🏾♂️
For those of you who weren't around, Jimin's falsetto brings memories of Frankie Vallie and Eddie Kendricks in their heyday - and this is a huge compliment. 2:19 "Somebody tell me why." This is the video that brought me into the BTS world and I'm so enjoying the ride and learning all about this wonderful group of very talented young men.
@@0622Sheenawell, she is not offending anyone, she is just admiring their high notes. It doesn't make you not ot7 just for say that. And also "Suppor them all" is not put just an ot7 comment. (Sorry for this, I just thought it 🤺)
@@Ithinkiskay I do understand that, but again as what V & RM says BTS is 7. As a fan of them if we acknowledge one member we should atleast acknowledge the other members coz they have put a lot of efforts to perform as well. If only all fans can watch and see their interviews about the mental stress that they feel and have to go through just to please their fans, it's just disturbing that their main vocalist would think that he's not good enough or he's still lacking to be part of BTS now that they are a global superstar & continues to question his talents. A little appreciation to other members will do a lot. We all have our biases, but would it be much better if we also appreciate the other members as well especially the rap line. BTS will not be BTS w/o any of them.
@@0622Sheena no no no you have it all wrong. you are very wrong. just because someone shows appreciation to a couple members in particular does NOT mean they are negatively putting down or dismissing the other members presence or talents. if someone notices one member more , for example , the flageolets and falsettos jimin and jin BOTH hit. it’s bound to be noticed. same for having a bias you resonant with the most the first time you watch bts interviews or variety shows. you can have a bias and still be OT7 , but you can’t call yourself an ARMY without being OT7 in the first place.
Im 67 yr old Black woman. I had the cassette of "every step u take" by Police back n the day. And I listened to the Faith/P diddy version too. So now Bts is doing a cover. This is not about race (as some like 2 bring up,). Its about a song. And I think that each artist did a good job. And yeah, I'm Army and proud!
My cousin passed away in June this year at the age of 21. We used to listen to BTS and fangirl over them whenever we were together, she loved BTS. Always in my heart, Tyler (Ty), forever 21 💜
What’s really great here is you can clearly see none of them are trying hard to outshine the others (which is rare with pop groups) instead they all utilise their voices to best compliment the song and each other and have clearly practised hard to make sure the harmonies are perfect. They’re not selfish they want the group to shine, its refreshing seeing such a big pop group have a healthy relationship with each other.
my boyfriend passed away last year and the played the original version of this song at his funeral and ive been an army for years now and this popped up in my recommended today and i decided to listen to it, not even paying attention to the title and i immediately burst into tears. i got my boyfriend into bts a little bit and this brought me so much comfort.
Another amazing cover by them is fix you. Let me know if you want any recommendations for bts songs (like born singer or 0 o’clock) or a specific person. :)
Dear parents, just because your child is smiling at their phone, does'nt mean they have boyfriend or girlfriend, they are just watching this masterpiece
army please keep in mind that this song is extremely important to the black community and saying such things as "bts did it better" is beyond rude. credit the artists and show only love/support!we don’t need even more anti’s against us and unnecessary backlash. especially since hobi and namjoon have said themselves that they’re inspired by a lot of black artists.
yeah exactly, rapline have all shown love to biggie in different ways before so this song def means a lot to them too. i hope everyone will respect the original while they enjoy this one 🙏🏾
Me:- I didn't heard the original yet . So can't compare at all first of all . 2nd . Being army I have respect to all talented artist . That's what BTS teach me Always .. #respect
Some people are getting so upset over this cover. Firstly, their instrumental was more directed towards The Police version of the song (the original), and RM explained before this cover was started, that the song performed by PDiddy and Faith Evans was a tribute to Notorious BIG. As its a cover, they decided to change it up and also added Korean Rap verses, which actually are quite meaningful lyrics. It's a COVER, they respected both versions of the song and put their own flair to the song. People are just hating for no reason. If you don't like it move on. Sting ( The Police, and writer of the original) has twittered about the song and seems to enjoy it. Not once did BTS ever try and take the meaning away from PDiddys version of the song or what it meant at the time when his version was released. Other performers have covered this song, and there was no hate. So why are 7 Korean men who happen to be the biggest group in the world right now, receiving so much hate???? Think about it....
I didn't see any hate comments though...I guess those haters are 0.0000000001% bcz they are lifeless toxic hater who doesn't know how to appreciate good things....majority of people are enjoying the song and praising them..that's what matters most so ignore those jobless haters and enjoy the song💜
@@revelEVERafter indeed. We have amazing vocal line here.. and speaking of vocals, RAPline sounds great when singing too in other songs.. Bangtan is a very versatile talented group of Artists..
All the non armys who are loving their singing and rap, do check out their music. I promise you won’t regret it. Their songs are so comforting and healing. All thanks to them that I’m alive today writing this comment now.
This is the translation of the Korean lyrics: SUGA’s verse: We’re now used to our routines taken away But still can’t give up living on We’re more worn out because we don’t know where this ends We’re an island we made ourselves because we couldn’t trust each other Hope an end comes for this tiring pandemic virus Negative thoughts can sometimes be a minus I knew it wasn’t the end so I couldn’t say bye When that day comes, will say “hi” like nothing happened j-hope’s verse: I hate this world, our traces became memories I just empty my mind, trust without conditions I fill it every day with just loneliness Not like the longing that encircles me We miss you, baby Whenever it may be Here’s hoping we meet again, I promise
im a vocal coach and bts vocals are on another level, they are stable and their vocals are so versatile yet so beautiful im actually surprised every one of them have a completely different beautiful aura

