1:18:11 correct me if I'm wrong but the optimal play here is to use the inverter because at that moment there was 2 lives, 1 blank and the chances that the current round is a live is highly likely so converting that round into a blank and shooting yourself makes it have a 1:1 ratio, which you can just shoot the dealer and survive the round for more items regardless if you hit the dealer or not. Although, if he converts the blank round into a live and shoot himself there he just gets completely f'ed anyway. But I think that's slightly better chances than taking the pill.

I was waiting for this!!! I started watching the stream, but was too busy... And I think Insym didn't know how the AI is coded, im the beginning at least? I didn't have time to figure out! I feel like this is not a true luck game until we know all the rules, because the AI does stupid things, but if we play for a while, it's clearly not random. I wish this game was either fully random, or that the rules that the AI follows were described, so it doesn't feel like a waste of time until we realise :/ I googled the code parameters to speed up the process 😋 In case people want to play with true luck, this is what I remember from the pre-full release version: 1. The AI doesn't count rounds, but always knows the last one. Every other round is a coin toss. 2. The AI always uses items when they have items. So it did stupid things like using the magnifying glass to see that it's a blank, but then used a beer to get rid of it instead of shooting himself 😆 Or would used cuffs with only two rounds left and both blanks! (because it will only know the last) There's a youtuber trying to get to a billion 😵‍💫. I haven't watched in a while though. His advice was to always prioritise giving damage, and (almost) never choose to shoot yourself if there's a live round in there.

This game reminds me heavily of blackjack. It's not about taking risks, it's about knowing your odds and statistics and making the best decision based off that.

Probablility and statistics is one of the last bastions of mathematics that became completely understood... think about that

I feel like the medicine has to change tho. Like there is basically only one scenario where you would use it seriously. The rounds can have two, three or four charges and it doesn't make sense to use it at any given time, where you would a) only recover one charge with that 40% chance or b) if you have only one charge left and would risk to die with 60% chance. So only possible scenario would be with 4 charges in the round and you are down to 2 charges. Therefore you can't die with the 60% chance but get two charges back with 40% chance and not only one, like when you would use it in a three charge round and are down to two charges. (Again, you technically could use it at one charge to recover two.. but you have a high chance of dying straight away) Maybe the second possible scenario would be when you try to break your highscore, have one charge left and this is your only option to survive further.

Since it was 2-1 if you used the inverter and shot yourself with blank then correctly guessed the 50/50 by shooting yourself or using inverter then shooting yourself you would use the last bullet. Thus, you could get more items and be 1 life against 1 life or 1 against 2

Oh yeah for sure this update is narly! Especially when they steal you handcuff which instant uses, rearrange the loadout in the gun then double damage ya. It's a great time.

I think Insym sleeps on the beer a little too much. if you think about the game in terms of rushing through the shells its really good. You don't need to kill him fast, you just need to waste shells because you go first. it always save you in 50/50 last two shell scenarios

Btw some achievements are a bit mean in terms of unlocking them. Like you probably won't get them, without a little bit research online or without playing the game a huge amount of time + experimenting only for those achievements

after the beer you could have shot yourself because if it was a live you get down to 1 life and there is two blanks left and the you get new items. if you shot yourself after the beer and its a blank you use the magnifying glass and shot yourself if blank and then you just shot him with the live and get new items.

I typed out a really long comment detailing a strat to have a 50% chance to get out of the awful situation at 1:36:00 (the result would be getting 1 damage on the dealer and emptying all rounds, which puts you in a much better position where you get new items and only have to hit him once). Unfortunately, I think youtube flagged it or something because it wouldn't let me edit it and then it disappeared when I reloaded. Oh well, point is, it was possible with a 50% chance. Better than the chance of getting the good result from the meds, lol. Edit: Actually, I can summarize by just saying the sequence. Situation is 3 blanks 1 live. Shoot self twice (here's the 50%, hope that neither of the first 2 are live), then use the magnifying glass to have perfect info. If blank, shoot self then shoot dealer. If live, invert, shoot self, invert, shoot dealer. Both result in round ending with 1 damage on the dealer.

At an hour 18 you missed the line of inverter shoot yourself with a blank then shoot the next shell at him then regardless of live or blank he only has one shot on you and you get one more round of items to win. That line gave you a 66% chance instead of a 40% chance 😂

This game is missing a timer that makes the player have to hurry up and make a decision. Maybe on a certain mode with more rewards though.

1:39:16. You needed to handcuff then shoot yourself twice for best odds. You know 3rd shot is blank and you have inverter and knife so if you have the third turn you win. If you shoot your self twice the odds you’ll get shot twice are 3/14. So you have 11/14 odds to make it to the third shell guaranteeing a win

1:36:00 you made the mistake of attempting to do damage with the inverter when the dealer would just one-shot you even with unoptimal play The game would have been winnable if you shot yourself instead of inverting, there was one shot left, all others were blank so even if you hit damage on youself you would have made it harder for the dealer. Though the dealer even if you hit the one live round on him, he had the chance to use phone, inverter and saw. A better play for you would have been (since round start): 2-3 start You used beer, its blank 1-3 You used glass, its blank Shoot self, blank 1-2 Invert, in hope its the live Shoot self, blank (it was live) 0-2 Shoot self twice and get better items (or die anyways, two charge rounds are tough) Of course, this play is only hypothetical and you wouldnt have guessed you'd get by chance a live on 1-2 to invert, but its the only way you absolutely get a chance to win and not resort to dealer ai having a mistake But still, you resort to a ⅓ chance of inverting a live round. Which thinking about it is GREAT youtube short material Anyways, minesweeper players, dont you HATE IT when you are forced to guess a 50/50?

Using the phone at the start of long rounds seems dumb. Save it for when you absolutely need the info. For example if it’s round 4 of 6 you get info on 1/3 of the remaining rounds vs using it at the being where you get 1/6 odds of getting the information you are looking for. Unless you need to clear space for more items/ the phone will get stolen it’s better to save it for later on especially if you can afford to gamble 50/50 on the first couple of shots

hey insym! about the round in 1:37:00 , you could kept going with shooting yourself by getting only shot once so you still had one life remaining and the dealer couldnt do double damage.
