Dude, I feel like I owe you money now. A few months back I bought a Klarus XT2CR and it died inside of 4 months of easy use. Klarus said they would replace it through the dealer (GearBest) but GB would only give me back less than half what I paid for it. I followed your directions on this and it fixed the light! Thanks!

I love this VG-15s, good info to know. By the way, I found your video by accident, you might want to put Thorfire or VG-15s in the video title so that people can find it.

Bought TG06S and it didn’t work right. Good thing that Amazon has an excellent replacement policy and the new one works perfectly. Thanks for this video. I’ll be able to use it if I have problems.

@free field training I have used this as a EDC / duty light for over a year, I keep a brand new one on standby but never had to use it. Use it ever day. And its only $20 I have tries light 10 times the size that were half the quality. I highly recommend this light.

Dielectric grease and automotive battery terminal protection paste are what I use in my lights.

Anyone know if you can change the switch to reduce the modes? I'd prefer one or two modes, I'll never use the lower ones and they just make it more difficult to use the light when I accidentally switch to them.
@freefieldtraining

+Chris Jones I'm pretty sure the most selection is electronic. Check out ThruNite though. They have a US option that allows you to get just high and strobe (they call it "tactical mode") or different brightness levels (they call it" outdoor mode"). Pretty convenient.

This is a fairly new torch, it recharges via micro USB or simply changing out the battery with a spare. Not sure if it's practical for law enforcement however I can blind a kangaroo with it from a mile away, definitely check it out sometime.

@Mrmareen19
@Mrmareen19 7 лет назад
Yes it was $24.99 with two free batteries, plus a combo deal for $39.99 for the flash light, charger, and 4 batteries. 3 of the 4 last less than a few hours and cause low beam, one works perfectly.

Maybe you could do a video on budget friendly flashlights for pistols (I'm not saying that to be cheap I just don't see the point of spending over a 100 bucks on a flashlight)
@freefieldtraining
@freefieldtraining 6 лет назад
+Mistr Fusion if you want a pistol light that is good I'm afraid your starting point is about $100. There aren't holsters being made for lights that cost much less than that. If you know of any I'd be happy to take a look.

sure fire or nothing.
@freefieldtraining
@freefieldtraining 7 лет назад
+tin foil surefire is definitely a much better brand, but "or nothing"? No streamlight? I have had nothing but luck with streamlight flashlights. (I use mine as a door knocker at work every night and have yet to break it after six years or so) And all their rechargeable duty lights come with a cradle charger so there is way less to wear out not opening the thing up to change batteries every week or so. Expand your mind a bit brother, budget lights might not be for you but there are a few VERY good companies out there that are well worth taking a look at.
@tinfoil6246

free field training i will explain my philosophy a little. lights are just as important as a gun.you dont carry a high point or a Raven 25.because its cheap.so why carry a cheap light? buy one's cry once and never cry again. I think Streamlight is 75% of what a Surefire is for half the price. but I will ask you how much is 25% more quality and lumens worth when it's a life-and-death situation?
@freefieldtraining
@freefieldtraining 7 лет назад
+tin foil I've just never found surefire to be better than a streamlight for a duty light. I hear people talk about it all the time, but I hear people talk about how much better their agency arms glock is than a stock one... I also don't see that. I think lots of people are spending money to have the coolest stuff around, which is fine , but that doesn't necessarily make that stuff better. Especially in regards to police duty lights. Surefire has the lawman and streamlight the stinger. Pretty comparable when matched generation to generation. The surefire is twice the price of the stinger, yet I haven't managed to break my stinger after many years of hard abuse. How do you quantify "better" then? When neither breaks nor has a distinct performance advantage? Spend all you want if that's what makes you happy, but most guys aren't going to spend $450 on a flashlight unless there is a performance or durability advantage. From what I've seen the advantage surefire has is in cool points, not in function or durability...and I've owned plenty of both.

free field training Streamlight makes good task lights. but my personal setup is in my left pocket I have a 320 Lumen Surefire and a 1000 lumen Surefire with a Switchback ring. I thought we were just talking about fighting lights something you will use in conjunction with a handgun or as an impact weapon. as a task light use ever you want.but I personally would not bet my life on any other brand the surefire because I've never had any of mine break.
@freefieldtraining
@freefieldtraining 7 лет назад
+tin foil I use the stinger in conjunction with a handgun. I wouldn't use it as an impact weapon because I have impact weapons (I think strike bezels are silly, never seen anyone use one, liability wise they are a nightmare) For cops there are not "tactical lights" and "task lights". Those are just buzz words used for advertising purposes.

The issue is that its a cheap piece of shit. Hey bro , Ive been thinking my black ass should start a youtube or vlog channel, cuz I got a lot of nonconsensical things I wanna say, thing is that I can never show my face... that shit will get me fired quick. Counties dont play..niggas deep. Check this out, check this out.... _______ As a cop, I love phrases, catchwords and mantras. Here's a list of time quotes that got me couple unintentional laughs. 1. Me I hate magicians, I'm always looking at the hands ya know because you never know when they may make something appear, or disappear. Deep. 2. Why these people always acting like they didn't have it coming 3. Your license is wicked expired man, actually bro. the 90s called they want their license back, 4. Shit dude. Im just trying to get creative about how Imma get into this car. I don't smell anything but i can if I need too. Im only going that way if I can back it with something, or I just really need to get in that car. 5. alright lets gang bang(when we're about to jack someone up) let's get ignorant(when were about to do something that will get us fired.) 6. Yea bro they got some wicked shit dude but no drug history. No reasonable suspicion, can't even terry stop em. 7. I gotta bad feeling about it. So be like code 9 with a bitch if you can. Imma make an approach after this other deputy park up 8. Hey bro there like gangsters I think they got a strap or something so I don't wanna make an approach alone. But there like selling some wicked shit down there. 9. Shit dude, fuck. Like both of them is like tatted the fuck up, scars and too bro. uh there from T flats too. There like spooky as fuck. I swear bro if they pop up imma light they ass up with the quickness. 10. We are not gonna have court on the street out here I am not a judge. But if you wanna waive your 6th Amendment rights just ask and i'll take you down to the creek and judge the shit out of dude. I have found that using the words “dude”, “bro”, “boss”, “man”, and “hun” really eased the people I’ve encountered. It shows that I am human and I wanna be your friend, so we should like paint our nails and talk about cute boys.
