@@satanramirezramos8367 Gold is the color of prosperity, bright like the sun. It's like starting a new life and staying forever. and objects made of gold will never decay. The fire does not burn Even if the sunburn is not hot you go to thailand and touch the golden pagoda You will feel that it's cold and it's not hot at all even though the sun in Thailand is very hot.
@@davikanaruk1431 hmm. but buddha didnt tell to make everything with gold. and you didnt answer the other question. i thought there making everything with gold too show more respect and i think that a waste but anyway its not for that reason
@@satanramirezramos8367 They do it because they believe. what you said might be correct because since ancient times gold has been precious. The ancient Thai people used gold to exchange things. Money is what comes after
@@davikanaruk1431 well i said it will be a waste if they made from gold bc to show more repsect bc buddha never needed anything than going in the right path. theres nothing precious than that
This is one of the best explanations about Buddhism. The Buddha is not a god, they don't worship the Buddha but it's a way of showing respect to him. Learn meditation to purity the mind & to train our monkey mind, learn to understand the truth of nature. Buddhism is not a religion, but it's a way of life. Be aware of what happened, let it happen and accept it.
In theory yes but in practice Buddha in Thailand can be appealed to and grants favours via ‘magic’. It’s kind of a Jesus type worship for cultural Buddhists. Philosophical Buddhists might have a more sophisticated view. I’m strongly against it as it’s misogynistic in the extreme. The reward or punishment (like most religious) is given on death, In Buddhism the goal is to not be reborn, IE attain a state of enlightenment so you don’t NEED to be reborn. Here a woman HAS to be reborn a man to attain enlightenment. It’s basically so sexist that the magic that judges your life and reassigns a new vehicle for your next life views women as unworthy.
Phra KK is a great teacher.. I learnt a lot from him in this short video than the hundreds of RU-vid videos on Buddhism. You have outdone yourself this time Chris! Great and meaningful content🙏🏻😊
Abhidhamma is the science of the universe explained in Buddhism. According to that science, there are 28 material forms, 52 mental forms/fields, 1 mind/chitta form, 1 nibbana form. Abhidhamma explains how 89 types of existence emerged from those fundamental realities in the universe. Surprisingly, there is a way to prove the existence of those fundamental realities. Abhidhamma is an explanation about the nature of reality like quantum physics. But unfortunately most people don't know about that. Buddhism is based on the scientific explanations about the fundamental phenomenon.
@@weebtem3627, His Aeons of practice helped him to attain the deepest state of Samadhi to see all those things. I found some of them mathematically. I'm not joking. There is a way to prove the existence of those ultimate realities.
I am Thai, and living in Bangkok, Thailand. And I am Buddhism. Thanks a lot to Christ to make this vdo. And give my respect to Phra KK to explain all about Buddhist in the right way, also can explain in English very well. ขอน้อมกราบสาธุในธรรมเจ้าค่ะ 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
If anyone is interested in some practical applications of buddhism to daily life, check out any of the books by Ajahn Chah, a famous monk from the Thai forest tradition mentioned at 5:10. He was well known for speaking plainly about down-to-earth buddhism.
KK!! I was with him at one of his meditation classes. He is fantastic- definitely the real deal. His sense of humor is great also!! Please do more videos like this!!! Heck - KK is a FANTASTIC teacher - why not a series of videos with just him. (Donate to his Wat for his time maybe). GREAT video!!!
Okay, this was great. I've practiced Buddhism for decades and have an M.A. in Buddhist studies; in my opinion Phra KK's insight and knowledge of fundamental Buddhist doctrine combined with his talent at communicating hint at a depth of understanding thats highlights his path towards enlightenment. Just a joy to listen, learn, and experience his insight. I've got to meet him!
I don't know how to put this in words very well but his last thought and words to the world actually moved me quite a bit. I felt a sensation in my body. Hard to explain but there is power in his words. I am going to try and be better in this world.
I believe KK has practiced at least a few hundreds hours of meditation. He’s a free spirit individual. Because of his practice he has sharpened his mind rather respectfully. When he focused to the camera to communicate to us, the audience he has combined his words with his discipline, (non-tangled) mind , His communication lodged straight into people hearts and minds. And I got that tingling feeling too. Thus, in the last part of the video we have witnessed how this individual has developed himself into the spiritual realm quite high already. I think he’s deserved a new nickname: he’s SUPER KK, one of the best Chiengmai monks. Another classy RU-vid vlog Thanks Chris,!
