Hey everyone, a couple of parts ended up getting visibility blocked and I had to trim them out. The full version is on our patreon. Sorry about the inconvenience, not much I can do again!!!! Also please let us know if we should do just episode + deleted scenes or episode + bonus content. We only have time for one or the other, not all of them, apologies again.
It's okay as it is now.. go at your own pace. They are a group with 10 years of history...and its a lot of content... if you are up for it then it will be a long journey... good luck 💜💜💜
Hope u guys watching bts mv thier songs r meaningful & have lot's of hidden msg if u want to understand many people explaining thier mv in youtube u can check them out & thier interviews too from sugaarmy it's fun to watch💜 & yeah if it's not blocked then watch with deleted & bonus scene other than only watch the main video of rise of bangtan love your reaction. 💜
Couple precisions, it wasn't army who complained about misogynistic lyrics. It was antis. For context, bighit was still fairly small but BTS starting to get success so early on made a lot of people insecure. So fans from other groups were the vilest possible and some media were on a payroll to crucify their every move. Same for the J-Hope hate scandal, army had to trend "J-Hope you are perfect" for days to try to make him feel better. If you wonder why army is so defensive sometimes, we had to go through so much bullshit early on. And as we become the biggest fandom, our attempts of defending BTS just came of as bullying. That's why we always keep receipts of every interaction
Also it was the Korean idol culture I think. It was unusual for songs like this to exist in the idol world, so antis and the press really took advantage of the situation to hate on BTS. From a western perspective, these lyrics are pretty tame compared to songs we usually hear from Western artists.
Yea this is right. I still listen to War for Hormone and its in my top favorite BTS songs. It was one of the first songs that got me to follow BTS back in 2014.
I did my minor in Women's Studies and I'll be honest with my Personal opinion. War of Hormone is really not that misogynistic. It is being sung from the perspective of horny teenage boys. It might not be the most mature way to talk about women but it's kind of fun to see that and then see the kind of men they grew up to be (they drink their respect women juice). It's clear the intent is like raging positivity towards women. The execution might not have been perfect but yeah, if you compare it to songs we have here in the west, it's almost comical how non-controversial this song is. Anyway I love War of Hormone, I understand and respect that some might not.
There was also some discussion that the lyrics were translated in a more misogynistic way than they were written...I can't say as a non-Korean speaker. I agree with you...as they have always done, they were trying to keep it real with their lyrics and that's how teen boys think.
I agree, but at this early days, the big 3 media were already looking for anything they could use to give BTS bad press and this was one of them. They were smart enough to see BTS was going to be competition, but more than anything, they wanted Bang to fail.
I love War Of Hormone, and in no way do I find it offensive.💜 I think it's a fun, light-hearted, honest look and young men growing up; and how changing hormone levels start changing how boys look at girls. And they celebrate women. Even calling them a national treasure, and saying they should be protected on a national level. And that's hard to feel offended by. Actually, that's an amazing compliment.💜 And let's be honest, with only a few (very minor) alterations, it could as easily - and honestly - be sung by girls/young woman. Because we all reach that stage where we look at the other boy/girls differently. And women talk about how a guy looks, just as much as guys talk about how women look. And in much the same way.💜
@@leahwarburton No one is arguing, we agree, only stating what others brought up in media. and whereas there is some validity to that, and it's worthy of debate, it was blown way out of proportion. also, in a way it helped to educate young men on what was ok, and what is not. Girls are not a piece of meat, no matter what their hormones are doing to their brains, LOL.
Yoongi once said that the company's stance on their music has always been "We know you'll get hate for this, but if this is what you want to do then do it", which I think is so great most companies/labels aren't like that :)
11:22 someone already commented, War of hormone - majority of the armys don't have any problems with it. And it started to have negative attention only when bts started to became popular in 2015, so this shows that problem was with haters who wanted to find anything to shit on bts. Even now, every day they attack bts for anything, JK was attacked for eating apple on livestream, Namjoon for posting Frank ocean song (when a lot of other idols also posted this song before, but everyone just praised their good taste, but because it's bts, they attack) like, haters and those kpop stans who think their faves deserve more than bts, make hate trains just because they are breathing, they would study every piece of content, of lyrics to find smth. Damn, they be knowing more about bts than armys sometimes 😅.
