Buddy was the most important person in rock and roll in the 1950s imho.. Elvis Little Richard Eddie Cochran Jerry Lee Lewis etc all fantastic in their own way and Style, But Buddy had it all,as a writer, performer arranger, producer etc
Very well done Pat! "Rave On", also written "Rave On!", is a song written by Sonny West, Bill Tilghman and Norman Petty in 1958. It was first recorded by West for Atlantic Records, which released his version in February 1958 (as Atlantic 45-1174). Buddy Holly recorded the song later the same year, and his version became a hit, one of six of his recordings that charted in 1958. [Wiki].
As a Buddy fan I say well done Sir! You bring out instruments I never knew were on the released record. Please do not forget to do the Crickets - I Fought The Law when you find time. Thanks
Fantastic remix Pat. I’m a big Buddy fan and I love the way you turn these great songs into stereo. Have you heard of a song called “Let the little girl dance” by Billy Bland? That I would love to hear in stereo 👍😎
Never heard the guitars on Rave On like this. Then the Buddy Holly hiccup intro on A-we-a-he-a-hell. Pure rock 'n'roll. Been a fan forever and would buy every single issued here on the Coral record label. And, you always got a brilliant B side with his singles. All great singles but my absolute favourite single is 'Baby I Don't Care' as his was always my choice over every other version (sorry, but that includes Elvis). Just a brilliant stereo remix Pat. Many thanks and cheers!
Look At Me, Listen To Me, Peggy Sue, Everyday, Crying Waiting Hoping, Raining In My Heart, Whishing that Pat would hear my Words Of Love in the Valley Of Tears and remix Rave On. Today he opens the Door To My Heart! That'll Be The Day when I'm in Fools Paradise, Not Fade Away. Meanwhile Peggy Sue Got Married, but It Doesn't Matter Any More...
🎧 👍 Hi, Pat: No need for you to disparage some of your earlier remixes when you have created perfection such as this. It can't get any better, can it? @radiowollaton8521
Chuck Berry - Brown Eyed Handsome Man next please!! This recording definitely needs a remix! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZBJoKSpPsxg.html
Hi R.W. Sorry pal, I have to call foul on this "remix". It's audibly obvious that additional modern instrumentation has been added to the original recording. Some folks may find it to be intriguing, but my thoughts are that this method of creating a "stereo" version is insulting to the original musicians and historically inacurate. At the very least, it would be best if you indicate that this is what others have called an "enhanced" version.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that not everybody approves of the enhancement method of creating stereo from mono, but most people seem to enjoy it. And I have made it clear on my About Page what I'm doing and why. So no attempt is being made to fool people !