Phra KK speaks perfect English and articulates the philosophy of Buddhism so well. Truly impressive! Thanks so much for making this video. I wish you well Chris and peace to all!
Listening to him is so calming. Thank you for Buddha's advice and thank you for making this video. 🙏🙏🙏🕯 Love, light, good health and continuous prosperity to those who watched this video and see this comment 🕯🙏🙏🙏🕯
Now that was one of the best videos I have ever watched, Buddhism has been a great interest to me since I have been going to Thailand, I do wish I had known more about it in my younger days..
Live your vids, never committed till this one. The monk is on point. Chris has me moving to Thailand but this monk has me becoming a monk. Thanks Chris
👋🏻Hey Chris and Phra KK, thank you for asking and answering our questions. 😊So proud to have Phra KK answer them and it helped us to understand Buddhism. He is such a good teacher and is very easy to understand. 😊This was absolutely great and the information was so enlightening.❤️Stay Sane and keep your awesome videos coming. 🙏Phra KK thank you! and Chris thank you as well for doing what you do! ❤️🇨🇦
Phra KK. explains Buddhism to people in other religions more easily. 🙏🙏🙏 If you want to understand the basics of Buddhism you can learn from the monks in the city or Google. But if you are more serious about Buddhism You must learn to practice from the monks in the forest temple. I am Thai. This content is cool. Great video.
You are getting deep. This is a lovely and important video. Just at you help people with food, this is also help. For the mind. I loved this film and as a Theravada buddhist myself this was simple and directly . I will use this at my school (with your permision) so the kids dont only use books. Thanks CEO of the mind :)
Thanks for sharing my question! Coming from a Christian background it is always interesting to see how other cultures and beliefs views others from other religions. I think it's great that you can have friends from other religions and beliefs, even though we all don't believe the same way, at the end of the days we're all humans and should attempt to be kind and show love to one another! :)
Thank you Great monk Phra kk for sharing of Wonderful teaching of our Lord Budda.Thank Mr Chris for conducting such a great interview with a monk who has got the spirit of Lord Buddha's teaching as it is. The way of explaining is so simple so that even a child can understand.whole vedio is fruitful. I'm a Sri lankan Buddhist Doctor
Chris, I missed this vid somehow when it came out. A belated thank you and a request to do more of these Buddhist videos. Buddhism seems to be the foundation for all things great about the Thai people. Love and light to everyone.
We enjoyed this conversation very much Chris and although I get into Buddhism before ever finding Thailand, it was refreshing to her this man articulate so wonderfully well the teachings of Sidharta Gotema. Personally, I try to follow the five basic preceps of Buddhism because it makes perfect sense to me. Not to kill, not to steal, not to lie or commit adultery are honourable notions. It's the fifth one that I have most trouble with and that is not to be intoxicated. It is of course logical to refrain from having a few beers but as an Englishman to not be intoxicated is a very big ask! In truth though, when I hear people say " You only live once" I say, how do you really know?! We all like to think we have the answer to everything but the wisest way to deal with the question, " What is the meaning of life?" is to say " "I don't know." Be an agnostic like me because any other directive is arrogance personified.
@Frank Hi, I am a Buddhist Thai man in Bangkok. I suggest you refrain from vowing to follow the five precepts for the day you know you will drink alcohol. I do this too when Im going to party with friends sometimes hehehe. And I uphold the five precepts on the other days. May you find the inner peace and happiness 😇😍.
Chris, thank you for a most beautiful revelation into the thoughts of Phra KK, a most beautiful and wonderful, thoughtful individual. How amazing it would be if the rest of the world could be his students to learn how to live a better life. You, Chris, have graciously provided a needed platform for someone as understanding and learned as Phra KK in your video. How fortunate am I to have experienced your presentation of Phra KK's wisdom and love. Thank you.
I dont care who create the word,I care now and hear how to live with peace and happiness...One answer from Supreme Budhdha for the all question against buddhism.😃🙏
Wowww- this is completely a next level vlog Chris! Thank-you so much for sharing this wonderful video and introducing us to this monk🙏 I was born in Thailand but left the country at a very young age and grew up catholic! This video inspires me to get back into Buddhism (my grandparents were Buddhist when they were alive)….peace and love to you & Haley❤️
Biggest dilemma for Buddhists is how to choose between Greed for life and current trappings and to give up all worldly possessions, quite a difficult decision to make 😕
This monk explained so well. The Bhuddhism way is very profound, Just doing by yourself able to undertand law of the nature then lead to how to liberation. Thanks for this VDO
Thank you for asking my question and thank you Phra KK for answering it! This was such a great video and I learnt so much about Buddhism. Lots of insight and learnings we could all apply to our western lives for sure.