We understand and don't mean to demand and cause you burn out. We just get excited with new reactors cos we want to show you how amazing they are. Please remember that your health is most important and we need to learn a little patience 😂 I personally love the song War of Hormone and do not find the lyrics misogynistic at all. I think it is unfortunate that the Western connotation of "do them" is what it is but I feel BTS meant they were just trying to solve the mystery of females by doing the equations. Throughout the song they are saying women are confusing to young men but they are amazing. No idea what the fuss was all about except from the usual haters tricks. Proud of RM for not biting, but apologising, promising to do better. I love your breakdown/discussion at the end of the video. When kick out J Hope trended, ARMYs quickly trended J Hope You're Perfect 💜💜💜💜💜 P.S. deleted scenes for now. You can always do Bonus scenes at a later date.
Hi guys! I'm only at the beginning of your reaction but I would like to point out some things. Like some other people said already, ARMY always has BTS's back. I'm relatively new to the fandom but I do notice the hate is real, even now. In early days Big 3 (three most influential labels in K-POP industry) feeled threatened by this new and different idol group. Bangtan was gaining popularity despite lack of backing on TV shows and no media play. Whole industry was and still is against them. They always downplay their achievements. Second thing, their rise to fame is all hard work of the boys and ARMY. Other fandoms get jealous and team up against ARMY very often. Antis very often find new reactors who started their BTS journey and write horrible and malicious comments pretending to be ARMY. I think these haters don't have life, because they follow all the content just to be mean and hateful. How sad your life needs to be to spread malice as your hobby? ARMY follows Bangtan example, we try to be kind, informative and helpful. Thankfully we notice antis in the comments very quickly. Thank you for taking your time to react to our boys! Regarding deleted scenes vs. bonus content. I prefer to laugh so bonus content is always my go to. Don't mind the haters and antis, just do you guys! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hi! I’m a 74 year old American woman who has been living in Europe for 35 years, the last 26 of them in Sweden with my Swedish husband. I discovered BTS in 2017. I watch masses of BTS reactions and “try out” reactors who are new or unfamiliar to me. There are very few to whom I subscribe, but you two have utterly captured my attention and respect from the very first of your reactions I encountered and I subscribed immediately. I am so engaged and delighted by your reactions! Thank you. I will share you with my “best” friend since we were eight years old and another BTS Army companion whom I have actually never met in person, both of whom who live in San Diego, California where we grew up. I am certain that they will be overjoyed. As a “kind” old lady, I assure you that I don’t give a flying f🫶🫶k HOW you continue. Just please, do it!
I love how you were talking about how it costs nothing to be nice during JHope’s part because some lyrics in his song Equal Song say “it costs you nothing to be kind.” Love the coincidence of that! 😂
9:30 I'm considered a huge feminist and War of Hormone is still one of my fave BTS songs hahaha. I just find it to be a silly song about boys singing about their crazy hormones that shouldn't be taken seriously. It's the people who take this song seriously that concerns me. But overall, yeah, respect to them for listening to criticism.
Next episode is the HYYH era, which is one of ARMYs' favorite BTS eras. We got so many good songs from that era and the music videos were insane too. Can't wait for your next episode ❤
00:30 ibwas worried about that when i saw no reactions these past few days😭 ISSOK! ARMYs tend to get a bit overexcited when we tend to find accs that actually process what theyre watching and not just go through the motions while reacting sjshdhdkd but its ultimately YOUR journey down the rabbit hole so I hope yall know to take things at your pace no matter how over zealous we get, its important that one enjoys watching rather than pump vids out for us!
Don't worry too much about it, some people go overboard sometimes. You guys are already doing much more than most reactors. Don't burn yourself out, you have all the time in the world to go through this journey. You guys are doing great 💜
I’m gonna be real, go at your own pace cause I know you guys are doing a lot. It’s been fun watching these again with you all, keep doing you. You all deserve way more subscribers cause of your attentiveness Personally I’d say go with the episodes and the deleted scenes 👍
12:05 also, when you see such hashtags #kickoutjhope or smth like that it is always done by haters, other kpop stans, etc. 2015-2018 was worst period, cause hate campaigns and smere campings were so vicious that some went through court
That's fair, you guys. I would prefer the bonus scenes instead of the deleted scenes, mainly because the bonus scenes are a bit more light hearted and they would be a good way to end the reactions for each chapter. Also do go at your own pace. There's so much BTS content out there and you definitely don't want to burn yourself out. Thank you for your genuine reactions once again.
