A talk from Jnanavaca given at the Mid-Essex buddhist centre.
‘A human being is part of a whole, called by us “Universe”, a part limited
in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to the affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.’ - Albert Einstein

Wow....one of the best & subtle explanations I have ever come across. As the Buddha said, impermanence is the ONLY permanence in the illusion

Thank you for sharing a “mythological” view that works for western scientific minds! :-)

It's not dhamma. It's dharma it is the word is used both in Hinduism and Buddhism.

@@crazyrebel7406 dhamma is pali spelling. Dharma is Sanskrit spelling. Many Theravada people prefer to use the Pali spelling instead of the official english which adopted the Sanskrit spelling.

I wrote the most extensive and wide-ranging book on the issue, and much much more - my 2010 book 'Quantum Buddhism'. You can do a search and my work generally comes top of the search results. So odd no one seems to mention it!

Lord Buddha saw and said about everything before 2500 years, what nowadays scientists invent using modern apparatus, telescopes, computers etc.

49:30 brings it down to normal level. I still didn’t see the connection of meditation

It's true. meditation is an exercise for your mind. Like we do training to achieve something. We train our physical body to achieve something. Meditation is a method to train your mind. To which direction you train your mind is based on what type of training you undergo.

Isn’t meditation a method to reduce the normal ‘filtering’ of the brain?

Ultimately, meditation is becoming aware. Nothing to do. Nothing to look at. Just remain in a state of clear awareness.