As a Thai of the younger generation, I've grown to understand and appreciate Buddhism as a base philosophy of living life and not a religion. The definition of religion, when applied to Buddhism, kind of falls out and doesn't really apply as it would do with, say, Christianity or Islam. I see Buddha as a great philosopher of the time, with teachings that have withstood the test of time and still work to this day.
because western religions or abrahamic religions such as islam or christianity seek for a savior and follow a code of living to enter heaven. with buddhism the ultimate goal is enlightenment so that we dont keep coming back to experience the same sufferings life after life. buddhism is a philosophy and way of life but it can also be a religion.
Thai Christian here, and I must say that's a great point. I respect Buddha the same way as I respect other philosophers like Socrates, shame that the younger Thai generation tend to misunderstood Bhuddism as a supernatural power of some sort, praying for their worldly desires and disregarding the philosphical aspects as a whole.
Good talk, Ven. Phra KK. Reasonable and practical and harmonious. It is all about Peace In Oneself, Peace in the World. May All Sentient Beings Be at Peace. Thanks Chris for the interview.
I'm so thankful for this video. Such an enlighten video. The monk understands the key message of the Bhuddism so well. Thank you so much for sharing loving kindness and compassion from this video 🙏
I like to say thank you as a foreigner that's living in Thailand and retired, I would have to say this is one of the best videos for foreign people to respect the Thai people, and their beliefs you doing good cause! Hopefully more foreign people would respect Buddha! And not come here to party only!
That was one of the best videos on Thailand I have ever seen on social media, thank you for sharing. I will absolutely go and spend some time in Chiang Mai at the Monks University when the COVID restrictions are removed. That aside, showing people the culture of Thailand is brilliant because this is why I tell people I keep going back, Thai culture is so rich, it's totally fascinating to me, and many other fellow travellers. Some of my favourite experiences in Thailand have come from talking with monks. As you put it in the video, very enlightening. LOL
A very inspiring, insightful conversation and an extremely enlightening experience indeed. I really enjoyed listening as it made me feel very relaxed and happy. It all starts with one itself and how you perceive everything that surrounds you. In today’s world it’s hard not to be manipulated/ indoctrinated, but if you stay with your essence as a human being, you’ll find deep within all the happiness, contentment and love you’re made of. Be considerate and mindful towards every living being and practice tolerance, kindness and empathy. Inner satisfaction and happiness radiates outwards and infects your fellow human beings with positive emotions. Your thoughts will always guide you. What you think, is what you are or will become. So handle this knowledge very wisely and with the utmost care. Blessings and love from Germany/ Belgium ❤️
Wow, one of my absolute favorite videos of yours Chris! Phra KK was so eloquent and spoke such amazing English. I loved his answers. When we were in Chiang Mai a few years ago we did a Monk Chat at Wat Chedi Luang and it was one of the highlights of our 4 week trip to Thailand! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Chiang Mai
Great video, Buddhism is a great religion or way of life to follow as it does not require faith. Happiness within yourself is important and if the guidelines in Buddhism helps u find this then it’s worthwhile for sure.
I’m not a religious person but Buddhism has always Intrigued me, thanks Chris for this video as I always saw Buddhism as just another Christian organization. I would happily become Buddhist just to get more peace and happiness in my life.
Im Thai and Buddhism, still got goosebumps and enlightened from monk KK .. he has words of wisdom.. he made me want to do meditation right away even though I don’t do it regularly😃
Chris, thank you so much for this video. Absolutely amazing! World needs more forgiveness, simplicity, respect and love. We all can learn from this video how to live together on this Earth in happiness.
Recommended for those who are interested in studying more Buddhist teachings from the book " Buddhadhamma : The Laws of Nature and Their Benefits to Life /by Bhikkhu P. A. Payutto ".
Thank you Chris for a great topic you choose , it was fantastic and I learned too many important things about Buddhism, and thanks to the monk with such a open mind and so peaceful!
Wow, I really liked Phra KK he is a great Teacher. As a Thai, if you want to learn more about Buddhism you can go to Esan province because they have a lot of Westerner Forest Monk.
I have only been to Thailand once, and I was fascinated by this country and its people. Buddhism is a big part of my life, and I think that Thai people should really appreciate their culture and keep it alive, not westernize too much. Their culture has a lot to offer.