What Justin said. Costs nothing to be kind. Coincidentally, J-Hope has a song that speaks exactly of that. The song is called Equal Sign, off his album Jack In The Box (2022), he also performed this at Lollapalooza. Hate'll paralyze your mind Gotta see the other side It costs ya nothin' to be kind Not so different you and I Lookin' for love in a different light Until we find that equal sign J-Hope biased here, highly recommend you take a listen! 💜
Your pace is mindblowing damn!! About the deleted or bonus, you could just decide after each episode if you want to lighten the mood (then it's bonus) or if you want more info about that time period (then deleted), or you could altern each episode
The crazy thing is, j-hope is objectively one of the most talented idols in the industry and everyone in Bangtan knew that from Day 1. I mean, he won almost every single challenge on American Hustle Life because all those professionals could see how talented he was. He has non-traditional visuals so he, RM, and Jimin have always gotten hate from kpoppies about their looks but the talent thing was ridiculous and I think couched in the fact that he's so well-rounded, he's not as immediately definable as the "guy who does x" and kpoppies don't know how to appreciate anything not all dressed up in bells and whistles. j-hope does everything. But the good news is, we're living in an era where there are hit tweets and viral tiktoks weekly saying things like "growing up is realizing j-hope is the only actual ace in kpop." He's the top of the top, a role model to so many young idols and rappers, and the finest man on the planet, too.
Thank you so much for these genuine reactions and for the respect you show BTS. Not many reactors would bother to take notes. 💜💜💜 It's been so fun to watch these with you.
10:30 these headlines are very misleading, its like a thing in kmedia atp if they ever bother to source their defamation articles the posts they lead to is almost NEVER a fan and always an anti😂 the song released before this was Boy In Luv, which also kinda has that fckboi vibe ykwim? so this song wasnt hated by ARMYs at all, it was taken in stride actually, esp cuz there were a good bunch of fanboys who stanned during these eras. plus i LOVE the dance routine of this one, they have sm fun with it shshsb
BTS deserved no hate for War of Hormone. It’s literally just like the things some “ARMY” are telling JK about releasing Seven. I think it was more of a shock since in kpop these things aren’t talked about. As a European, I was vibing hard af and was shocked when the misogynistic claims came out. I’m a female, you think I didn’t have the exact same thoughts about boys when I was a teen? 😂💜
@9:37 so....about the "m-i-s-o-g-y-n-i-s-t" lyrics & the controversy...let me clear the misunderstanding k-popies & some ARMYs hv..this was blown out of proportion by h@ters & Antis to create drama that time, which worked cuz k-popies & media latched on it... *This is going to long a$$ comment* Let's be real, War of Hormones wasn't misogynistic. It was just an honest song about what guys in that age range go through. They were straight up saying that they struggle with their hormones when they see a pretty girl, *and guess what? That's just being honest.* 👁️👄👁️ The title itself gives a clear idea to how they see it. A war. An internal conflict. And it's true to what guys in their late teens and early 20s go through. Bangtan has always been about talking about their experiences and being a voice of people their age. The entire album, Dark & Wild, was really just about the turmoils of young adulthood. In the title of the album too, you can already tell what the sentiment was going to be. The first 3 albums spoke about school and issues of teens. And then from there, the darker days of coming to terms with adulthood. And then the HYYH series. Everything was thematic with stories they wanted to tell as they go through life. Antis and fans of other groups were just grasping at straws to find something to shit on and unfortunately the media picked up on it and then some ARMY took it as truth and they themselves started talking as if the song was offensive. It isn't. We need to stop spreading this story as if BTS were misogynistic boys who needed to learn a lesson. Yes, Namjoon has learned a lot from the experience and has gone out of his way to speak to experts in women's studies, but I'm sure that whole ordeal also caused him unnecessary pain. *Now, My personal take on this:* I don't see anything wrong with the lyrics of the song. All boys go through puberty and the things BTS sung in this are just reflective of their experience going through that phase in their lives. This is the reason I love them and their songs.. they didn't hide anything and covered all the feelings/thoughts of a person who is in his/her adolescent...one can see them growing up from then till today…I personally don't find the lyrics offensive and “most” Armys as well..as I agree they are expressing the struggles of dealing with hormonal changes in adolescence, and