I never knew Buddy, but I knew he was a great songwriter, singer, and story-teller. I appreciate this because he's still a weekly singer on my Rez, Hoka.
I am a proud Canadian native Mohawk, i watched Dreamkeeper the other day , great movie. This is were i heard this great mans music for the first time. I love it ,so emotional, so real , this man sings from the heart and soul. So sad hes been taken away from Mother Earth way too early. His music makes me proud to say and be a Native, Mark. Yeha Noha .
Not only was Buddy Red Bow a great singer but, he was an awesome incredible chronicler of Indigenous pain created by white encroachment and cultural genocide.