First time I've heard BTS sing this. I lost both my older brother, two younger brothers, one younger sister and my oldest son. This is my song for them. Made me cry. Good job. Love this rendition. Thank you.

i love how they paid homage to the original and said in the bbc radio1 interview that they chose this song because its a tribute to notorious B.I.G whom they are fans of as they are fans of hiphop and even have hiphop origins (their song HipHop Phile pays tribute to the genre and its legends) , and added that they chose to cover this as it is a comfort to many people worldwide basically the same approach to choosing fix you as their first proper cover in years. I have massive respect to them for covering it with so much sincerity and sensitivity and making it sound magnificent .
Bangtan leader RM had once said that if BTS' songs could reduce someone's pain from a 100 to 99, 98 or even 97, then the septet's existence is enough. Reading through all the comments, I hope he knows that they've done that and more. And that is why, ARMY will always be behind them, now and always...
I cry every time I watch that video or every time I read this. They've helped me so much to get through the pain I feel physically and emotionally. I will be forever grateful for the comfort and love they give.
nobody's gonna talk about the live band playing, the beat of the drum the guitar strumming the bass rhythm they truly did a tremendously impressive performance for BTS- OT7..
Yes they are great, we love them. They are called "Ghost" and they have done various performances with BTS (also one of the them has worked as a producer for some BTS tracks)
I know this song is not theirs, but here you can see that these guys have a lot of talent, what voices. I do not know why there are malicious people who speak ill of them and their music, their tones of voice are very beautiful.
If you listened to the full show you would know that Namjoon was clear about this song being a tribute so let’s all be respectful. Also BBC please put English subtitles for the Korean rap parts so everyone can enjoy the performance even more
That's one thing I love about BTS, they always honor the original song. They understand the meaning behind it, and they put their own unique spin on the song while maintaining the integrity of the original version.
Km Not fan of KPop but when i hear Dynamite and i search in RU-vid,after that im so inlove to this Group they save me from my Depression Anxiety and to the Pandemic.I miss them so much❤

armys: REMEMBER to stay respectful. this was a tribute to the notorious b.i.g, or named biggie smalls. this song is known to be very important and significant to the black community, so do not go in the youtube comments of “i’ll be missing you” saying that you found this song because of bts. it’s great you found this song because of bts, but is disrespectful to do that under the comments of a song honoring and giving a tribute to a very significant figure.
@@JaneDoe-kl5qpbts isnt racist and this isnt about bts.Its about armies being unintentionally disrespectful because they dont know the meaning of the song
BTS and every performance of theirs is forever iconic… Also Jimin’s Somebody tell me why and his harmonies and adlibs esp at 3:53 and the way he emotes, such a terrific vocalist!
I watched this video last month without knowing BTS at all. I just search the song and it's beautifully sang by this awesome people. Since then, I become an OFFICIAL ARMY❤❤❤ I purple you bangtan boys❤❤❤
When my son was still in the ICU, Permission To Dance had a different meaning for us, especially that my son just randomly dances. My husband would play the song in full blast in the car while we look for medical supplies. My son died on July 26. We had the memorial service yesterday. It feels like this is BTS' personal tribute for the service :) Updated 08/08/2021: Thank you to everyone for your words of comfort :)
I am sorry for what happened to you and your family. I hope you will get through this together. I know that it hurts now, but I promise it will get better one day. 😘💜(sending virtual hugs)