I'm sorry but sexual attraction is the number one pressing issue in most hormonal teens regardless of gender. There's a couple of issues I take with people who found this offensive. First, the double standard. You can't tell me young women were purely innocent in their thoughts and feelings as they watched these young men dance and sing, they just didn't make a song about it, at least not publicly. Secondly, the entire concept BigHit wanted from BTS is a representation of the youth culture and the issues youth deal with as seen and heard through the lyrics and music of BTS, and of course everyone has or will experience sexual attraction. Yes, they refer to see through clothing and high heels etc, but I've seen hundreds of posts referring to JK's abs, Jimin's body rolls and shoulder "accidents" Tae's tongue...you get the idea, and while many comments aren't necessarily teens it's not a problem. There can only be an issue if the lyrics were implying that I'm only attracted to girls who wear heels and sheer clothing, not sneakers and sweats. Anyone who has experienced adolescence knows however that if they're sexually attracted to someone the person could easily walk around in a potato sack and an adolescent would still be entranced. A lot of people were offended by that line, "Girls are equations and us men just do them". Personally, I took it as "do them" meant they were puzzles to be solved, not a sexual act. RM was honestly shocked that people were offended by the lyrics and that they could be considered misogynistic. It was definitely a learning experience for him. He apologized and has since run his lyrics through a few professionals in women's studies before releasing a new song. They don't really release songs like this any more. *But to that a korean Army said translation in English were a bit off, which lead to misunderstandings and explained it saying : “I was kinda surprised it's translation was "do" because that part "do them" CAN actually sound offensive to some people, because the meaning of that word 'do' is not clear. However I can clearly say that it's not meant that way, and Korean version lyrics tell that. Words are more specific, and not controversial in Korean version lyrics, because it doesn't say 'do. That part in Korean is 여자들은 방정식 우리 남자들은 해 which says we men are 해 is a word for mathematics, and it means the 'answer/the final number'. So it means they solve. the complex minds of the girls. 해 DOES have the meaning of 'do' too, but its not appropriate to translate this part of the lyrics that way, because if u say it means "do them, it doesn't fit the sentence there. Since there's no Objectives for that Verb 'do' and that's... kinda awkward. plus. the context and meaning of the whole sentence is talking abt mathematics and Equations so what u said is true. It doesn't mean sexual way”* it's freaking mistranslation, if you don't belive me ask any korean, not only k-army but any Korean.. it was done to sabotage BTS's career..💀 BTS hv made few mistakes unknowingly early in their career and said things which can be considered offensive, as they were young but they hv re-educated themselves, apologized and never repeated the mistakes again..but I hv seen many k-popies and so called Multi Armys twisting many things because of that..take for example this song.. it's blown out of the proportion just to cause drama..and they were sadly successful in that..haters/antis tried every lil thing to bring BTS down & sabotage their career ngl.. *Now last but not the least* ..when this controversy happened, When joon apologized, The one thing that struck me about that was a part in the statement saying they took so long to apologize because they wanted to understand what exactly was the issue... And that part I definitely liked, I've never been a fan of blanket apologies.. BTS always try to understand the problem & try to improve..joon apologized because as the controversy was over "ppl were offended", he apologized for the ppl who were offended by this song, that doesn't mean the song was wrong, he was kind enough to take responsibility for it, ofc bighit & BTS took this issue (which was blown out of proportion) and apologized so that this unwanted drama surrounding the song would end (isn't that common sense) he sincerely apologised..but that doesn't mean that WOH is misogynist or objectifying women..like the title itself clears it out! "War of hormones" what ppl expected form this song to be like seriously?! Ppl who still want to believe that WOH is objectifying women are really dumb for me..like be practical..that's all i can say🤷🏻♀️ *I'm out* 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻♀️
wow i really love your commentary this is an amazing show. what i love the most is that you get to se BTS struggle and get better over time, along with getting to know them as people and se what they came from. you se how 7 goofy and normal boys became famous. all cellebs are humans and BTS is still grounded today as they where back then. you clearly se how fame hasn´t changed them.
