When I need peace, quiet and a cut off from the world, I come here to listen to Buckethead. Even in the comments there is peace and respect. It's Buckethead's magic: it makes us go back to being...human beings.
Ok, so I'm an old guy who grew up in the late 60's and early 70's with the likes of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Robin Trower. But Buckethead is light-years ahead. He singlehandedly brought me back my rock guitar roots.
Any rock guitarist who doesn’t get bucketheads music suck.. I’ll tell you why, because nobody played songs, I love my parents, hills of eternity, watching the boats with my dad, Escape from inbred mountain, cookoo clocks from hell. Sketches from Spain, sounds exactly like uli jon Roth. For me I would’ve been Finished with guitar players paul Gilbert and eighties guitarist Marty Friedman.. Jason Becker I’d probably still listen to because perpetual burn blows away marty Friedman’s ‘dragons kiss’. All I listened to before I discovered buckethead 2001 was 70s scorpions, Jimi Hendrix recordings and handful of stupid bands like sabotage, forbidden evil, even live at Pompeii 72 absolute worst. Best of bread. laughing. It’s good to know bread on acoustic (in detail, note for note) that is. Nobody can sing it, makes it better.
my friend was made homeless for a few months. i hadnt seen him in overa year and a half, he turned up to my house knocking with a can of monster (we are both kinda skater metal type people) bucket went straight on. and he said "have you heard sunbursts" and we both freaked the fuck out bc of how great it is of a song, he said he was homeless in an alley at stupid oclock in the morning listening to this on his phone, he said he forgot about everything that was bad. and he just had ten minutes of pure bliss. thanks bucket,
Gotta start following new guitarists mate, like Tim Henson, Ichika Nito, Plini Funnily enough in these modern times, the music I listed is what directed me towards discovering Buckethead in 2019.
@@yujonpradhananga9999 That's understandable man, I don't want to come across as telling you how to go about things, everyone has their own opinion. You would say "my favourite guitarist" and not "the greatest of all time" to stop confusion. He's definitely not the greatest of all time and while he makes great music, he cannot live up to the skill and compositon of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani or Frank Zappa, nevermind the countless guitarists releasing music now that go way beyond what Buckethead ever did.
He is a one man show that commands the stage every night, all alone, and he does it to please the audience, not for the fame. His name, identity and face are known by very few and he still has an amazing following and presence. He is humility personified.
@EbuGamer thanks. I used to work in the record business for WEA (Warner Bro’s/Electra/Atlantic) suburbs of Chicago. Always been into music since a young child. Had 2 kids, moved to Montana in ‘95 and just raised my kids. Still listened to all my faves and would hear something on the radio like Audioslave fb or the first time and go wow who the hell is that?! But really kind of got away from music til my kids got older and now turn me onto it. I heard Buckethead for the first time a few weeks ago while driving home from work, listening to Eric Johnson radio on Pandora(I’ve loved him for quite some time) and a song came on that made me look and think wow who the heck is this?! It said Buckethead A Long Days Walk and I thought Buckethead? What kind of name is that? Well I played it loud and went to RU-vid to search for more. Played a few more, loving them all. Got home and looked up who they were, finding out it was just one guy. Kinda got obsessed for a few days, listened to his interview etc. Happy I found him.
@@Mark-po6ng It's quite a place, this genius is way over my pay grade, just jaw dropping ability, would love to learn more about him, like learning about Einstein or Mozart, he seem to not want to share , his call of course.
Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher are two guitarists who never wanted fame. Now Jimi is way more popular then he ever was when he was alive. Same with Rory he only played for his fans. He never sold out. He was asked to join the Stones and other big bands of that era he refused. Fame is just selling your soul to management to make more hits. :) Peace .
i am 66 and this guy to me is like he came from an other planet to help me on my way out of this world,to find peace to help with my travel to where im going
So many perfect emotional solos with wah wah from him you'll never hear them all another one is the blue tide pike song blue not well known pike give a listen
@@marcoantoniocasoascanio6905 Fuck off you buffoon... He didn't say anyone is better or worse... Go take your compliments and fake kindness somewhere else
Thomas Breeze What song by Hendrix is most similar to this one? Always tried to listen to Hendrix but never could get any satisfaction from his music. If he has something similar I think I was wrong. I definitely want to hear it.
@@phat80 People throw the name "Jimi Hendrix" in the air all the time but I don't really hear his sound at all here. Robin Trower is the most "similar" to Hendrix in sound style still alive.
this is not music. this is art. and art takes time. is not just a song you click play and go do something else. this is something more advanced. you have to listen to understand it and appreciate it. its like watching salvador dalis paintings. it takes time. the only gods i belive in are musicians. they talk to people for real
Someone direct me to the slow jams I know a few. But with buckethead. I know I’m missing out on some gems. Actually just started listening November 2019. Can’t stop. Good shit
Incredible music skills. How can any music lover, onely listen to 15 seconds and not threaten to break the fingers of the first person trying to turn this off? Best New Artist in 30 years. Brother, I knew you were out there, I just needed your music to find me!!!
I see youv been here, have you herd , album Look up there it has a real catchy beat the dumming is really cool in some ways is similar to Reaching at the 5 min. mark
Can someone tell me when he's gonna be close to Montgomery, Al. My mom is in her 4th stage of cancer and loves Buckethead's music. It would be so therapeutic for her to see him at least once.
I woke up to the worst hangover IV ever had from cask wine to this song in 2006. Tried to stand up and fell back on my ass and layed in the bush listening to this song on repeat......an hour later I was healed 😂😂
slash's solos are boring, I don't know why people would even think he is better. He pretty much said himself (in his own words) that he doesn't hold a candle to Buckethead.
