You have to understand that what we see of their lives is 10% (Suga said it, not me). We know very little about what they really are, about their tastes, about their dates, only what they want to show us. What we have seen of JK and V is 10% of their lives, 90% we do not know who they spend with and what they do.
We miss hearing more from Jungkook, just to know he is doing fine. Military is hard for everyone, in the harsh weather and political situation, but as a proud son of his country, he will do his duty diligently. Evading the service was never an option for BTS, they are Korean pride and an inspiration to many. There is no privacy, you become property of your government, unless you excell in ranks or aim for a military full time active service. Fans wanting them "out of there" are only infantilizing them again and underestimating their abilities maybe without knowing it. Wish them well, trust them and let them be.
@@emacarvalho7889Military protects each soldier equally, unless incidents or inapropriate actions occur (at least it is how it should be). If the showers in Korea are still comunnal as I think they are, Jungkook will have to use them like all the others. And have to forget about possible discomfort, as he has no options. An idol that already went through service shared that during shower time his new soldier friends used to guard his space from curious eyes. It is what it is, not very pleasant, but of course not the same in all countries.
I know from what I’ve heard is that training is not fun at all. It can be very challenging mentally and physically. And bad things sometimes happen. I think they have had some sort of decorum and public group and entertainers and it’s probably not the same hanging out with ordinary folk. It’s a hard thing for regular folk. So it must be hard for bts as well. I also think they need army . I remember how they would really love having the fans and how disappointed they were when they did the Covid concert when there was no people. They’ve been incredibly strong going through perfecting being Bts. Now they have to change and be something else. And we know JK is particular about his Calvin Klines because we saw him fold them and pack them. It would piss me off if someone stole my personals as well. I wish they had a division for K-pop entertainment or just k entertainment.
Yeah, I agree. I don't think BTS want to be in the military, but I knew that they would serve valiantly, and yes...just doing what those before them have done. Plus, to be honest. When they are back they must KNOW how proud their country will be of them, not to mention how PROUD their Fans will be!!! I'm very proud of them, and still wish they weren't there. When "RM" and other BTS members in 2018 represented their nation at the UN General Assembly, RM was only 24 years old. His speech, which he wrote himself, is proof of what a wise man he is and I completely agree with him. I'm not surprised that BTS fans are inspired by this speech.

Most of our young men in the US will not serve in the military, but these 7 young men set an example. They are all on the older end of enlistment, and the youth look up to them. I am very proud of all 7 of them, but i would love to see them together again.
All I can say is hope all the BTS members are bring treated well and safe, because besides being kpop idols and all the fame, they are still someones son, a friend, a brother, a relative, etc, and they are being missed just like any one else,so keep that in mind. I’m surprised how much I miss JK. They all continue to amaze me with their ability to adapt and thrive. The idea of privacy being breached is nothing new, but political climate and the reality of of why they’re serving is what I worry about most.

The men in BTS are exceptional human beings, their gifted artist, but they also have incredible character and values❤️ regardless of their fame they try to do the best thing. A lot of odd things happen in the military not just in South Korea, but in the American military and it can be difficult to get justice. Regardless, they’re in it for the long-haul. They’ll get it done and take some time to get back in their own lives, and then hopefully make music together again. Thank you Dave I appreciate that you bring what’s actually been discussed to everyone’s attention whether it’s popular or not.

Well, I'm not 100% percent convinced they are happy there . Nobody in those conditions can possibly be happy . What I think what's really is that since it needs to be done, you might as well find some positvity there . He is not just learning to defend his country but himself too and heis doing brilliantly. However, I strongly disagree with some comments claiming people are infantalizing them because infantalizing is one thing and being worried is another because we all know what the people there are getting ready for and we all know what happens when you go to war. So it's natural for us to be worried. It's true though, that some people find themselves hostage oftheir own fear of losing anyone they love. When you get a positive state of mind, it may look like you're happy even in a harsh situation and that lifts a person's spirit. It's a defense mechanism. The Law is the Law , like it or not but it's something that is neither good or bad. It's something that needs to be done .The point is you're going there for two years. So you might as well get a positive mindset to not only make yourself comfortable but others around you comfortable too. BTS is a group that has been working hard for years and had so many hardships. Though things were hard , they 've learned to fight negativity. Having a positive attitude can be seen as being happy even if down inside, you aren't really happy. Because even when it gets dark, you can find light if you know where to look. And our BTS men can definitely do that.