The lyrics in question can be translated as: 1. The girls are equations, us guys are the solution OR 2. Girls are equations, us guys just do them Now, given RMs known intelligence and love of wordplay - which translation sounds more like his intended meaning? - especially given that the song is about guys *wishing for* and *courting* the girl of their dreams, it's not about players who already have the girl
Take your time guys .. i know it can get overwhelming.. be on your own pace okie 💜this is probably a lot already we appreciate it thank youuu .. it may seem pushy or demanding bcs most of us are just excited seeing genuine reaction channels because it’s kinda rare to see them .. most of them just do it for views so yeah .
that dance section at the end. they released 1 video with 3 different editing styles or camera angles because the music show was filming unnecessary things, like the audience or the stage with the audience from a far camera that you can hardly see performance.. THE MEMBERS SOCKS.. like it was filming everything but their performance they also did this to one of their MVs, not the official MV but the MV that focuses only on the choreography. it was hilarious 😂
I really appreciate your reaction videos of BTS, as much as i missed them i would love to watch RU-vid content creators reacting to BTS, i appreciate how you do your BTS reactions, thank you. I want to watch more of your BTS reactions help me ease their absence.. Thank u...
I’ve watched ROB with a few reactors but never went beyond episode 3 or 4. You guys are the most fun to watch this with and I am still here at episode 7.
I would prefer you react to bonus scenes over deleted scenes. To me deleted scenes felt like an extension of what we saw in episode + some new content which is already all serious moments. Bonus had more fun content from that era which i enjoyed - different fun and happy side of them
That MAMA performance that BTS did with BlockB, this@43:00 was my first ever BTS content i watched. Zico and RM had like a rap battle on stage, and once i heard RM rap, that was it. There were no subtitles, and even in the video dicreption, the only English word was Block B. I was able to find them and check out if the dude i was looking for was in that groups, but it wasnt. Then i started a man hunt for the "redhaired dude" from the video..😅 back then, within the Kpop community, there was only one reaction channel that was really popular, and that was JRE channel, so i went into his comment, linking that specific performance like crazy and asking if anyone know who this dude is, and after a while, someone kindly told me that he is actually a part of a group and the group is called BTS. I will propably forever remember how excited i was to find them and their content didnt dissapoint. My first ever comeback was ether i need you or run, and thats where my Journey with them started.. like 9 years ago..😅
I have my Army Bomb in my safety waiting for 2025😂😂😂 Jimin’s tearing his shirt is iconic! Our leader, is not only hot but a genius, love my Joonie💜💜💜💜💜💜💜OT7
i really do love your reactions and insight, i rarely watch reaction videos to the very end and i often skip the beginning part, but i watch these videos from the beginning to the end. looking forward to the next one, and hopefully also more full song reactions, maybe? go at your own pace and do it the way you want though. like you said, don't burn yourselves out. stay healthy and positive, much love
deleted scenes are imo better because they add context and show more interesting things while bonus content is basically just a funny moments compilation of the era each episode is about :)
I started being a fan since 2015 and had only means to limited internet. When I did have much freedom, there were so many content I need to follow through and did not have a chance to explore amazing fan-made stuff. Watching you and watching this series kinda made me re-learn the members again, especially with the 2018-onwards eyes. It's nice to watch this with you guys! Thanks for the genuine reactions. To me, it felt the most sincere.
I would just like to say that even though a lot of Armies were not angry about their lyrics in War of Hormone, it was a little misogynistic but they were just young people at that time and I’m really happy that they did learn from it because otherwise their music might not have evolved as it did. It is because of little things that they are here right now. All the positive songs they have about women now and how their style changed in their next album (HYYH) shows how they were ready to accept criticism at the right moment. I know a lot of people might come at me for saying this even though I love them more than my life, I love them because they correct their mistakes. Not everyone is perfect all the time and as they said, we should not worship them as idols but treat them as actual humans who might make mistakes. If they can admit their mistakes, who are we to say they were not wrong? Also, the hate they got for this was just too much though. I think every young teenager (boys and girls) do think like horny teenagers and so they thought it might be okay but it does feel uncomfortable to listen when you have matured and realised how women are treated like objects in this world. It does trigger a female rage in you when we are referred to as a piece of meat or only looked at because of our body. Also to the people comparing it to Seven (by JK) do not realise that seven is not in any way degrading toward woman so its fine because JK is a grown man now and can write music as explicit as he wants since it is not comparing the other gender to object. What I want to say is that they are the biggest and the best group because they have to power to change for the better!! They have and will always make mistakes like any other human but they take accountability and learn. They really are the best!!!
