7:38 Of all the indignities the very first Slayer ever had to endure in her long, cruel life, sharing dream space with a bald nerdy guy obsessed with cheese slices while she's trying to communicate something very important to her 20th century descendant was arguably the worst.
I can't remember where I heard it, but someone once said the Cheese represents Buffy and that's why the Cheese Guy is in everyones dream. But Joss shot it down...Because that's how he is. He came up with a lot of good ideas, (Though I don't want to give him TOO much credit as he was far from alone, IE BTVS had some VERY good writers let alone the actors own quirks and charm) but Joss really isn't a good person. He'd lie just so no one else was right...And that's of course only one example. The Cheese representing Buffy, makes perfect sense. think about it.
@@unknownanonymous1662 A mouse is playing with my knees: Foreshadowing Dawn (the mouse) attempting to resurrect Joyce (who is "behind/entombed in wood") She likes cheese: (Buffy likes Dawn; foreshadowing the arrival of a sister [part of herself], for whom she's willing to sacrifice all else) I've made "a little space" for the cheese slices: (altered reality to fit Dawn into Buffy's life/ Buffy's grave when Willow resurrects her underground) Cheese will not protect you: (Buffy will choose Dawn over her friends/ Xander loses an eye, Buffy not present at the battle) I wear the cheese, it does not wear me: (Giles, as watcher, tires/"wears" down Buffy with her slayer calling, but is himself surplus to requirement/there voluntarily at the end; he assumes the role of watcher, but no longer in any official capacity) cheese man wiggling cheese: He's standing between the First Slayer and Buffy drawing a connection between them. "That's it, I'm waking up"; resolving to explore her potential as Slayer by revisiting the Slayer lineage.
@@chrissedaka8141 Doesn't work as you use the cheese to represent all kinds of different things. It doesn't work if one same person and object has so many different meanings... You're trying hard to make the man and his cheese fit into your ideas instead of finding a real connection. The cheese and the man most probably represent Buffy indeed, but there isn't any deeper meaning than that.
3:18 "Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?" *(FIVE DEATHS AFTER BECOMING BUFFY'S FRIEND)* "There is no god, life is a cruel joke, death is the punchline, and the only thing standing between me and the abyss is a valley girl."
You know you've watched BTVS way too may times when "out of context" you still know exactly what is going on, what will happen next and what episode each clip is from...🙄
Poor Amy. But that was some pretty good dark humour with turning Amy back into a person, seeing how happy she is and then having her turn back to a rat, also letting us see the look on her face as she realizes what's about to happen.
@@missnaomi613 I know that genius. I've read the interview with Wedon about how he was just supposed to be representative of the a random meaningless weirdness that pops up in dreams. But still, my gut reaction every time I watch "Restless" is "what the hell is up with that dude?" I always had a secret theory that he was supposed to represent Riley. This was because when he was first trying to talk with Buffy he asked Willow for advice and she told him Buffy liked cheese (at 7:14). Which of course ended up causing some rather awkward small talk between them.
i like the idea that a cheese slice obsessed demon has gotten away with their plan to infect the human subconscious and its so diabolically banal and non sensical they can get away with confronting the slayer in the dream dimension without being recognised
I think Spike is limited even though I don't know what that word means maybe thingy doesn't work in other words he can't perform I think I figured out what that workman I don't need to dictionary
The in Buffy that's not here . That I find most hilarious is what his face sitting there idly doing something and Buffy and Xander chasing each other in the background. With a rocket launcher by the way LOL.
Xander and Cordelia Buffy and Spike Willow and Oz ( I know she turned out to be Lesbian, but before then I really like them together) Giles and Jenny I would've been so happy if these ships sailed
