Actually, the honorific "-ssi/-shi" isn't informal! It means, sort of, "Mr". If you're speaking to someone older than you (but still close to your own age) and you're not close enough to call them "oppa/hyung/unnie/noona" you would say "-ssi", and often the two are interchangeable, though "-ssi" is slightly more formal. So at 5:27 when she says "Jimin-ssi", she's actually not being informal at all: in fact, it's the opposite. Informal would be "Jimin-ah", and yes to some extent "Jimin-ie", but "ie" is also a subject maker in Korean so if you hear her talking and then suddenly go "Taehyungie" in the middle of a sentence, she's not speaking informally, she's saying "Teahyung is/was/did/does" (I can't remember which). So, since her and Jungkook were born in the same year, she wouldn't call him "oppa" because he's the same age as her, and she also wouldn't call him "Jungkook-ah" because that's too informal, she would call him "Jungkook-ssi" which translates (roughly) to Mr Jungkook. And some information about "oppa". A lot of foreigners don't understand the nuances of "oppa", and sort of assume it's almost always used in a flirty sense or is inherently flirtatious. This is not the case. Any older male is "oppa" to a younger female (bar much much older, in which there is a different honorific), so when she says "V-oppa", she's just being polite, but familiar. If she said "V-ssi", she's being polite, but more unfamiliar. In pt. 2 of this I believe, there's a part where she says something and then says "member-oppa(s)" to refer to the band. Jungkook takes the question and jokingly goes "Yes, oppa thinks-" by jokingly referring to himself as oppa (btw a lot of koreans do this where they refer to themselves in the third-person as oppa/noona/hyung/unnie. ie; oppa will take care of it, unnie is trying, etc.) because she referred to them all as "oppa" even though her and Jungkook are the same age so he was teasingly calling out her mistake. So, it's not him flirting with her in that instance, and it's not her flirting with them. So, yeah. I don't know why I took the time to type this all out since this video is so old. (ps. a lot of this proof was REACHING of course they're going to "stare" (look) at her - because she's the MC and she's talking lol)
