This guitar has a great legacy and a bright future. It's a family owned instruments that has been a studio guitar relegated to nashville high tune filler tracks. After I'm through with this guitar, I'm betting it will be the go to tracking guitar. Watch this before video and subscribe so you'll see the follow up after video.
Here is a song I recorded with Patrick at his Studio in Austin, TX

Here's a link to his studio

As long as most of the guitar is there, I can make it play again.

The Harmony guitars were made at their Chicago factory, now sadly gone. For the very reasonable cost of less than half what a Martin or Gibson sold for, it was a very good choice. Quality wise they were way better than anything else in that price range. Most were birch with straight side to side rather than X bracing. There’s one on display at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace venue in Bakersfield. It looked well constructed and sounded good when Buck’s son Buddy Allen strummed it. The headstock logo looked like a thin version of pick guard material like the early Grammer guitars had.

Well now I need to try that Nashville high tune on one of our guitars, probably my parents' old (70s?) Martin parlor guitar.

Great video and a cool guitar! I hadn't heard of Nashville high tuning before. That would be really fun to try.

what's a conversion like this cost 1500-2k?

I really doubt that Buck Owens would not have any knowledge of the mechanical details of guitar design.

1969 or 1970. I say the actual date that's stamped inside in one of the videos. It is done, I just delivered it to the owner this week. It's incredible. I just need to edit the videos, stay tuned for it.