I don’t watch the news. I don’t listen to the radio. It always fascinates me when I hear RU-vidrs say: “I know you want me to talk less” or “We get hate/negative comments”. I am guessing that you two are doing this because you want to, you enjoy it. In my opinion why are people watching reactors if they don’t want them to react? Like what you said, “it’s not hard to be kind”. It’s not. If I don’t like watching your reaction I just don’t. This is your page. Do you and do it the way you want and when you want. You don’t make money from this. Enjoy the journey in your own way. Thank you for taking your time and doing this 👍🏻💜
Please please please keep deleted scenes if it's one or the other as it often adds more context to the videos. Bonus is good for crack content when you begin to watch them for BTS if you do. Thank you for reactions again ARMY get really excited when reactors are genuine and take the ntime to appreciate the boys so please do not get overwhelmed
In my opinion, the Bonus+Deleted scenes dont usually even contain anything important information wise, so you should just do what you want and IF you want/or have the time and energy for it. Theyre not that important.❤💜
Hey guys, as excited as I am for you to see these, you do what works for you. I’ll watch whether it’s bonus or deleted scenes. I suppose since you’ve been doing the deleted, stick to that. Maybe have a special taping where you run through all the bonus scenes- put it out in a couple parts, whenever you’re able. What’s important is that you’re enjoying watching the content, don’t let it get to the point that you’re not. Take care! 🎼💜
I'm still bitter about what happened with War of Hormone. That song was such a fun good time but antis and the salty industry were anxious to stir up issues. They were still pissed that the nobodies from the nobody company beat their new Big 3 groups out for a bunch of new artist of the year awards which painted a target on BTS's back. No one would care about a tiny group since they dont have the resources and access possible to make much noise or impact. Yet BTS winning awards so early on (that were seen as belonging to Big 3 groups by default) was seen as an affont to the stats quo. So when it became clear that they could be a threat, they got dogpiled on. It was sheer pettiness and an attempt to protect the status quo that ensured certain people could succeed while blocking the way for others. It's why we say BTS paved the way since the industry was invested on having roadblocks that only particular people could pass through with ease.
Yes, put Born Singer on your list. 😊 You got a taste, but missed a lot of the lyrics & song due to dialogue (flawlessly) mixed in. Such a great song, all shined.
It's crazy to me how much "War of Hormone" was taken out of context in an attempt to bring down BTS. It wasn't the fans that made the biggest fuse but antis that were trying to find something to pin on them because they were slowly rising up. To me, as it was also explained in the video and as you also seemed to understand it that way, it was more of a satirical representation of teenage hormonal boys while also trying to show appreciation to the female gender. Maybe with some lyrics that could be questionable when taken out of context but nonetheless. I was a huge fan of Eminem and that man was saying all types of shit about women but I never saw anyone cancelling him over it and yeah it is perhaps due to how normalized it is in the West in comparison to use such lyrics in rap/hip-hop songs.
One thing will still have to be explained to me in relation to War of Hormone: the fans found that this song is misogynistic... ok... but when BigBang released Bang bang bang, even fans shouted at genius ???? Bang bang bang is the first song I heard from BigBang and it's the one that made me interested in the group and especially in gdragon but he still has a woman on a leash in this MV but there it goes.
It was mostly the antis who where against the song they wanted to drag BTS most of ARMYs didn’t have any problems with the song it’s more evident because the song didn’t get hate when it was released they even said in their book that it was good choice that they released that song at the time since danger didn’t achieve the success they wanted and they considered danger a flop they said that war of hormone was a good choice and second song to fall back into + people and ARMY loved the song but as soon as they started their HYYH era and they begin to get success suddenly the hate towards them and war of hormone started so it’s obvious that the hate they received was not because of ARMY but because of antis and jealous people who did not want to see BTS success. I’m sorry for this long comment and my bad English I just wanted to share my opinion.
We definitely don't want you burning yourselves out! What about just slowing down and putting both deleted scenes and bonus into a separate reaction and alternating them with the episodes? None of this content is going anywhere, so you don't need to be in a rush to get through it, heh.
