Fun fact: The song is Opus No. 1 by Tim Carlton and Dereck Deel, recorded in a garage in 1989. It became hold music when one of them worked at Cisco and was developing Cisco Callmanager.
Jeff Rodgers I learned this maybe 10 years ago now from listening to the episode of This American Life where they tracked him down and he shared the story of how he created this song and how it ended up as hold music. I wonder if he got paid anything at all for his song to be used in a friggin’ million-dollar Super Bowl commercial.
Your "CEO" literally said, it is time to change who drinks Bud Light. We are all agreeing with you. We are helping you change your Customer Base. As YOU Requested!!!
We are doing exactly what your VP of Marketing says, "Bud Light is moving away from its loyal customer base." Good luck Bud with filling the gap with trannies drinking your piss water. Who knew men who wear teenage girl clothes and makeup were such big domestic beer drinkers!
so many right wing cancel culture snowflakes in these comments. The lack of self awareness is hilarious lol. Idgaf about trans people and don't let it upset me. It is a beer, an ad campaign, and you right wing clowns are doing exactly what they want. Go buy another case so you can destroy it for social media likes lol. InBev doesn't want to be associated with domestic terrorists or violent religious zealots; they wouldn't want to reach ISIS and they don't want to reach ya'll. Cry more
Before my old 96 truck was rough, hit every bump in the road and you felt it. Now that I changed it with the new bud light trany fluid it runs so much smoother.
@@hesturikitten I'm a paralegal, and spend a good chunk of time on hold with various courts throughout the week. With the exception of one or two counties, the entire California Superior Court system uses this as their hold music, so I have been caught grooving to this track a few times. When the music cuts out and you hold your breath to find out if the groove's over ... that suspense is real!
@@mylanbrown1078I am from the future as well, Anauser-Busch merged with another beer company due to a massive drop in sales and managed to stay semi profitable but ultimately files for bankruptcy.
This commercial really got me because for one thing, I’ve been on hold to this music sooooo much and always grooved to it, and it’s just I think people forget to enjoy these seemingly mundane moments of life like being on hold
@@blakeoveracker5822 ohh sorry. I don’t do too muck tiktok either but young people are creative, and that seems to be the platform more of a showcase their talents…
@@annabellesnightmares And take 4x pieces of tape. Put one over the letters "mission", and the other 3 arranged to form an arrow pointing at Bud Light.
The reason this commercial works for me is it’s very relatable. I used to call a company, can’t remember which, frequently and would be on hold for long times and this tune would play and I would be thinking “this music isn’t that bad, I kinda like it.” And would forget how long I would actually be on hold. To see a commercial being made from this was just so delightful. I was smiling the whole time.
The fact that they chose a really popular piece that is heard by countless people every day, instead of creating a new one, is definitely the best part.
Amazon has this one that makes me feel like I am relaxing on a beautiful beach somewhere 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wnGeBUWI8Mw.html
Man, this was a good commercial. A nice couple having a good time during a bummer, making the best of it with a bud light. Then, it went downhill after that.
Wow. About a couple of weeks ago, I was browsing on the RU-vid app and saw that Lenarr Young, a young, imaginative RU-vid content creator, called out Bud Light for stealing his concept. He reposted yesterday and called them out again for taking this concept from him. He uploaded a video to RU-vid 2 years ago called, "When you get put on hold" and it's clear that this brand used his video as a reference. They even used the same instrumental. Personally, his video was better. Today, is my first time seeing the ad because I typically stream on platforms that don't play ads. I even currently use RU-vid premium. I am amazed that Bud Light would steal his idea, yet not disappointed. Give content creators, even the young generation, their props where it's due.
Hanging out together at home, cold outside, quiet weekend, doing life admin and yet finding a way to make each other laugh; even in the mundane circumstances of your day. This is such a vibe
I hope Bud Light got permission from the Zac Brown Band to use their song “Chicken Fried” in their newest commercial. If they didn’t they are going to lose everything in that Law Suit.
I just lost my mom, and little things like this song remind me of good memories and help with my broken heart. Thank you for this commercial and this song as well. Have a great evening, and Congrats to the Chiefs.
I don't know if the case will be accepted. If it is, he needs a lot of money behind him. A big corporation like Budlight has a bunch of lawyers to drag out the process.

As someone who has grooved to this song many times this was great. Especially the part where they stopped grooving just so the robot could tell them to continue to hold lmao. Exactly how it happens
So glad Miles and Keleigh did this together. No dialogue, but absolutely brilliant communication between them and the audience too. Hope Miles gets even better known by more people from this. First rate!
@@trevr1969 It's a piece called Opus no. 1 which two high school kids produced in 1989. Darrick and Tim. Darrick went on to join CISCO and was made a part of their VoIP phone development team, as part of which they needed a hold tune. Darrick suggested Opus 1. Tim gave permission as he was the chief producer, and that's how so many of us know this hold tune.
At least they can say they were the last people to represent the majority of Bud Light drinkers before the retard they hired torched their bottom line.
20+ years of drinking bud light and only bud light, if the gas station was sold out id go out of my way to find a gas station that was in stock but no more! I haven't had a Bud light all month. I've switched to Coors light and Miller lite. A simple apology goes a long way but they will not do it, they will not admit where they messed up! I am done forever and every time I buy a case of Miller lite I have a big smile on my face!
What do they have to apologize for? Oh yeah, nothing. Telling out of touch people that they are out of touch does not warrant an apology. That's like a Nazi being mad that they were called a Nazi, you literally wear it like a badge of honor, why would you get upset?
Miller and Coors have LGBT logos; look it up. Coors owns Yeungling. There isn’t a major beer brand who doesn’t support this segment of the population. You know there was never a commercial with Dylan, right? He was one of many, many influencers over the years who were sent a case of limited edition beers with their face on it (made for them and them only), where the influencers then posted content about the beer on their TikTok. Almost all companies market to different demographics of the population. Dylan wasn’t ever meant to be the face of Budweiser. One marketing rep was responsible, and that’s it.
You must be one of those ignorant rednecks that were involved in that ridiculous boycott that nearly destroyed Bud Light. Thank God they're coming back!
