This interview was done just before Indigo was released and I feel that this conversation kinda inspired (is that the right word to use?) RPWP.

I think there is a little bit of an uncut version of this interview on apple music or spotify if anyones interested. There is a part in it where namjoons says.. Sometimes he feels like music isn't his thing anymore and then pharrell reassures him saying its temporary and he will go right back to it. It was a touching moment.

I always love hearing passionate people talk about what they love and I learn so much. This conversation between Pharrell and RM was enlightening to listen to the first time, but I enjoyed hearing your additional commentary on what it's like to make music just as much.

Fashion rant, shiny knee, passionate people, intelligent conversation, 97 you know, Jurn's insight, a good time. But we are still waiting for this collab!

I remember the negative comments made after BTS met and took those pictures with Pharrell at the BBMAs. Because Pharrell wasn't smiling and was pretty quiet, the narrative was 'Pharrell hates BTS' and 'why are they forcing him to take pictures'. And from this we know all he wanted to do was take them to his studio and start working! Just shows you should keep your hate to yourself when you have no clue. I would love to know what Pharrell thinks of RPWP.💜

I was honestly surprised you held off that long mentioning Pharrell’s smooth shiny ass knees! Man… we all like to have moisturizer skin but who oiled him up before this interview? This is one of the only times I have seen RM’s nerves reflected in his speech. He still did a really good job though. I loved this conversation.

I remember when I watched this I was just as blinded as you by Pharrell's oiled up knees 😂 There was a longer version of this interview on Rolling Stones podcast channel Musicians on Musicians (on spotify) and there they confirmed that BTS had already recorded a song with Pharrell but we are still waiting for that to drop 😑 On a different topic - I think you would really enjoy watching J-Hope's documentary Hope on the Street - its gives wonderful insight to what/who inspired him in his dance and also how he approaches music. Of course, I also want to hear your Jurn Rivers rant on his fits 😜I personally think he slayed every single look throughout the whole doc.

just a fyi none of the bts members are religious. they all believe in their ancestors and spirituality. but none follow a specific religion either by choice or cause their family isnt religious. most koreans are non religious and the ones who are believe in either Buddhism or Christianity. in their last ot7 live in 2022 they all mentioned they werent religious but prior/after the only members that went in depth are rm, jk and v. so rm said hes atheist but hes not against any religion and likes learning about them and is open to one day having one if he thinks it fits him. jk in 2023 on a solo live was asked about his religious views and he said he doesnt follow any religion because his parents gave him and his brother the choice to choose or to not have one since his dads side is Christian and his moms side is Buddhist so they didnt force either onto them so jk chose none idk about his brother (idc either tbh his bro isnt a celebrity) and for v he also said hes not religious but believes in angels and prays to them so i guess its either spiritual or he picks parts of religions he identifies with to practice but doesnt fully follow any. but regardless i love how respectful they are to religious people no matter the religion like theyre open minded about it and they dont mind adjusting themselves to make others comfortable. when they performed in Saudi they would pause rehearsals for the prayers they adapted to the traditions like not doing sexy moves not showing their chests not cursing covering the gold mic not bowing since arab people bow only to allah so bts bowing to the crowd would be disrespectful etc it was in 2019 i dont remember all the details but arab armys were very shocked and happy that bts adjusted for them when they technically didnt have to but they knew also if they broke certain rules it may have caused concerts like this to not happen again as i think it was one of the first times females could go to a concert so everyone had to be on good behavior so that the city or king would allow women to continue to attend concerts any arab armys specifically saudi please correct me anywhere if i was wrong its been about 4 or 5 years i may be remembering wrong and having details mixed up edit: i just looked it up again not 100% certain on how true it is but apparently women werent allowed in stadiums before this bts concert or it was very few times they were. also to just nip this in the bud cause i know someone will say it. they did not get invited by the king or govt they didnt perform or get paid by any organization connected to the govt it was a private concert made possible by citizens wanting more concerts and most people refuse to not be seen as aligning with the govt but in this case the govt had no involvement they performed for saudi/arab armys some came from other arab countries etc so while performances put together and funded by the govt should be declined this was not one of them.

As an artist isn't it exciting and yes scary and sometime's feels a bit weird trying something new but isn't that also fun trying something you've never done before or doing something slightly different. Doesn't it add new strings to your bow? I used to be very wary of trying new things as an artist but yeah its a bit oh errr not sure about this I don't think I can do that or understand but ok deep breath got my big girl pants on lets gooooooooo. It doesn't matter if it's a complete fail or whatever it's that stepping out of the boat.

This is the most nervous I've seen RM, in English cause in Korean I can't tell. I've seen him tired, bored, nervous but not a lot to say ,so it went well... But in this conversation I think once again he put too much pressure on himself, and it seems that for some reason he thought in Korean..and as you said trying to translate, and in Korean he has that polite, formal way of addressing. That sometimes comes ,I've noticed, when it's been a while since he spoke English. Otherwise I know he is capable of thinking in English and speaks like an American , almost, cause there's where he spent most time, still has some British in him, I guess from the things he's reading. So nervous here, he seemed weird in the way of expressing what he wanted to say, sometimes even in what he wanted to say in connection with what Pharrell just said... I can see how he felt looking back at this

I wouldn't even bother to sit down and have a conversation with someone so rude as to not remove his sunglasses. Guess I'm old school, but youngsters could learn some manners. I guarantee RM would never have done that to Pharrell even though he is nervous about sitting with his 'idol'.