Don't worry go with your peace... Hmm with this last part - dance performance - it was for show - they wanted performance frim BTS and tyey did this big choreo but camera work was so bad like it was shocking actually bc it was big tv station and BigHit was angry bc they had take long time to prepare snd it was only dance and nit even tgeirs song and yhry dhowedythem so poorly, so big hit out on YT video thst you saw fragment and there was this performance three times was "good camera" second was "very good camera" and last was "do you want more?" And tgey showed performance again but from both cameras plus zomes long shots and close ups. It was really petty video. 😁 Hmm I would stay with Delated conntent bc this are framgents that autir wanted to out in episode but didn't have place for it. And Bonus are usually more fun stuff to get know theris personalities more and how much goof they are, and I think you can watch it at any moment when you will have time or want to, even if it is in long future.
For War of Hormones, I just thought it was a realistic depiction of how teenage boys thought. I didn't find it offensive. There are a lot more offensive songs out there. 💜💜
There were way worse songs and MVs in KPop at the same time as War of Hormone, not just in the West. This was a targeted attack at a group without the money and connections to protect themselves from the big labels who saw them as competition for their own groups and who had their hands in everyone's pockets, from promoters and venues to tv networks, hosts and the media. They could exert all kinds of subtle or overt pressures to go after or sabotage BTS in various ways, and they did. Many of the attacks failed to land or amounted to nothing much, but this one struck paydirt as the press ran with and exaggerated the story and forced them to act to address it. The hate was coming from Antis and haters not ARMY and not the general public. Same with the attacks on precious Hobi. It was antis, not ARMY. We LOVE j-hope. ARMY responded as soon as we saw what was happening, but he still saw it. It's hard to get out in front of these attacks when you never know where the next one will come from. ARMYs who lived through those early years have straight up PTSD and are always vigilant for attacks, and because there are so many ARMY now, it can look like we are the aggressors when we roll up to defend them. War of Hormone is ~not~ a misogynistic song, it's an honest self-parody of themselves as awkward young men who are hormonal, talking about popping pimples and admiring girls but not knowing how to talk to them. BTS decided to address it by taking the high road and taking the L on the song, mostly because they didn't have a choice. They lacked the power to stand against the antis on the issue when the press was playing along. So, they instead used it as a learning opportunity to grow ever more feminist and mindful of equality for all people in their lyrics. You will find BTS was and is constantly accused of endless things and all of it is total BS manufactured out of mostly thin air. The media colludes in or foments this, as does the music industry as a whole, both in S Korea and in the West. BTS are a threat to the status quo of the corporately controlled music industry. They are self-made and self-directed. I cannot overstate the amount of money and power that opposes them. The industry was right to fear them. Their company has now surpassed all the labels in S Korea and is changing the work culture and the creative culture for artists in S Korea and KPop. As their hold on power slips, the many crimes of the music mafia have been coming to light, and it's a huge mess. They are bleeding artists fleeing the labels and many former execs are in court or in prison or ousted from the industry. You might be interested to check out boracity magazine's video "why the music industry is terrified of BTS." Also - Why BTS call Jungkook "Jungkookie." The ie suffix at the end of the name is an affectionate way to call someone you are very close to in Korean. If you listen, you can hear them all do it to each other. Namjoonie, Jiminie, Taehyungie, etc. Sometimes captions will change the name to their stage name, and put RM, for example, when what they actually said was Namjoonie. j-hope's nickname Hobi is literally the Korean pronunciation for Hope with the ie suffix sound at the end, so Hobi, an affectionate form of just calling him Hope. You can also hear them call him Hoseokie if you listen, which is his name Hoseok with the ie suffix. If you are speaking to the person rather an about them, the ie becomes an ah sound, which you will also hear often if you pay attention. So then you would hear Yoongiah, Namjoonah, Hobah, etc.
