I highly recommend watching "A Guide to BTS Members" by Taylor Mari. It's a great introduction to them, and you will understand why they are the #1 group in the world!! Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. wuth Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time. bts are very versitle artists on the surface they may seem like a "boyband" but in reality they can do everything and theyre much realer than typical boybands. bts are also badass and risked being blacklisted by their government because they performed a protest song on tv at the height of political turmoil that would lead to their president being impeached. people hear their mainstream poppy songs and see the makeup, awards and screaming fans but what most fail to realize is how real bts actually are and how much they dont play by the industry rules to go farther which is why youre really just learning about them. its not only because their music is in a different language but also cause they refuse to give the industry money and by industry i mean white people who control the music industry. bts dont pay for radio play they cut off interviewers if theyre disrespectful and they wont pay for awards so majority of the awards they have are fan driven wins. even in korea bts are underdogs who rose to the top fairly when most do it with corruption. bts write and produce majority of their lyrics and mic drop is no different. rm even said this song was inspired by Obama when he dropped his mic at the end of his speech. and its also based on bts haters trying to ass kiss them now that theyre up. cause bts started from a near bankrupt label and many other groups looked down on them and many people in the korean industry wouldnt even give them opportunity so they turned to youtube and twitter and thats how they got big over here in the states and other countries. so this song is them telling the haters not to even bother apologizing. most ppl ask bts who are their favorite american artists and start naming boybands meanwhile bts would answer majority black artists. bts pay homage to all their inspirations whenever they can example j hopes recent collaboration with j cole. j cole is his idol since he was a kid. rm's idol is Nas etc i suggest reacting to bts hip hop phile lyrics by channel angie rm :)

I used to be so addicted to this song, playing in the car every day when I commute. BTS has so many bangers. Especially on my frustrating days at my old job at the time, I’d often listen to their cyphers and hip-hop heavy tracks on the way home. When I felt injustice at work, BTS takes it out for me in their music, because they’ve been through the crap of not being privileged.

Awww Mic Drop.. this is the song that got me interested in BTS. Fun fact this song was inspired by Obama literally dropping his mic after his speech at the 2016 White House correspondant’s dinner. Also as a Black American woman it is very nice to see more minority men gaining interest in BTS. These 7 men are amazingly talented, caring and hard working. I’ve traveled the world and have been exposed to different cultures and languages so it was such a pleasure to discover BTS and welcome their music into my life. Often we, especially Americans, put others in a box because often Americans are in their own box and choose not to open the door. You three men have chosen to open that door to be exposed to the amazing music, dance, lyrics, sincerity, honesty, caring, incredible work ethic of BTS. BTS, has literally saved people’s lives with their inspirational lyrics and kindness. They went through a lot to get to where they are now. I highly suggest you watch the Guide to BTS Members The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. It helps you get to know each member and their personalities. It’s told through English subtitles. If you prefer not to read there is The Most Beautiful Life Goes on: a story of BTS (2023 update) by Rice Squad that is narrated in English and the narrator explains how they got started as a group and takes you through their musical journey. Ok, so I suggest y'all check out the rappers first, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to: Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day and Huh?!, there's no music video but they're really good. RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video) J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good).
