Yeah. In November of 2020, yoongi had surgery for his shoulder. (He was hit by a car predebut and his shoulder got dislocated but he really didn't do much about it bc he didn't want to be kicked out of the company so he just told the other trainees he fell down the stairs. Well he dealt with that until like 2019 when he found out the labrum (thing that pretty much keeps a bone from grinding against another **why can't I explain this well wow** was torn so he again just dealt with it while getting shots after like every concert but that didn't work and after a while, like early 2020, he could barely raise his arm. So I guess he decided to get surgery finally and did in November. He was on hiatus for 3 months and didn't do choreography until 6 months after his surgery.) Okay that was a long explanation but for army, it was surprising bc he had basically never said anything about his shoulder..
PURPLE HEARTS 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 the line "we are not 7 with you" is from the song "we are bulletproof: the eternal", which is about their journey and dedicated to ARMY. that line is bascially saying how they were only 7 but now they are not just 7 because they have ARMY with them and tgt we are bulletproof. smtg like that haha. the mv has elements from all their past music videos since the very beginning in 2013 💜
And RM said he cried a lot writing that song. I love how BTS is not afraid to wear their emotions on their sleeves. They do not shy away from sharing emotions and crying.
This whole performance was beautiful - the black swan part especially is so stunning. There’s a cute fan-made compilation video called “bts when suga was absent for 3 months!” which shows how much they missed him and always made sure to include/mention him, if you’re interested in that!

I was blown away by this performance when it first came out. I love it! 💜💜💜 You’re right, this was prerecorded because it was in the height of Covid so they weren’t doing any live performances. That’s how they are able to pull off the transitions between songs. You also noticed that they are missing Suga during this performance. That’s because he was recovering from shoulder surgery. They made sure to honor him in their own way though. 🥹 This comeback happening in a couple of weeks will actually be very unique. They are releasing an anthology album with a bunch of their older music along with a few (I think there are 5) new songs. The album itself is three cds and the music on the 3rd one is only available on the physical cd. If you can find a way to get the physical album it will be so worth it! For another-slightly longer-video for you to check, out that will make you laugh, is their Carpool Karaoke with James Cordon. It’s iconic! As for the next song I think you should check out Dope (쩔어). I think you should also watch the MV with subtitles for Life Goes On because that one hit me really hard when it was released in late 2020. I think you’ll really appreciate it.
Those purple lights are called Army bomb🥺 They turn to all colors and they are connected via bluetooth in their concerts and like that the whole audience gets involved in their performances💜
You should watch the Life Goes On MV. It was very comforting during the pandemic to know they were feeling the same way as we were. They still continued to put out so much content and new music. The BE album encompasses how they were feeling through the pandemic.

Every performance of Black Swan is a masterpiece but this one with Jimin and JK doing a pas de deux was amazing. The way the support dancers became the water was so clever and required precision to pull off perfectly. They did quite a few performances while Yoongi was recovering and going through rehab on his shoulder. The damage was quite extensive and took a lot of therapy. How he danced in pain for so long is incredible. In the Christmas show he was represented by a snowman. Bulletproof, the Eternal really pulls at the heartstrings when they sing, “We are not seven with you”. They are always so thoughtful about ARMY. You have to watch the behind the scenes for the making of this Black Swan. You need to watch the mv of ‘Life Goes On’ which was directed by JK and the behind the scenes of that.

Luke, I am laughing/crying at your priceless reaction to the dance break in Dynamite! I knew you were gonna love it...total MJ vibes! I thought it was very sweet that they left a space for Suga as he was recovering from shoulder surgery. Believe me, if someone had told me 2 years ago that I would be head over heels in love with a South Korean boy band, I would have said Ummm, no thanks! I am probably old enough to be a Mom to all of them! But, here we are...thanks to my daughter when Dynamite came out in mid-2020. I think the next song you should check out (if you haven't yet) is Baepsae (Silver Spoon). There is no official video for it, but the one to watch is the dance practice (there are some live performances of it too). The first time I saw Baepsae, I was addicted for several weeks afterwards. Had to hear & see it every day. My husband would que it up on RU-vid so when I got home from work, we could binge watch BTS videos. The Baepsae choreo is awesome, and the funky beat is killer! The lyrics have a deep meaning (as usual with BTS). You might want to check out a video that explains what Baepsae is and the meaning behind the lyrics as well. I have to say, out of all the performances you’ve watched I felt like you really enjoyed this one most. And I think it’s because you knew most of the songs (life goes on not included) and had heard them and watched the MVs for them. You were jamming out way more than the other performances you’ve watched. If you hadn’t watched Dynamite first you would have had no idea that dance break was an extra gift they did for us. But you knew right away and you were so genuinely surprised!! On that note, now that you’ve listened to Life Goes On (minus Suga) I would suggest watching the music video. JK directed it. The lyrics are so so meaningful and it has a special place in ARMY’s hearts. Just my preference as someone who watches countless reactors, I really think listening to the songs and watching the MVs before live performances is the best formula to you enjoying those performances to the fullest 💜 hearing you talk about how you loved that you had heard the songs already prior made me feel this way too! just my thoughts of course!