I think Bonus Content would be more interesting to watch with the episode because Bonus content have more of fun moments and it's nice to watch it after more serious episode. :)
I just wanted to say something here, Jhope was the very first one i noticed in the group, at no more dream, we are bulletproof pt2 and especially just one day where i would literally follow only him with my eyes. At that time, i became an ARMY because of him istg so when this kickoutjhope nonsense was trending, i was furious and felt really bad
*Fans* did not have a problem with War of Hormones. Antis used it as an excuse to attack BTS. There were so much worse songs, even in kpop at that time, which were so much worse and received no criticism at all. War of Hormone was a satirical look at the minds of teenage boys.... 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Justice for War on Hormines and it’s very tongue in cheek making fun of themselves. But the flack they took for it was waaay out of proportion to even the demeaning lyrics of most other boy bands. I can’t even talk on the kick Jhope campaign by antis. Jhope is the sweetest and had such a burden but it makes me so sad for him and Army facing such hateful times. It’s why BTS has had a long anti-bullying campaign with UNICEF (their love yourself campaign) because they have faced it themselves. Instead of giving up or becoming bitter they became better. Ok the rappers release some seriously pissed off dongs like Ugh about such topics too.
Thanks for the reaction! Also I want to thank you as male reactors understanding both sides of the misogyny incident. I agree with you, the lyrics weren't that bad and depicted normal teenage boys, but I personally don't listen to this particular song because I detest the idea of women 'provoking' men or 'being equations for men to solve'. I'm really happy that BTS took a different path with their music. 😊
Those lyrics were mistranslations spread by antis, hope this helps :) They never said women "provoke men" and the equation line was in reality "women are like equations" so in other words they don't understand women and want to learn how to understand them, it had nothing to do with women being "for men to solve". There was a box explaining that they were mistranslations in the video too, but the creator didn't make it clear enough. Also the lyrics are bts making FUN of hormonal teenage boys and their thoughts, this becomes very obvious with the "I pop my pimple" line, it's not meant to be taken seriously or as thoughts bts actually have. It's in no way misogynistic, it's a little childish but that's the point because they're making fun of teenage boys.
They’ve said other times that this song was satire and meant to mock the way teenage boys act in a way. Im a straight man so im not going to speak for women but the song is still catchy😂
Of cursethe lyrics are a little off, however. have you seen the K-Pop girls? If you want to take a swipe at BTS how do you let what K-pop has their girls wear, dance, lyrics... the Koreans that started this had NO leg to stand on. and you are right, it was information. IT's biology.
@@DancingRain_1997 it's how young guys full of new hormones think. anything and everything has their mind jump to sex. it's the way animals, including humans are hard wired. RM was explaining this. a couple lines maybe went to far, however he was just being honest.
The song doesn’t appeal to me especially as a gay male but I understand how it can be misogynistic though I personally enjoy the song sonically regardless.
"war of hormone" is the first song i've ever heard of bts, it's the song that introduced me to them so naturally it has a special place in my heart, but i want to say, as a woman, i've never felt insulted or offended or upset reading the lyrics. i was just like, oh, that's cute. that's what the song is, cute. a cute song about hormonal teenage boys liking girls. of course you can dislike the lyrics. if the song made you uncomfortable that's okay too, just don't listen to it. but to call them misogynistic? that's a stretch and i really don't get it
Exactly. I love War Of Hormone💜. And honestly, when I first heard that it had been accused of being misogynistic, I was amazed, and confused. The song is an honest, fun, funny, and perfectly clear look at what it's like to be an hormonal boy. And that's okay.💜 And, as a 55 year old woman, I can honestly say that teenage girls are no different. With a few minor wording changes, War Of Hormone could just as easily - and just as honestly - be sung by a girl group. But I guess, if you are looking for a reason to hate someone, you can always find one - even if the majority of sensible, reasoning people don't see it.💜 Because that's the thing, anytime I have seen a discussion about War Of Hormone, I would say 97% of people see nothing offensive about it.💜 And the majority of that remaining 3% have clearly not been ARMY.
Hi! I understand it's quite overwhelming. Do take your time. Enjoy the journey. Knowing a lot of people still check out BTS is what we ARMY want. By 2025, we hope to see you join us for the next Chapter.
26:43 BTS RM kimnamjoon his song on his mixtapes MOONCHILD was selected by NASA to be played on anniversary of APOLLO this year with other BTS songs.....
Hi dears. 68yo Army here. In between Rise of Bangtan episodes you should consider checking out their "dance practice" videos. They're not actually practices but perfected performances showcasing their full one take choreography that you won't see in the Official MVs. I recommend their "Mic Drop dance practice video" to start.
I would also like to say that you do your contents at your pace and not feel pressured and stressed. I like the bonus scenes better than the deleted scenes. You two are doing great so take your time.
