Official English translation as on CD, by Alex Diaconescu: ”Tell Me, Ye Wind Tell me, ye frozen wind, where you have been, wherever you've dinned In yon naked groves, on bens and in coves icy flows beneath raging floes Might you have seen wherever you've been deep-reaching scars carved into crags On crests clad in winters reflected in waters, untrodden trails to faraway gales As you fly fast like thought, round the earth taut Passing high seas, wastelands and leas Find it, it wilts, my yearning in weeds, it nests in my soul, I won't find my pall Tell me, ye frozen wind, where you have been, wherever you've dinned In yon naked groves, on bens and in coves icy flows beneath raging floes Relentlessly stride, seek far and wide, by night and by day, here and away In the sun and the moon, in the bad and the good, never repose, nor ever pause Tell me, ye frozen wind, where you have been, wherever you've dinned If you find it that wilts, my yearning in weeds, it'll nest in my soul, I won't find my pall.”
Bucovina...my homeland, my dreams, my stories, my favorite band. for me, Bucovina members are poets and true artists. The region is very beautiful and has a rich history and it was the birthplace of the Moldova Principality back in middle ages. it s a place where every season is beautiful :)
I was born in Bucovina, it is a region covered mostly by mountains with incredible landscapes and 25-30 years ago, when I was a little kid, we literally had 4-5 months of hard winter there from early November until March...so the winter theme in their songs is normal
Bucovina is a really nice gang from the land of the Carpathians. Stumbled upon them last winter, when I was searching for obscure Black Metal bands on Spotify. However, they "only" come second on my list of Romanian Metal Orchestras... Cheers! ✌️💚
@@robstar4283 Thank you for your support! We're working on our 3rd album which is like 70% done. Stay tuned, we might release a single or two in the near future.
Hello from Romania."Mestecanis" it's my favorite song.Adrian Rugina was a great artist and a hero of Colectiv tragedy who died saving other's from that fire in 30.10.2015.Sorry for my bad english, i don't speak perfect.I like also Trooper,Negura Bunget,Cargo with "Day of the witch",Pheonix,Sur Austru,Anahata,a cover's band from Transilvania,Romania e.t.c.
I love this recommendation! I am pleased to see good black metal on this channel! I love power metal, but my favorite genres are black and death metal.
You should check out the Romanian band Sur Austru, especially the song De Dincolo de Munte. It's great and you do get to hear a bit of some traditional Romanian instruments in the intro of the song too. You Won't get disappointed. 😈😈🤘🤘🇸🇪🇹🇩🇸🇪🍺🍷🍺🍷
thank you Metal Academix for your wonderful job by promoting art in the form of metal music, in this case, Bucovina, i'm a huge fan of them, i need to make some comments (i know nobody ask for them but always i have tears in my eyes when i listen Asteapta-ma dincolo de moarte, the song dedicated to Adrian Rugina and victims of Colectiv tragedy), Adrian Rugina (ex drummer of Bucium, you should check them out) and Claudiu Petre (photograph) both of them decorated postmortem by Roumanian president after they save at list 10 people from that hell before they fall, i see that nobody speak about the gig from that night, it was the release concert of the album "Mantras of war" from Goodbye to Gravity (i strongly recommend to check them out), band that ceased to exist due to the death of 4 members in that tragedy (all except the vocalist), i'm pretty sure they all - Wait for us beyond death -
What a moving story! I didn't know about Goodbye to Gravity and the terrible fate that awaited its members that night. Thank you for the comment! - Anamaria
Damn, your romanian pronunciation is very good....So good that you will get my sub, like and the holy bell. You should try also,Trooper . Songs like Judecata,Archangels and Radacini de dor.
Good job on the pronunciations!! I recommend Luna Amara and E-AN-NA, both are Romanian bands. Luna Amara has political heavy songs and sad heavy hitting songs and E-AN-NA is very similar to Bucovina, they both make heavy metal songs based on Romanian folklore. I really hope you check them out, I think those two bands represent the Romanian rock/metal scene very well.
@@MetalAcademix symphonic metal. They have a female singer. The cd I have, Wolves And Witches, is a bit rough, production-wise, but I've heard from a few other people that know of the band that some of their other albums were better sound quality-wise.
I think you should really give a try to the romanian band Dirty Shirt: is one of the most active and original rock bands in Romania. It was also present a few times at Wacken Open Air ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sC-tV6mvlA8.html
I don't know if this is allowed. So if it gets taken down, so be it. But, if you guys want to see more of them at work, here is a concert from 2019. Not the best recording, but I've seen worse. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--xZfwF2xwhU.html
They sound pretty good live too! Not the hugest fan of the harsh vocals in this live version, but the rest is solid. I saw on their Facebook page that they will be touring in London next year! Maybe some other festivals too... - Anamaria
Super. Try other romanian bands like: An theos (folk metal) E an na (folk metal) , Sur Austru , Tiarra , B L E S T E M - Romanian folklore goes metal .
What's worth mentioning that Romanian as language and blood goes well beyond the current borders of Romania. In Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Croatia even, all had villages which historically were what we identify now as Romanian. There is a lot of divide made by Russia concerning what now identifies as Republic of Moldova, which we lost after ww2. Mentioning the neighboring countries in the video only creates confusion to those that don't know the region and its history.
Actually normaly România has of the most parts and traditions folk origins, actual Romanian music genres not shits that are most of the time on the radio have folk origins or relly on the Folk music some how, even the souvenirs we buy and use or the way we used to dress Back then was some folk thing, not i have so much money your mom will make you a brother with me type of thing we see or hear now, manele it's Sick genre and trap/hip hop music now, then was fun, now it's worse and stupid, like money, womens and cars mean that u have success and a meaningfull life
They sound very good live and if you are able to come in Bucharest, Romania on 17th July you will be able to attend their live concert at Arenele Romane and also buy their merchandise. This is the official Bucovina Facebook page: facebook.com/officialbucovina
No fun travel plans for this summer, but I hope to see them live one day, soon. I will check out of they have t-shirts with their cool logo. - Anamaria
@@MetalAcademix They do have T-Shirts, this is a romanian online shop where you can buy them: letsrock.ro/shop/tricouri-trupe-romanesti-86/bucovina-septentrion-girlie-4882.html
The format of our channel is that we take turns proposing a band and 3 songs from that band. Thus, every week one of us is familiar with the content and the other is not. In this case, I proposed the band and selected the songs, and Michael reacted to them. He did not know the songs from before, whereas, of course, I did. Hope this clarifies the situation. - Anamaria
