You are really a great cook! Your adventures in the kitchen always make me laugh (like when you spilled the flour) but you including everything in your blog - this makes you so relatable. The curry looked so good. I made tomato sauce from garden cherry tomatoes this week and just used my judgement and threw in what I had ….it came out great. You give me the courage to try things out!
@@TheBudgetFoodie agree, going to try those today !! so many recipes have long long lists of ingredients, most of which are not necessary - use what you have and dare to do it differently !
Spicy lentil soup with croutons or French onion. Broccoli quiche. Stir fry cabbage with rice. Use your soup mix with some of the ham or bacon. Chickpea burgers. Caramelised banana. When in doubt, make a soup...carrot and coriander.
Another tip with raw ginger. Make a ginger tea. Peel, and chop raw ginger. Pour on boiling water. Add honey, to sweeten. If desired. Good for getting rid of period pain .xx
Thank you Rechenda it all looked lovely but you never said how it tasted was it a hit or a miss ...as for the carrots if you have some coriander you could do a lovely soup or add it to your cabbage and onion for a coleslaw ..(And handsome Jack at the end).xxx
Lovely looking meal, well done making the breads! Im curious about your spoon, is it wood? Does it have special meaning to you as you use it often? Also, you can cook meat from frozen as long as you make sure its cooked through, I often do casseroles with frozen chicken x
Hi Rechenda, a little tip to extend the life of your carrots is to peel them and chop them however you wish and then put them in an air tight container submerged in water, they last me weeks! And stay nice and crunchy and also cuts down time on food prep, I also do this with peppers and cucumber sticks, great as snacks or for salads though don't last quite as long as the carrots but still a good ten days plus, love your videos xx
That’s an amazing looking meal and very nutritious, well done with the flat bread, you e inspired me to get cooking today. I grate carrots into bolognese and casseroles or carrot soup is yummy.
I love that you’re so creative with cooking and don’t worry that you haven’t got particular ingredients. Coconut milk is widely used in addition to curry’s to make them gorgeous and creamy, quark can be used too. If you ever have any left ver potatoes, spinach and potato curry is gorgeous, with lentil Dahl. Xx
Sliced up fresh strawberries with some sugar sprinkled on them will turn into a delicious sauce if you leave it for half an hour in the fridge. Use on pancakes or ice cream or serve with a piece of pound cake
Ooh, there's so much you can do with carrots. Roasted carrots, vegetable soup with some cabbage and tomatoes, steamed with a squeeze of citrus, shredded as a salad. Didn't notice if you have raisins or currants in your pantry, but they are great in a carrot salad. If you google carrot recipes, I'm sure you'll find more recipes. Have recently started watching your videos, and find you innovative I the kitchen. Fingers crossed for your car.
I do 1 cup rice, 1 + 3/4 cup of water. Bring to a boil, once boiling, turn temp down to the lowest possible, add the lid, keep going until water has all evaporated. Once water has evaporated, turn heat off, wrap the lid in a tea towel, and put back on the pan to steam the rice. Comes out sooooo fluffy. (Also don't wash it beforehand).
Isn't it funny. I am the opposite when it comes to food, I cannot touch food that is out of date or even near it, would never pre cook food to eat days later, I am the fussiest, oddest person ever but yet I love your videos, I have just found you, you are so enjoyable and relaxing to watch❤
The good thing about soups and a curry is that you can use up all of the wreckage from the cupboard and fridge 😊along with the spices.✔️ Naan or flatbreads are just flour and water cooked in a hot pan. Good video 👍🇦🇺
That's a bangin' supper you made there. Apples and strawberries are a good combination too. Apple and strawberry pie was one of my favourite puddings when I was at high school - some decades ago lol! Carrot curry is a nice recipe. Xx
You come up with some unusual combinations! I wouldn't have thought to put peaches in the curry! I would have used the peaches to make a crumble! Hope it tasted ok
Easiest ice cream I've made is the vegan "nice" cream - peel a few bananas and chop them into chunks, freeze them solid, then throw them (still frozen) into a food processor. Instant soft serve ice cream! You can throw flavourings straight into the processor too, like a bit of vanilla extract, or a blob of raspberry jam for a sort of ripple, or my favourite is a spoonful of peanut butter and a good shake of cocoa powder 😋🍨
Simple flatbread = equal amounts of natural yoghurt and flour, pinch of salt. Dry fry on high heat. Make a good pizza base as well, no need to pre-cook the flatbread just top it and cook it 🙂
Ru and Binky and the mystery of the curry. I haven't made brown rice in ages but my memory is telling me that it takes around twice as long to cook as the white. I've got my fingers crossed it works out. Btw, we have a similar number of spices, I enjoy cooking from all over the world. Fruit in curry is very niceindeed. Jacques the counter
Alexa stole my pita recipe!!! hehehe (I don't use any yakky phone apps) for the past few years we've been putting sour cream or yoghurt in out flat bread (with a bit of bicarb) that's leavening #1 and then Baking Powder #2 and yeast #3. I like the results.
In India and environs the make a sweet Carrot Halvah. Carrots also go into breads and pancakes and scones etc even good in Biscuits (cookies) with mixed sweet spices
Wonderful video, as usual. The rice and the lentils combine to make a complete protein. You don’t need meat in this lentil dish. Try making pita in the oven. No pans needed and super exciting watching them puff up and cook.
You could look up recipe videos for carrot bacon, also lentil or quinoa wraps are really easy to make - quite a few videos on You Tube. Curry and pud both looked great!
You could do a red lentil curry and add the veg and some coconut milk. Or make lentil burgers or I think you can make lentil wraps. You can also freeze bananas and make a kind of icecream. You could also roast carrots with honey and 5 spice. You can also half the carrots roast some and boil others then add ginger and put the roasted ones and boiled in a saucepan with chicken stock. It makes a really good soup. You could also add the strawberries with balsamic vinegar or make a strawberry puree for your porridge.
Well done rechenda the curry and the naan breads looked a triumph. And a crumble as well🔥🔥. I picked a load of blackberries yesterday so nice to get them for free because they aint cheap🙋♂️
If you get your hands on some cream or whole milk the 🥦 broccoli, cheese and rice makes a lovely soup to go with the crusty bread. Good luck with the car.
