Hi Ed ! In Marlin I defined Z2 stepper so the order of the drivers from left to right is: 1 X 2 Y 3 Z 4 Z2 (individual) 5 first extruder 6 second extr. 7 third extr 8 forth extr.

Thank you for your thorough videos Ed! Without your videos I would not be able to make sense of the BigTreeTech documentation because it's very incomplete. May I suggest making a "Getting Started" or a "Start Here" video that walks you through from A to Z, in the proper order, the simplest route from out of the box to making a print. It seems that kind of thing is just unavailable and it would be super helpful.

I want to use this board with an external Stepper driver (3DM580S) for my 3-phase stepper motors. Will this board work for that particular setup?

Have you figured out how to get the BTT smart filament sensor working with marlin and one of the tft screens? I've been pulling my hair out to no avail. I have the smart sensor, octopus 1.1, and tft70. I've followed all the firmware guides but it still triggers immediately over and over. Doesn't matter if it's plugged into the octopus or tft. I've tried many different combinations of firmware settings and can't get it to work.

Hi Ed, Fantastic video! Question for you - I am looking to run 4 Y-Axis stepper motors for my printer. What would be the best course of action to get this to work with the board? Wire the steppers in series and enable "dual Y" in Marlin? Or is there a way to define what each stepper plugin does/is for in the programming of the board? Using arduino I suspect? Still new to building custom printers and would greatly appreciate some input from a master maker like yourself!

I have watched all the videos on the octopus board. I have a strange issue. I am running this board on a 400x400x500 ender 3 with a idex conversion. I've printed a few things and they turn out great. But after a few prints I tried printing something a little taller. It seems like my Z is losing position. Let's say the model is 180mm tall. It would print the first half perfect all of a sudden I checked on the printer and the z is like let's say 280mm high but it thinks it's 170mm on the screen. I don't even know where to start to look. I'm running 2209 steppers. Thank you if you have any suggestions. I'll keep messing with it.

Could you use one of the extruder steppers as another axis stepper

Nice Video, unfortunately I can't connect my motherboard to the Computer, there is no com Port generated and no connection sound from windows. do I need some special printer driver for this? I already have the CH340/CH341 Driver

Hi, i really like your videos, you explain eerything very well. however, ive been having trouble getting any of my endstops to work. Every time the (switch) endstop is triggered, the printer crashes giving a "printer halted, kill ()" error. I've already swaped the connections every which way, and followed your video to the click and still keep having the same issue. Could you please help me? Thank you very much

I have a CR10s, I want to buy Octopus V1.1 with TMC2209 V1.2, :). I haven't ordered from Amazon yet, but I wanted to see if I could build the software. Surprise !!!! It went right away !!! wtf. Thanks for everything, aaaa one more thing for those who use MAC, put the Marlin 2.x folder on the desktop, so you don't have problems with write permissions. I would still have a question ... I have the classic blue screen with 2 plugs, do I have to change something in Marlin to make it work ??? or does it go straight like that ...?

Hi, Can the 3D step files be downloaded? I have problems downloading the step file they listed in their github. When I click download it will pop out a new window with long geometry codes of the model. Do you know the solution to this? THANKS.

there are 3 positions for fan jumpers so should be 5v 12v 24v otherwise would make no sense to have 3 positions

Redundant material that’s been produced 100x over now, and time that could’ve been better spent putting together a guide for RRF or Klipper. Goes without saying it can be a challenge for even seasoned 3D printing enthusiasts, especially early adopters like myself. At this point if a user isn’t capable of compiling Marlin and referencing pin outs they don’t have much business with this board in the first place. And just my opinion but knowing your material 100% prior to a video like this seems pretty important, not knowing the basics such as ability to select between 5v, 12v, AND 24v for each individual fan header just makes you look silly. 😉
