Bucha, a small town 15 kilometers from Kyiv, was the site of a true massacre carried out during the Russian occupation in the spring of 2022. Several hundred people, men, women, and children were killed with as many as 9,000 war crimes being committed against the residents of the town.
Much has changed since those days, as the citizens strive to repair and rebuild the damage that was caused by the actions of the occupiers. But the memories of those days will stay with those who lived through it forever. Traces of the mass murder that was inflicted on this area of suburbia have been preserved to this day.
Kyiv Post went to the scene to interview those who now live there.
