Wanna know something sad? When Steve says “Bucky?” And Buck replies “Who the hell is Bucky?” In a way that makes it sound like he is insulted to be called that. It’s almost as if that name was familiar to him but in a bad way because hydra has taught him that what he is/was doing was correct and that he had to be doing it. And the name Bucky refers to a time when he was “weak” but really hearing “Bucky” reminds him of who he was and hydra doesn’t want that so they made it seem like it was an unwanted name, you know?
You know what's so heartbreaking is that he asks it in perfect English with just a touch of old Brooklyn in there. He asks who the hell he is, after being brainwashed from Russia primarily to Germany, in perfect freaking English.
Have anyone notice that when bucky trow the shield at Steve his eyes look like he is going to cry... like even under Hydra control he knows what going on... in civil war he tell Tony he Remeber them all (referring to the people he killed under hydra) what if there was more to that line...
It's super flattering on him. And add to that the black leather and the badass moves and the piercing blue eyes and the hot body, O.M.G.!!! Smoking hot!
I believe Bucky remembered Steve because of the Serum. The Doctor mentioned, while talking with Steve, that the Serum improves everything. Like good becomes better and bad becomes the worst, that's why Steve got chosen. This means Buckys friendship to Steve became stronger.
Right??? It took me more than a few times to realize (because my focus is always on Sebastian), but when I did, I was amazed. I can’t imagine how long this took - but it’s brilliant!!! I remember my stepdad saying he hated Bucky because “You should not be in the military if you can be brainwashed that easily.” He also said he didn’t really believe in brainwashing, just means their weak. Idk why but like that pissed me off. Not even just because I love Bucky. Like imagine, using that technology being used on someone for years. Then if they ever break free they have to live with what they unwillingly had to do. I know it’s fiction but, imagine. I don’t think anyone could resist forever. No matter how strong someone is. It’s just kinda crazy to think about.

okay, first things first, I'm not a killer, just an ADHD writer that gets bored at school and we discuss torture techniques effects in science. It takes something like 3 hours of interrogation to be convinced you've done something even if you didn't. Manipulation is very easy and can be so subtle no one notices. Two torture techniques that affect the human brain severely are the Chinese water torture (water dripped slowly but steadily onto the scalp, forehead or face for a prolonged period of time) and the white room torture (completely blank room (either black or bright white) absolutely no contact or outside stimulation). Using these techniques for a period of time, alongside the electrical torture, physical torture, withholding of basic necessities, cryofreeze, and brainwashing, would have made bucky lose his mind which would mean he would be extremely vulnerable to manipulation. It is highly likely the winter soldier is another personality formed to protect what is left of bucky and formed as a result of the torture and manipulation. The winter soldier personality is brought forward by the trigger words (and conditioning related to them) however it is also highly likely that it could be brought forward in times of extreme stress (whether mental or to the body). I don't know enough about this mental disorder to comment further. (I'm terribly sorry if that upsets you, I'm sitting here crying as I write it)
In addition, Bucky didn't join the army voluntarily (the digits in his number show that he was drafted) and the Wakanda files that contain everything Shuri found out about what they did to him said that Bucky resisted the brainwash longer than it should be possible, he was much stronger than probably everyone else
I love Bucky so much. A big part of it is that there is so much about his character. So much pain and self hate and fear and hope. He's truly one of the best Marvel characters.

Much as this is just about the most epic fierce video ever with the punches and clangs timed perfectly with the music . . . when it suddenly gets soft and sad and shows Bucky falling from the train it DESTROYS me, I had to pause the video and get ahold of myself because it was like being punched in the gut.

My 1st time watching Winter Soldier, I cried through the whole movie because I knew what happened. My 2nd time watching, I cried 4 different times, 3 were because of Bucky. Watching Civil War, I was completely broken because I'd just watched Age of Ultron and hadn't stopped sobbing since Pietro's death. Overall, Steve and Bucky's relationship really gets to me because they would actually die for each other and I do have a friend I feel that way about. (Even though she was Team Iron Man and I am hardcore Team Cap)
This is a great video, thanks for making it. And so many years later that hair, those eyes and that motorcycle scene oh my lord, melts me like butter. I got to Meet Sebastian Stan at the last comicon I went to and as rushed as it was, It was really amazing to meet him. He's such a nice guy.
@@AlexHedgehogStan Just keep checking the comicons, he's filming later this year but he's still guest at a few. At the London one we went to there was a package which included VIP fast tracking queues, an autograph, a photoshoot and front row seats in the panel. (it was expensive and my other half treated me and I gave up my birthday and xmas presents for this year - I mean who wouldn't want Sebastian Stan as a birthday present, right) The queues were huge though, friends who didn't buy the pass waited ages, and we were glad we'd left our 6 year old with a babysitter - no way would he have waited!

Man he's such a good well rounded character. I think Cap should have gave Bucky his shield. Or when falcon walked up to him after he went back in time to live with Peggy. Cap should've thrown the shield to Bucky and say on your left 😂. I mean falcon is a good cap but I don't think his character is well rounded as Bucky is. I hope the Disney plus falcon and the winter solider builds up his character arch a bit more.
