Deliverance is a slept-on album. That is a great album front to back, and cohesive throughout musically and theme. Amazing work. Still great to listen to until this day.
Crazy hearing this story. That was at the Anger Management Tour stop in Atlanta in 2003. I actually met Bubba at that show. He was just walking through the crowd but I first noticed him because he had on a Cleveland Browns jersey. And I was thinking in my head like “damn that dudes jersey is hard as fuck” (this is when throwback jerseys were really poppin). Then I was like “hold up is that fuckin Bubba Sparxxx”!!???? He was super cool & down to earth. I met Scarface that night too. He was the same. Cool & humble just walking through the crowd. I remember when I was talking to him I was smoking cigarette and he asked did I have another one. When I tried to give him a Newport he was like “oh hell nah that shits too strong for me”. Lol. Still have both autographs I got for them that night. At the end of the show the when Eminem was walking off stage he was like “Bubba Sparxxx what up, I see you” into the mic. I actually always wondered if they ever linked up that night. Never knew if they did until I saw this interview today. Funny too that how I felt meeting them was prob how Bubba felt meeting Em. Especially Scarface because I grew up on him & Geto Boys as a kid.
Def was fire from "UGLY" to that Purple Ribbon All Star album. Em always gonna be the best white rapper, because he's one of the greatest RAPPERS of all time. But Bubba always gonna have my respect, Lil wyte, and Paul wall Def had they run and moments too.
It’s true, back in the day labels were passing over whiteboys left and right , avoiding them like the plague, for good reason most were terrible until Eminem started to change people’s perception of who could be skilled in the realm of hip hop
Jimmy Iovine prolly asked Em to spare Bubba since he was an Interscope investment. But Em did diss him & Paul Wall later on. T-Bo da Firecracker is another dope white rapper who didn't make it to the level that he should have but I like his music more than Bubba & Lil Wyte or Haystaks..
Yeah but the manner in which Em dissed Bubba was a lot more complimentary and respect based than the way he son’d Paul and the other cats he was talking bout lol. And cool on T-Bo if that’s your preference it is what it is…But shit Bubba & Stak was closer to being as dope as Em than T-Bo was to Bubba or Stak
In the song My Darling he bigs up both Paul and Bubba. I know it came out before Goat but I don't think goat was an official release. Like, on an album or anything. I could be wrong. My Darling was from The Relapse: Refill album i believe.
2 me bubba Mr ugly was fit 4 hiphop more than em way betta his flow n lyrics with albama talk idont giva fuck wut other say em iz gimic troll mimccopy styles of others joker only.
They were on the same label were you listening or just getting your stan Gear ready, and they asked him about em. Do you even KNOW who Jimmy Iovine is?
Good question, because his hype came from him being this really good white rapper from the south who was affiliated with Missy and Timbaland. Even in their interviews they talk about him being white.
He is still right though, you dont see Tom Macdonald at any primetime shows on cable, and he might be rich and famous in some circles but he is not an artist the majority of the public is aware about.
Uhm, I would have to assume you are really young. Easily impressed. I’m not trying to insult you. However, everyone doesn’t know Tom McDonald. I just asked 3…now 4 people and they have no idea who he is and they are 16-37. The only reason I know who he is would be due to him using Em’s name for clout/marketing. TechN9ne is rich, famous, and independent. And he never used clickbait music and shock-tactics (think Ben Shapiro) for attention. Tom is a talented rapper. But not that many people know him, like him, and follow him. He is easily forgettable until he does something to make particular groups mad. But Tom is the equivalent to those over the top pranking channels.
@@Rumplegirlskin exactly the point of being independent. Here Bubba is looking to make it off a duet with Em. Stop hating the independents. They are not controlled. Mainstream artist are sheep
Tom isn't famous. This generation gotta stop with the false labels. Tom is popular. Nowhere near famous. The average person doesn't know him, because he's not famous
Wrong Bubba !! You can get rich and famous being an Independent Artist!!! Tom Mac Donald is living proof of it!! Don't believe me? Check out his 21# billboard plaques,he has been featured on Rolling Stone magazine, New York times, his songs get played on radio, and I really can go on,however ,I'm just saying 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Then you clearly don’t know the history. You can’t even compare the two. Totally different styles, but neither were only good “for a white” rapper. And you’re going off of names? Bubba is a truly Southern term, you know, where he is from? But with all the “lil” this and that, Drake, Kid Kudi, black guys called ‘Migos’, Lil Yachty etc… please tell me what a ‘great’ rap name is 😝. At least “Bubba” matches and fit. And your username is Payy-Z… you have a lot of nerve.
