The music was BRILLIANT in Bubsy. And the game was fun. Getting blasted up by a manhole cover, riding a rollercoaster or train, a level full of waterslides. I love the train and jungle music so much. The SNES soundchip actually overcomplicates or gets the mix odd - MD/Genesis has most fitting sound.
I remember this game as a kid and although Bubsy has not had much success and the game sequels are not great games... Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind is actually a game I consider to be fun. I actually didn't mind this game, there are obviously much better characters and games but this was a good pass time for me.
I grew up on this in the mid 90s. It’s 2019 today and my 5 year old son is playing this on the snes. I have both the console and the games I grew up on, times may have changed but kids are the same, it doesn’t matter it’s 2019 or 1995, he loves it.
I never got why everyone blasts this game I remember playing it on SNES a few times and loved it and hardly died unlike much of the critics of Bubsy in their walkthroughs lol. The first one was great but can agree the sequels got worse.
+Lieutenant Yoshi I guess because the game has 1 hit deaths, plays like a loose Sonic game and platforms like a Mario game? Imagine if every Sonic game had 1 hit deaths and no spin-dash to defeat enemies while running.
The game isn't well made, but it has potential. Slow Bubsy down normally but give him a run button and maybe a rolling pounce or something for a protective attack when we do run, either do a double jump flip into the glide (Like Woolies Strike Back) or maybe direct his glide like Super Mario World. I would also provide a buffer for a hit. Maybe have Bubsy take a hit and lose a bunch of yarn until he loses it all. Makes sense, since the Woolies want his yarn for their power sources (I think. Theyre called Woolies because wool, so...) basically, something for everyone. Slow, explorative gameplay or speedier gameplay
I remember fighting with my brother to try have a turn playing this then we got addicted to playing - when it’s 1996 and you are 8 years old - the super Nintendo was life - the rollerblading - great game .
I love this game, but holy fuck it's difficult. To call the physics "floaty" would be an understatement. You have to embrace the fact that you're flying around uncontrollably.
I actually liked this game as a kid. Riding in the roller coaster was pointless, yet still fun. And I still remember the cheat to get to the train level, which was my favourite STGRTN :P It was hard, but unless you played it as a kid, you have no right to judge, it was good for the time and I was stoked to finally beat it. Also, Zombies ate my neighbors was the best snes game.
Este juego realmente marco mi niñez en aquellos 2005, 2006, 2007 años que no volverán, que nostalgia sin duda me regaló muchos buenos ratos de diversión :))
I got the game from my mother when I was 9 years old, and now I am 25 my mother always looked when I play this. unfortunately my mother died of cancer 3 years ago. lovely game
I really enjoy this game. I actually purchased it when it came out. Not only is the play (action) fun, but the little details are endearing to me. You start with nine lives, if you leave him standing in one spot for awhile...well you gotta try it, and give him a full minute. Plus he dies in different ways, there is also many paths you can take, so you won't get bored easy if you die a few times in the same place.
This game is okay. If Bubsy wasn’t so fragile, it would’ve been much better. This is still the best of all the Bubsy games. Yeah, not saying much, but this is the only one that seemed to have some level of polish to it.
This game is really underrated. I can see a lot of potential in this, and I know Accolade really tried to make this a good game. It was praised by gaming magazines, and when that happens, you know it’s a good game. It’s just that people these days don’t really give it the credit it deserves. I know you guys would say Bubsy copied Sonic, But he was inspired. I mean, the Creator played Sonic 1 14 hours a day! Bubsy is a good game, and was given time to be made. I believe Bubsy deserved his comeback to the public again. I hope Accolade makes Bubsy: Paws on Fire a good game.
This version's soundtrack is better than the Genesis version. Bubsy could have had more ports such as the Sega CD under Super Bubsy and the Game Boy Advance in 2002 along with Bubsy II in a single cartridge entitlted "Bubsy TwoFur" ported by Atomic Planet Entertainment.
I threw my first rage quit because of this game and started mocking him "What could possibly go wrong!?" I wonderrrrr. Nicely done on this. Brought back many memories.
Wow! Watching this video brings so many memories... Bubsy was a pretty entertaining game, specially for 10 or 12 y.o. Solving those door mazes was really satisfying, but the process was infuriating. And the ending was completely dissappointing.
0:14 What could possibly go wrong? I don't know. You're pretty safe with a chapter 1 called "Cheese Wheels of Doom". So I'm willing to admit that *EVERYTHING COULD GO WRONG!*
Hope I want the prototype to be in the next Nintendo gigaleak, the splash screen used Ballistic's logo and the sound driver is most likely the same sound driver variant used on Mickey's Ultimate Challenge, meaning that the songs are in a different arrangement.
I could see why this game was terrible if you were a teen at its release, but for a kid who played this in 2000 as a 10 year old, I enjoyed the randomness of it. It’s cheesy fun in my eyes. I don’t want a remaster but it’s good to watch on RU-vid!
