While this might sound like a club song, the meaning underneath is quite gloomy. It's about self denial and escapism, running away from real life issues by drowning in alcohol and wanting to stay in that "dream" of euphoria forever. I wish more people would pay attention to the sheer details and nuances of this album and admire jimin's insane brain. It starts off with : 1. Face-off : confrontation of the person/issues personified and drinking the remnants of the that person/phase away 2. Interlude dive : at one point, cheers from the concert can be heard, after which we can hear someone drive to the bar for a drink. This is the start of diving deep into the world blurred by alcohol and partying and music, a world where nothing's wrong 3. Like Crazy : as mentioned earlier, this is where he forgets his worries for a short time, he doesn't want this to end, doesn't want to be awaken, doesn't want to face life again 4. Alone : the morning after the intense partying where he's woken up by an alarm. It starts off with him saying he fell asleep drunk and doesn't remember anything and this seems to the daily routine, something he can't seem to get out of. He wants to snap out of it, tells himself it's alright and that immediately follows up with a voice chanting "lie" 12 times. Chills. 5. Set me free : realisation that he's the only one who can free himself from these emotions and he does exactly that. It's not a plea, it's a demand

this is not about a club hook up song. he’s having a face off with his female version/ anima. In bts’ Love yourself: HER era, all the members had a girl ver. of themselves aka anima but only jimin didn’t have one. Now finally it’s his anima! He’s facing his inner female self. Having a face off, that’s why you never get to see the girl and jimin getting together in the mv bc they’re parallel personalities. Moreover the background visual of a man and woman kissing and jimin standing in the middle, could be depicted as jimin wants to kiss both genders. You gotta decipher everything, it’s not that simple, has never been. Jimin said several times that this album is about himself and he would like to see how fans can interpret, get gis thoughts and everything and I’m so proud of this guy. Immensely proud.

I've decided to piece what's out there and throw in my own theories too. 💜 This song is so good! but its not just another love or club song. It's deep. Jimin said that it's about escaping reality to deal with one's wounds. The "she" or "baby" talking to Jimin isn't necessarily about a love interest but possibly represents Jimin's Anima. We see a girl whose movements mirror Jimin in the mv, they never meet before Jimin cuts to looking at himself in the mirror. What does the Anima means? - An individual's true inner self that in the analytical psychology of Carl Jung reflects archetypal ideals of conduct. Your anima is the unconscious part of your mind that works automatically, without introspection or awareness. Some psychologists believe your anima affects your dreams, fears, and habits (loop this back to what the song is all about). Also the Anima is an inner feminine part of the male personality. Hence the boy and girl kissing is probably Jimin's masculine and feminine side coming together. The mullet is also chosen for a reason -> boy = short hair, long hair = girl. What is a bit of both? A mullet. The person with muddy hands who grabbed Jimin is Jimin himself. What does the mud represent? I'm not 100% sure, but my own personal reading is its Jimin's depression during covid* and long standing anxiety. The wounds mentioned but not elaborated by our Mochi. In the mv, Party Jimin is interrupted by the mud and he has to go home to Sad Jimin. Which of the 2 Jimins is in the real world? I haven't figured that out yet :( Maybe both of them are not, hence the dreamlike quality of the mv. Jimin himself asked not to be saved and not to be waken up from the dream. This mv reminds me of Suga's SHADOW but we are dealing with a different part of the SELF here, one not explored by BTS yet 🙂. RM did PERSONA while Jhope did EGO. Jimin said that "Like Crazy" expresses the emotion of the moment when you run away from reality to forget your wounds.and he was inspired by the movie "Like Crazy". I don't know if i'm right but for me, the mud and dirt are a representation of his feelings, of how he felt in his life at this time, that of the pandemic. It's a really deep song and i love it. This is the song that RM helped him write and it shows. BTS are so powerful when it comes to dual meanings. on the surface its a sexy club song and they want it to be that way for people to enjoy it but they also know Army will be able to dig deeper and see the other sad. I am having trouble with the flip side of this song but I am seeing where certain lines can have double meanings. I can't wait to learn. Either way, Jimin is a true artist.. My interpretation of this song is that he was trying to numb himself in alcohol and "partying" during the pandemic but he realized it wasn't working because at the end of the day (or in this case, next morning) he was alone again. He said this song is based on the movie "Like crazy", the whispering parts are extracts from the movie. I find this song super sexy and fun but melancholic at the same time, the English version has clearer lyrics in my opinion and it made me cry.

The way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Except for the hidden track (which reads exactly like a love letter), I interpreted the album as him questioning who he is. Rather than alcohol (although it can be part of it, but I found it too on the nose for Jimin), it feels like he used to get drunk on the fame and his work, and not that he was without it he was questioning who he was without it. SMF touches upon how the expectations from outside sources made him suppress a lot of who he was but no longer. n his interviews over the last few days Jimin said that this whole album is inspired by how he was so depressed over the pandemic. He found not performing in front of fans so hard and there are many times over the pandemic there were behind the scenes videos were he said how hard he found performing without fans. It’s not a break up album. There's so much loneliness and desperation, under the cheery synthpop, I feel. He has said the dream he wants to stay in is BTS...so I took this song as a depiction of his anxiety during the pandemic, when they couldn't perform live, and he was feeling lost...he didn't want to be ripped from the dream, wanted to stay lost in the lights (of performing), didn't want the pandemic to break him. At the KBS taping Jimin warned Army that was in the audience that there would be touching but they would get use to it. I understand the one touching him was a bit concerned as well. After the performance some Army were not happy to see him being touched but again in his kind way he told them they would get use to it.... Jimin 2.0 has arrived :)