Jung kook had just a little time from the start of his album Golden to his enlistment, I think that’s why he seemed to be melancholic even he was very! busy doing all the Lives, schedules and everything he did! They chose years ago to go to the military without any complaints and if COVID hasn’t been, they were all be there sooner and now all back, but that’s life. I agree with you Dave that the Military will look after public persons better after some bad cases in the past. It’s only a bit sad, that we don’t get very few information about Ji-min and JK cause they are in a base too near to the NK border and because of that here on RU-vid are many Vlogs with absurd rumours about them…

It is your opinion, but you don't know that the guys are not really happy about enlisting or not. That's not for anyone to say they aren't because we're not them. The way you worded it makes it seem as if you know for a fact that they're not happy about enlisting when you don't know for sure. I'm almost certain they would never admit it one way or the other. Just because they love doing music doesn't mean they don't mind finally getting a break from being "idols" for being soldiers for their country. Though they're still working hard, it can still be seen as sort of a break from the public's eye.

You cannot "enlist at the same time". The day of enlistment was never announced. Furthermore, you can rush to the enlistment office as soon as you read the news that the BTS have submitted their application for enlistment, but this only means that you will be placed on a list without having any certainty of either the date or place of enlistment. But even if they managed to sleep in the same dorm with one of them, so what? Do you think they will hug them while they sleep? They would be sent to another base. Will they go and break into their locker, in front of the surveillance cameras? They would have to return all the stolen goods and would be sent to another base. They do not keep cell phones in the lockers, they are all stored in one place: to get your cell phone you have to request it and return it after half an hour. Also I think you are confusing sasaeng with hater. Sasaengs persecute idols because they are in love with them, not because they hate them.
I think serving is a duty they have to do they dont have a choice, however they will be happier to do concerts because they build their careers blood sweat a nd tears for 10 years if they have a choice unfortunately they dont have that. I believe that all of BTS would rather not be in the military except that it is such a standard in SK. I do worry about them getting treated poorly by fellow troops.
How any of them really feel about it will never be spoken out loudly. It is a "must" for them. But honestly, who would be extatic to leave their careers at the peak, put all private matters on hold, change their luxury homes and lifestyle for army barracks, strict schedule and sharing their space with 20 other unknown men? Some of them will take the pragmatic aproach, some may adjust a bit harder, but they will all do it for 18 months. And for poor treatment, how you act twrds others is usually what we receive in return, unless we are dealing with a gang of total morrons. There are good people everywhere, who make up for the few bad exceptions.
I have one wish and that is that when BTS is all back they will get to see your channel. How you did do so much for them without even realizing it. That is why I am so proud to follow your channel.

I was definitely against them going into the military because I couldn't believe that, after everything they've done, they still didn't qualify for exemption. However, now that they've had to go, I'm sure they'll give their all, and they'll grow from this experience and come out stronger. I just hope they enjoy this as much as they can, and they stay safe.

It is not permitted to keep cell phones and cameras in the barracks. Furthermore, entry and exit from the shower room is regulated by the instructors, you cannot go and take a shower whenever you feel like it. No one tried to take pictures of Jin, because cell phones are not allowed. The military showers are a monitored place, they are not in a campsite. Furthermore, if someone had done so, they would have been reported and it would have been public news, like when the nurse went to give Jin the vaccine without having permission and the news of her arrest was all over the Korean media. A comrade of Jin's wrote a post on social media saying that Jin is a superstar even in the lower parts, and shortly after deleted the post.

I think that the military is fundamentally against everything BTS stands for. But I get that North Korea is a threat and why South Korea feels the need to force this. I think they were completely wrong to make BTS do it. Out of all the people in that country if anyone should be exempt it should've been BTS. I also think they probably had a memo sent out to everyone to be on their best behavior while BTS is there because they know the backlash if they were to be mistreated would be indescribable. I think the penalty would be severe for anyone found guilty of that. I think anyone attempting to do something like that would have to know they're taking their life into their own hands. Decades ago, it used to be mandatory in America. Incentives such as learning a trade, the government will pay for their college education, etc. enough people enlisted without having a mandatory military enlisting. Recently, the number of soldiers has declined in America, so it's not entirely out of realm that America might instigate a mandatory enlistment anytime or at least require for all adults over the age of 18 to register in case enlisting becomes necessary. As far as South Korea, war could potentially happen at any time. North and South Korea have been some what at peace for the last 50+ years, but recently tensions have escalated. The agreement both sides agreed to, North Korea has decided not to abide by any longer. North Korea has been firing missiles underwater towards South Korea for so-called testing. Kim Jung Uhn, North Korea's President has threatened that if South Korea does anything to tick him off that he will fight back. He's also ordered the North Korean military to be ready and prepared. They are not at war right now, but South Korea must be ready to protect their country and their citizens in case something happens in the future. So, all men are required to enlist before 30 years old. North Korea is also threatening the United States. The US and South Korea are allies. Some SK soldiers come to the US for training. This is what I've learned since reading about North Korea and South Korea/United States animosity towards each other.