My favorite live of it is from MAMA 2020 where they spent thousands of dollars on having Suga on stage with them in the form of a freakin hologram! 🤯 - The staircase intro to ON is actually a recreated scene from their early song N.O with the exact same line up (except for Suga of course), even the close-up of the boot at the end is the same. (Another great song of theirs - of course 😏 - critisizing their education system that causes many youngsters to choose suicide because of the extreme pressure)
As an Army Mom from the tiniest Island in the Caribbean. When they showed the map of all the Army around the world. I realized that there were other BTS Army fans in other Islands when they showed that TINY DOT between North and South America. I know...compared to the majority...you could barely see it but trust me - as I saw it live back then....I CRIED MY ASS OFF!! It seemed as BTS was speaking to everyone of us around the world.....even to the tiniest group......back when times were dark and our friends and family were falling from Covid. If I didnt say it before, Sir. There are many different BTS (new) reactioners/Army who have recently discovered them but you - you are special. From the second I saw your reaction to Pentatonix. Couldn't wait to once again relive the BTS rabbit hole through your eyes. Said it years ago and will reiterate it: When you cry...we cry with you. The award show performances they do usually mix pre-recorded video segments with the ‘live’ performance on the night (one example being the 2019 MMA Dionysus intro segment with the live horses). This performance was right in the middle of Covid lockdown, so I think it was all pre-recorded.
Nah cause yoongis part in life goes on hurt so bad after a while.. we only had one performance of it with him during the whole actual era (we had some after the era was over but tbh it made me want to cry everytime I heard it..)
In the Dynamite performance, the members were all dressed inspired by Michael Jackson. Especially Jimin´s moves and his black glitter jacket and pants with the white stripe on the arm. And Jhope with the hat and obviously the dance moves. Icons making a tribute for the king 👑

Personaly for "on" and "life goes on" I prefer the MAMA performance but it's a real nightmaire for copyright strike. The "black Swan" was prerecoded like the introduction for "on" like it's a year where the performance had no public it's a little sad but they really do a good job as Always.
I'd only just discovered BTS about a month and a half before MMA 2020, and this performance made such a huge impression on me! I Black Swan on water felt like a live theater production, and the way they defied gender norms with Jimin and Jungkook's partnering choreo blew me away. And then that MJ dance break in Dynamite, just so fun!! Now that you've heard Life Goes On, check out the MV with the lyrics because it's a very special song about living through the pandemic. And Jungkook directed the MV! Life Goes On was the title track for the album BE, which came out Nov 2020, and all of the guys took on new roles in the production side of the physical album packaging and music video. This was one of the their ways of coping with a massive change to their routines during the pandemic. And of course they recorded a lot of their process to share with ARMY!
I highly recommend checking out the Life Goes On music video and reading the lyrics. That song is really special to me because I was going thru a really bad pandemic depression. My sisters introduced me to BTS using that song (I was totally an indie rock girl and didn't think I'd like them). When I read the lyrics, it really touched me and it was the first song of theirs that I added to my rock playlists. It gave me hope that there was light at the end of the tunnel. From there, I fell down the rabbit hole and am in a much better place with my mental health now, thanks in large part to BTS. The video for Life Goes On is really cute, and it was actually directed by Jungkook. I also think you'd really enjoy the video for Idol, and I really love the video for the Japanese version of Airplane Pt. 2.

Bts never fail to bring something new and special with every performance… it’s so unique to get the variety … but the black swan opening is absolute elegant perfection. This was when suga had his shoulder surgery and was doing physical therapy and stuff. They actually called him during acceptance speeches and red carpet interviews lol he was watching at home for his boys to come out…. It was so hard seeing them missing one … and scares me that jin will have to enlist at the end of this year so it will be 6 for a year and a half to two years and we will lose one or two of them every year or so after that … heartbreaking so just trying to enjoy the moments we have ya know. Also that lift where jungkook lifted jimin up during black swan and they spin in slow motion always gives me chills right there with the musicality and how effortless strong jungkook is lifting jimin like a feather and jimin being so elegant and fluid to where he literally moves like a feather… absolutely top tier moments all over these stages… but ugh that lift just hits different!!! I also love that dynamite dance break … oh and jungkooks bridge in “ON” lol 7 stage legends owning that every single time!!!!

💜💜💜☺️ I was just starting this journey when MAMA 2020 happened. Black Swan made me cry so much. It was just so beautiful. Watching this here again brought back those memories of my first few weeks. BTS woke me up. They showed me that there was still goodness and kindness and beauty in the world when all I could see was ugliness and hatred all around me. They truly are the lights this world needs-both BTS and ARMY. 💜

If suga's absence during this show was heartbreaking you should watch when he returned, the boys gave him the absolute epic welcome!! Armys cried all over the world when they saw him on screen! In the recent live concerts in LA, Korea and LV they created a new Black Swan performance. Just gorgeous. They are super sweet, yep. What's more is for every interview for army they had a photo of Suga. After he came back they gave him all the photos, lol. They missed him so so much. The light stick is called Army bomb. The Life Goes On has 3-4 MVs. Pls watch. The song was written during pandemic and is on the BE pandemic album. It's beautiful. My first experience with BTS was the carpool karaoke they did with James Corden. It kept coming up in my feed and I kept passing it by thinking no way I'd be interested. Boy was I wrong!! I finally gave in and watched it not knowing a thing about BTS, and I was HOOKED! RM was so poised and well spoken! They were all polite and funny! And the music was so good! And I hadn't even seen them dance yet! I've been obsessed ever since! 💜

When the members are waking down the stairs it actually a lot like the scene from their music video NO. You should watch it. It is one of their earlier songs but has a great message. This Dynamite performance is one of my favorites performances besides Yoongi not being their.
That is why we loved the Butter Grammy performance but it’s not their top most tier award show performances. They are really performers and artists. 2020 is weird because Suga was out for surgery, but as always when someone is missing they leave a space for the missing member and also with Covid there was no crowd so this one is a bit… odd. Yoongi broke his shoulder in a vehicular accident prior to debut and it never set properly so it pained him for years. He finally got it fixed and he was on hiatus for about 2 months. You should see MAMA 2020 as well. There's a good surprise there.