RU-vid is seriously slacking, we need a love button. That was my comfort song when it came out oh so long ago. Hearing it now from BTS touched me to literal tears. I need Faith Evans to sing with Jimin, and it's a REAL feeling. Imagine the harmony. *chills* Heck I want her to sing a new version of this with the WHOLE group. Someone please please PLEASE. Make this happen.
No stop. This comment is going to get buried for sure. But WOW! Lets clap for the band because the beat they made was perfect!!! And ALL the high notes and mid libs and ad libs and their harmonies. Im crying but happy and sad and emotional but proud. Holy heck this was a great version of this song. The original is amazing on its own and this has its own flavor while doing the original justice.
@@jintheprince3991 Oh man - the dedication & love. I admire you ARMY! I wish Id been here since 2013. But as my bias says, whenever I found them was their debut day for me, and Im so glad I found them when I did ☺
@Cathy Rios Thank you 😙 They all deserve the praise! I love the original and I grew up listening to it so Ill always love it, but Bangtan's cover (and the amazing band playing in the back) they managed to do something completely different with it, without taking away any of the emotion from the original😄
BTS are the most positive artist right now. They bring joy to people. Music critics still don't get that millions of people connect deeply with BTS because of that. Many pop artists produced great songs, but BTS produced healing music!!!
As a “dope old person” who grew up in NYC in the 90s listening to Biggie, (I actually remember the day I was told he died, I was in gym class of middle school - not that anyone asked). So I’m very much aware of the importance of this song and what it means not just to hip hop but also the black community. This song will always have a place in my heart and I’m so proud of BTS right now. They did such an amazing job with this cover, you can literally feel the emotion thru the screen. They paid homage to not just I’ll be missing you but also the original Sting song “every breath you take” while adding their own color to it, I’m blown away. 💜 Proud army over here. 💜 Also can we talk about… like everything! The harmonies The high notes The Korean verses Hobi’s flow Every f’ing adlib?!?!? Jimin’s “Somebody tell me why” and V’s “La La”
I loved it. This song is one of my fav song from that era with alots of memories, and I love Faith Evans too. I knew Jimin would take Faith part and killed it ❤ it was Amazing
THE VOCALS, THE RAP, THE BAND. Just immaculate. I grew up listening to this song and my mom told me that it's very special to her cuz it reminds her of my uncle, who unfortunately passed away years ago. She said Namjoon killed his line and Jimin's vocals are out of this fckin world. I completely agree. She loved this cover since she's a fan of the guys. 💜
RMs rap was flawless, Jimins angelic voice, Suga and J-Hope rapping in Korean, Vs soulful voice, Jin and Jungkook giving us all the feels with their beautiful vocals. So proud of them for giving us this amazing cover which is a tribute to Notorious B.I.G
My dad used to play this song when I was a little girl. Now he left us for other woman and I know it's a bad memory whenever I'm listening to this but it hurts so much knowing tannies are the ones who covers this. Now, I've grown up and I lost my mom after my dad left us. This song has really so much many memories and nostalgia. It hurts but i somehow love to listen it.
The part where they all stand up and sing is the best part. Their different vocal tones blend together incredibly well. I’m really impressed with how they interpreted the song.
We army's are proud that BTS is covering this beautiful and amazing song can't wait!! And also LEGEND supporting another legend we love to see that hope there will be love and positivity everywhere and to the one who lost their loved ones stay strong and happy remember everyone is with you especially us BTS AND ARMYS. 💜

Performances like this showcase how really talented they are. I never cared for them and thought they were just hyped, mostly because of some of their fans, but after I watched their MTV performance, it changed my mind. They’re MAD talented and I’m a fan.
Thank you for appreciating the boys ! If you're interested in more performances like this from them, you can search their latest 'FESTA 2021 song medley', their 'Armypedia live performance', or their mini 'NPR radio performance.' It really allows their skills as singers/rappers to shine, in a similar laidback style ; while showcasing the versatility of their songs. You get some old gems, and very diverse genres. Also, check their cover of Coldplay's 'Fix You' ! It's awesome. 😊👍 As for BTS's hype... As an old-fan, I can say it really built up throughout the years, thanks to their hardwork, ethics and personalities. You're saying 'talent' but these guys worked super hard from the beginning, and that dedication (and the amazing performances they make with it) really pulled people in. (And keep pulling more!) If you're ready to watch well-crafted artistry (search their choreographies ,) and listen without prejudice, (which I think you already do, here....), you'll really get to enjoy what they do, even without being a fan. Hope you'll enjoy the above recommendations !
