They deserve this recognition and more and it took a foreign power to acknowledge them. Their own Govt and media have downplayed their talent and achievements from the beginning. No one has brought more awareness, goodwill or won more awards than BTS. The financial impact BTS have had on SK economy has been huge. Why can certain people or groups be exempted as they promote SK prestige and culture but not BTS, who has promoted SK culture and traditions internationally? I have nothing but the deepest respect for BTS in doing their military service but I would have liked their Govt to acknowledge all that they have done for SK. Even if BTS didn't accept exemption it would have been a decent and proper gesture for SK Govt to offer it acknowledging the global impact BTS have. Instead, they use BTS members constantly for PR whilst in the military, every opportunity is used to publicise the military and or Govt.
