BTS Jimin is Back! | Smeraldo Garden Marching Band Reaction 

Always appreciate Jimin’s ability to masterfully combine interesting instrumentation w/ Hip Hop, Ballad style vocals, and Rap, all wrapped by super catchy hooks and melodies. ❤️ how his lyrics are deceptively simple but have 2-3 underlying meanings - have to listen to his music w/ both ears and brains. For instance - “SGMB reveals a story about the world where all the hidden feelings of the listener are accepted and embraced. Smeraldo flowers signify “the truth that one couldn’t say out loud.” Song urges listeners to embrace their truth because in ‘Smeraldo Garden,’ the marching band embraces everyone’s authenticity and feelings.” (Also ties into BTS’s song “The Truth Untold”.) Some reactors have acted like this is just some goofy summer song, disappointed he didn’t do something like Set Me Free Pt. 2. I think it’s great he’s unafraid to share another side and give us pure joy! He does what he wants despite industry expectations (like singing live in a MV)… can totally see The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Band” influence. Also, interesting note on the Smeraldo flower: Jimin collaborated with producers Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan, who contributed to his solo album, Face. During its prod, the group casually began calling themselves the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, the playful title eventually becoming a reality.

Jimin's song is a response to one of BTS's songs, "Truth Untold", it is based on an Italian story of a man who hid from people, because he did not accept himself, the only thing he liked was to take care of from your garden. A very poor woman starts stealing flowers from him, he gets angry at first, but then realizing that she does it to live, he decides to create a unique flower, so that she can sell it at a high price. They adapted that story and the song. In the song they talk about blue flowers. BTS called it Esmeraldo, because the Italian story is called The Emerald City.

On the top of their music, BTS mere existence brings people together and spread love all over the world. Hence, the never ending growing ARMY. And, this is what this song means. BTS can easily turn the dark world (Esmeraldo Flower as referenced in Truth Untold) into brighter side by presenting the total opposite of the story of Esmeraldo Flower, a very sad Italian folk tale.

Definitely a homage to the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Similar sound and strange sort of psychedelic background. Also in the lyrics he sings “I want to hold your hand,” a very popular early Beatles song. Jimin gave us a clue in the behind the scenes video for Face, he and PDogg went to a record store and bought the Sgt. Pepper album. Sgt Pepper album was the start of the Beatle’s Chapter 2 when they grew tired of who they were and wanted to reinvent themselves.

Loco was actually in the original BTS lineup, back when they were supposed to be a hip hop crew. He was one who left when they told him he would have to dance. That adds some context to the end when Jimin pulled him in to do some choreography.

In Smf2 the song ends in a kind of rebirth of Jimin. Face was darker because of his feelings during covid. This album, I think, is a progress from depression to a lighter feeling having a Muse now to give him inspiration.

This song is happy and cute. This MV remind me of Wes Anderson movies and Sgt Pepper from The Beatles. Jimin is so happy on this MV and he sings live. The choreo is cute. For me, it’s his name on the micro. Thanks for this excited reaction. 💜

fun fact: bts is an official ambassador for rock paper scissors game. look it up, it's legit 😆 bighit always put out updates on legal proceedings that is happening behind the scenes, if you want more information regarding some of the issues mentioned in the announcement, you can watch boracity magazine's video regarding that. also, some info regarding the featuring artist, loco, he actually auditioned to be part of bts but got cut early in the process and later won in the first season of show me the money (2012). as for the song, I don't think there's a much deeper meaning. the song is like a confession so it's very straight to the point just like closer than this

BIG HIT HYBE and ARMY has been going through alot of frustration. We needed a light happy song and that has always been part of Jimins personality. Do we know if its true his promotion means he's being moved to a special forces unit, away from tactical)

And the mv is a live performance 😃💜 This is from Bighit: Following his first solo album, “FACE,” where he sought to explore his true identity, “MUSE” documents his journey in search of the source of his inspiration. My guess is that this album continues where FACE ended. He is free now 😊💜

If you remember, the last song or music video from "Face"he went from an all black vibe and the very last scene he was dressed all in white. To me that insinuates that he has had an awakening. This song is definitely upbeat! It's happy! And the butterfly theme throughout his videos gives me the impression that he knows there is brightness in him and it's coming out. I also feel an undercurrent of sexuality. Not explicit, but implicit. I get the feeling that Jimin is gender fluid and this is his way of letting us know.

I don’t know why you would be expecting something darker than FACE…? FACE was very dark…you can’t get much darker. Just like Agust D-Day being the last of Yoongi’s ‘dark’, tortured era, Jimin has left the darkness of FACEA behind him. The definition of ‘MUSE’ is the opposite of darkness; so I expect this album is warmer and reflective of where Jimin is at today, emotionally - he is in a good place.

as some other comments have said please react to boracity magazines channel not just the one pertaining this issue but many of her others youll be way more informed on different topics related to bts. so basically a smear campaign happens EVERY year where multiple entities try to ruin bts career or make bighit untrustable or something that ruins their reputation and im not exaggerating when i say this happens yearly. think back to the hardships video how some BS happened every year. when its summarized and youre not given ever single detail it of course shows how horrible things were but you dont have it in your mind constantly since you didnt witness it first hand as well as so many details that werent included in the hardships video cause the video would never end if she tried to add it all. but now youre slowly gonna see first hand how things go the more you keep up with whats happening the more youll connect dots and see there no exaggerating and how bad things truly get vs the summarized versions. everything that you read in the weverse notice was from a few months maybe a year at most. now imagine from 2016 to now how many notices bighit has released and how packed they were each time with multiple different attacks happening. anyways so as for sojang they were a korean youtuber who made horrific and vile videos about different idols like serious allegations rumors hate trains its at the point where i believe maybe 10 different labels have sued them including bighit. idk if it was last year or in 2022 but a army posted about it on weverse hoping that one of the members see it and sue because they were harming so many idols mentally and ruining so many reputations V said "Oh?!! I'll proceed with lawsuits. I could earn some snack money. Mentioning my family and friends👍 Bye~" and "I just skimmed through and all artists, not just us, do not like people like him. All fans, ARMYs, may or may not have monitored him, but I will sue on behalf of those who got hurt but didn't have enough courage." like not kidding he said this word for word obv in korean but this is the official translation. after this theres been so many labels and news outlets posting about suing, taking them to court, them trying to apologize and pretend theyre sorry for causing hurt etc and then the update from bighit. hopefully this shows other people to stop just from the consequences.
