I’m tying flies 51 years. Never saw as good a teacher and explainer of method and Techniques. Actually makes me want to get the vice out and tie a few up. Inspiring.👍

Great video, I really like your explanation of how the two different flies have a different movement. This is the first time I've heard that.

Cant wait. I wrote up a fly tying goal list and created a syllabus for 2022. First block is the Bob Pop/Gunnar Bucktail School.

Hey Man, you have helped me step up my tying game. I really enjoy the video emphasis on techniques rather than the patterns. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic explanation of differences between Bulkhead and regular BTD. 100% the regular BTD will tend to nosedive on the pause. I think the other thing going on is all of the buoyant material behind the hook shank lets the nose of the fly tip down. Thanks for describing the remedy for this. Perfect.

Nothing but excellence! Gunnar you have certainly took it to the next level . The future you do see is social media. Albeit I love books as an older fella but it doesn't compare to the video explanations of the techniques. One good example is I watched a recent Bob closer video of his minnow pattern that I've fished since the mid 90's . I had his books as well but the recent video took the technique to a new level . Thank you bud !

These short technique videos are super helpful. I’ve watched your longer videos on the Deceiver and Bulkhead flies and these short ones really hit the significant techniques. What’s the next topic?

Hola Gunnar.

Hi gunnar, how would this bucktail deceiver be different from the jerk flies in previous series? The jerk flies catch water and cause it to jerk side to side on the slack, but this BTD has a head dip during the slack. Thanks in advance.