Buzby From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the yellow cartoon bird. For the snooker player, see Neal Foulds. For the ceremonial military headgear, see Busby. For The video game Bobcat, see Bubsy (series). A badge featuring Buzby and his catchphrase A badge featuring Buzby and his catchphrase Buzby was a yellow (later orange) talking cartoon bird, launched in 1976 as part of a marketing campaign by Post Office Telecommunications, which later became British Telecommunications (BT).[1] Overview[edit] Buzby appeared in a series of television commercials with the catchphrase: "Make someone happy with a phone call".[2] Buzby's voice was provided by Bernard Cribbins. The campaign spawned many marketing items, such as toys, badges, a comic strip in TV Comic, and books, and lasted until well into the 1980s. British Telecom produced and sold a "Buzby" wrist watch with Buzby perched on the second hand. The watch had a blue strap. The only good bubsy game The sequels were mediocre Bubsy 3d was horrible Maybe accolade could learn from their mistakes with bubsy the woolies strike back
I cant get why Bubsy is "bad". yes, it have some unusual rules, like there is fall damage, but come on, you cant fall from height without any scratch. However, thing i really like is that Bubsy have "multilayered" design. Usually you can choose different path towards end, on ground, on top of mountains, on sky platforms or even underground. This game is also LOADED with secrets. Its sure adds to replay-ability. For the bad things i guess its somethiat annoying second half of game, river and forest, as well as kinda boring and bland looks of Forest levels. Albeit i thing music inriver levels is awesome. Boss fights is real pain in ass. Every fight it feels like Bubsy simply bounse all over screen and you have almost no control over it. Boses also very boring and made without any imagination. Best part is Train and prairies part imho.
Because this game has many flaws that ruin the enjoyment of this game. Sure it’s got good music and presentation. But Bubsy dies in one hit as well as dying from falling damage without him floating! Seriously, how does a bobcat float across the air with two arms? It would make sense if he was a flying squirrel, bird or a bat. Bubsy’s voice also can get really annoying to people and the puns are just terrible. As a result, Bubsy was criticised for having the worst gameplay mechanics as well as being an annoying try hard mascot in the 90’s, he then infamously made himself a name on the internet in the future, which somehow led to new Bubsy games since he was getting attention from people for having terrible games and other famous RU-vidr’s reviewing the Bubsy games.
This game.... I'd never played it and this is my first time actually watching gameplay of it... and I have to say, it's not as bad as JonTron made it look, but that DOESN'T mean it's good. He's right on one thing, the game builds speed as if it wants you to go fast, then completely PUNISHES you for doing so. If you're gonna have high speeds in a videogame, always put it in an environment where it ENCOURAGES the behavior. Not like "OH, YOU'RE GOING AS FAST AS THE GAME IS DESIGNED TO ALLOW??? NOPE. HERE'S AN ENEMY APPEARING THREE TIMES FASTER THAN YOUR REACTION TIME ALLOWS. HAVE FUN." The person playing this constantly having to halt their momentum to make sure they don't plow head on into an enemy or pit is, while smart, not the best thing.
+Kirozane Yah. Constantly stopping to make sure you're not punished with a 1 hit death for going fast is way too jarring to make this game more then passable. Also his voice makes me wanna shove him through a wood chipper feet first so he stays alive as long as possible.
I never actually realized that the jungle level was supposed to be a jungle. I know how stupid that sounds but hear me out. See I had willed myself through this game a lot as a kid but could never get to the last level. Now when I was little I loved the logging level, with the beavers, the river at the bottom and the pencil eraser bounce platforms. Then after that comes this level of giant trees and mountains in the BG so I honestly thought I had gone from the Woolies logging camp and deeper into the woods. It never occurred to me I was in some jungle I thought I was deep in the Appalachian hills or something around sunrise.
I never played this. I know about this guy. I know about how supposedly bad this game is. I'm not gonna lie and say I agree. Once I actually play the game on an emulator, I can give a proper opinion. The game is bland at best. It mostly appeals to little kids who like a new laugh and a new cartoon character to see. The appeal is in the presentation, as the graphics are actually pretty good, and the soundtrack is unique as well. And of course Bubsy is amazingly animated. His shtick will wear on you after a while, but with Rob Paulsen at the mic, it's like Yakko Warner as a bobcat. All in all, I kinda wanna play it for myself to form a proper opinion
i once rented a bubsy game, i couldent get past level one because i couldent find the way. dunno wich version it was but it was around 20 years ago. Would love to give it another go on my emulator if i could find it. i remember a flag, ofc bubsy etc.
i love the old bubsy games and still do today.... its a shame that the 3rd one was 3d and was a horrible game... most probably the worst game on the ps1 and it was because of bubsy 3d that he had to be put down at the local vets...
