I also have my original vinyl copy of Buckingham Nicks. Quite an amazing record. Lindsey is an amazing guitarist, and even more so knowing he is totally self-taught. He never took a lesson.
Why has this album never been re released on CD or digitally? Absolute gem, and superior to their Fleetwood mac debut, in my opinion. Should have been massive..
50 years old...incredible...sounds as fresh today as when it was first released. You could easily be listening to Fleetwood Mac here...in fact, you are.
This song got some air play when I was living in Arizona in the early 70s. First time I heard it I had to pull over to the side of the road to listen. His guitar and her voice had me mesmerized.Never heard anything like this before or since.
I grew up in Phx (Stevie’s home), the local free form FM station, recognized its specialness and played 5 or 6 cuts from it often, that station was the most popular station 72-75. They rec’d lots of playtime and loyalty in Birmingham, AL too. Still have my copy of this exceptional LP.
Buckingham Nicks were popular in our area before they joined Fleetwood Mac. I bought this album back then and it remains to this day one of my favorite albums...it has held up well. they are magical together
I bought this album in 1975 at age 15 right when Buckingham and Nicks joined up with Fleetwood Mac and it has been a favorite ever since except my LP is hammered and the cassettes I made from the vinyl are also hammered and taped together so many times that they don't work in any player anymore. This is a true classic and anyone that hears it will agree. I read that there is a quality remaster from Japan for around $60 which is a fair price for this unbelievable, underrated gem which clearly helped kick life back into Fleetwood Mac who were searching for an identity and were fading fast before Buckingham and Nicks. I just ordered up the new release. Can't wait to hear the whole album again with bonus tracks!
Thank you David Ford for turning me onto this album in 1984 and for giving me Shannon. RIP David Ford, RIP Shannon Lee Brooks. Love will reunite us again one day.
This is my favorite album of all time!! I listen to it over and over and revel in its talent and beauty every time. Thank you both for your amazing artistry. My love goes out to this amazing display of talent!! Forever grateful! 💕
My Roommate bought this online in near mint condition. He made a CD for me. I haven’t heard it since the early 80’s and forgot how much I loved it! True talent!
Like many under appreciated 70's albums this was available in used record stores for a number of years at very reasonable prices. I'm sure that's how I got mine.
This album was reviewed highly by the music critics. It wasn't a huge commercial success, due to the fact it wasn't widely played by the radio stations at the time. I never heard any of this outstanding album on air play. My roommate bought the vinyl and still has it. We played it all the time.
I wish I was THAT lucky! I feel like finding this album in any record store or Goodwill (at a reasonable price that isn't $100+) is a diamond in the rough nowadays considering that only 50,000 copies were sold back in 1973.
Stevie sounds like a magical singing elf and the lyrics are like a magical spell. And Lindsey’s guitar playing is virtuoso. Great blend of talent through and through.
And the rest is Rock History. First time I heard this album was when it was released. It got played on BCN in Boston. I knew where they were heading and it sure wasn't down. Joining Fleetwood changed the whole Rock Dynamic skyrocketing them beyond I think even their wildest hopes and dreams.
I cherish this music so much from my childhood....I had the best musical childhood growing up - being born late 60s and growing up in the 70s...I played the grooves off this record....I can play it over and over and over on here now....I wish it was on CD too!!! Did anyone see Dave Grohl's movie Sound City??? You really really should check that movie out if you love these guys......WOAH that's a great documentary ya'll ....Stevie is prominently featured!!! xo
+Jenni Durham Yes, but it's funny how she is correctly assessing a quality in him already that will split them apart in the not too distant future: his "intensity," his drive, perhaps his temper that even he's admitted in interviews to having had. ("I bring you water, but you're too hot too touch.") And "if you love somebody, don't try to change them, you never will." Once again, Stevie has written one of her self-described prophetic songs!
I am 59 years old, This song came out on the radio. love it!! found out years later that was recorded at sound city. I encourage everyone to watch the video about this fantastic place and learn how this got stevie and lindsey in the band called fleetwood mac. Thank you!!!!!
I just purchased this album on CD from Ebay, though it was pricey it was well worth it. Came with a lot of bonus tracks too, it includes a live version of "Rhiannon" which I think Stevie and Lindsey performed before they joined Fleetwood Mac, but I'm not so sure.
