With a lack of affordable Night Vision options, we'll be looking at the Wolf-14 night vision device from AGM and shed some light on night vision technology and it's applications in Airsoft.
This is a fascinating topic and a very, very deep rabbit hole to venture down. I will try to make it understandable as far as what we have here. The affordable AGM Wolf-14 NVG for an easy introduction and getting started with night vision.

Hersteller und NV Designer hier 👋 Großes Lob! Endlich mal RICHTIG guter content aus Deutschland! Ehrlich gesagt, sogar international. Du hast dich sehr gut informiert. Bin echt Stolz auf dich! Nichts halbgares. Du hast hier alles richtig dargestellt. Super Video und gerne mehr über Night Vision machen! Next step: Thermal ;) Grüße EDIT: Kleiner Fehler, ich muss dich korrigieren. Generation 4 ist Filmless. Genau wie du sagtest. Jedoch gibt es keine Generation 3 Filmless tubes und somit auch kein Generation 4. Das DOD in Amerika gibt die Generationen Regel vor. Der Hersteller L3 hat die letzten 20 Jahre stark an Filmless tubes gearbeitet. Durch das GaAs ist es aber leider unmöglich. Deswegen konnten sie nur die Stufe "Thin-Film" und "Super Thin-Film" erreichen. Super thin film ist heute bekannt als "L3 unfilmed" welches extra nicht filmless genannt wurde, da es immer noch einen Film enthält. Die einzigen echten Filmless tubes auf dem heutigen Markt sind Gen2+ tubes wie zum Beispiel "Photonis 4G". Ist leider eine weitverbreitete misconception. EDIT 2: Manual Gain und Auto-gating hat nichts mit einander zutun. Manual Gain ist einfach nur die manuellen Helligkeitseinstellung des phosphor screens. Tubes ohne Manual Gain laufen einfach auf der höchsten Gain/Helligkeitsstufe! :) Auto-gating hast du ja bereits perfekt erklärt. Tubes ohne auto-gating benutzen jedoch ein anderes System, genannt "BSP". BSP halbiert die Voltage zu deiner Tube wenn du in helles Licht schaust. Das resultiert in niedriger Auflösung, weil weniger Strom. Auto-gating ist nur dafür da um den Verlust der Auflösung auszugleichen! Jedoch kannst du mit auto-gating und BSP gleichermaßen in hellen Licht situation arbeiten. Auto-gating macht das nur viel besser und angenehmer.

Ich muss sagen, dass ich das mit L3 sogar gelesen habe, es aber echt unübersichtlich ist. Gerade mit den ganzen Goverment contracts etc. Deshalb vielen Dank das du dein Wissen hier dazugibst!!!

@@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft Ich habe zu danken, für das tolle Video! Würde mir gerne mehr davon wünschen. Das Thema liegt dir! Besonders der "wissenschaftliche" Teil mit deinen eigenen Grafiken hat mir sehr gefallen. Du verstehst wie die Thematik funktioniert und kannst es sogar verständlich darstellen. Kleine Fehler wie die Zwei im Video sind völlig normal. Gerade weil informationen nur beschränkt verfügbar sind. Einiges findet man auch nur in privaten Archiven von L3 oder Photonis, was ziemlich blöd ist. Weiter so!

@@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft Momentan gibt's bei Aldi-Online dass meiner Meinung nach beste Anfänger Thermalgerät für nur 399,- (Hikmicro BE10) Es hat einen 256x192 VOx Sensor und kann sogar über WLAN aufnehmen. Das wäre wirklich cool als Vergleich zu deinem 640x480 AGM Thermal spotter. Das wäre nämlich noch im Budget für die meisten Airsofter. Bis 100m und teilweise mehr, kann man damit auf jeden Fall arbeiten! Vielleicht könntest du dir das ja mal irgendwann anschauen. Momentan ist's im Angebot. Ich besitze viele Thermal Geräte und muss zugeben dass man meistens nicht mehr braucht. Hat mich sehr beeindruckt.

@@PhoenixFeatherAirsoft yeah that’s really cool. I just received my Wolf -14 in the mail today as well. I am planning on doing the Bonnie hat mod like you have and also have you done a video yet on how to set up your hat mod also it would be great to show a good comparison of the older version wolf-14 versus the newer version type that would be really great and if there is difference in the signal-to-noise ratio or field of view, I believe the older veneration is a 40° field the view and the newer one is a 42° field of view if I’m not mistaken also I believe there is a first version of the wolf 14 that was actually larger and used FLIR shoe style mounts instead of the standard USG type mounts that uses the J Arm. anyways thank you for making such a great video and looking forward to seeing other great upload from you Buddy 👍👍👍 and much respect🫡

IST DAS EIN GUT GEMACHTES VIDEO. Auch wenn die Schnitte etwas sehr viel sind, muss ich sagen das es eines der besten "Review" Videos ist das ich je gesehen habe. Von der Technik hab ich keine Ahnung, aber die Schnitte, der Inhalt, die "dynamik", es sticht wirklich heraus. Wie lang machst du das schon? Bzw. hast du ne Profi ausbildung in dem Bereich?

It should be noted that this video is made in Europe. Outside of the U.S. they can only have gen 2+. Gen 3 night vision falls under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and is illegal to ship or to even take outside the U.S. without permission from any number of U.S. alphabet agencies.

It’s one of the first things I say. And to be technical your statement is wrong. Yes they can’t be exported but we have our own. That’s why I also say that AGM has a European warehouse. Photonis is literally a French company.

Well it’s till night vision. The technology is expensive and I go in great detail why that is. If you are looking for cheaper you will end up with an active illuminator

No, not really, I'm not really sure what you consider expensive, but you can get one for less than 2,000 around 1,700, 1,750 on certain sites

Es ist und bleibt eine generation 2 Röhre wenn überhaupt 2+ ja die informationen sind ganz ok aber damt kan ein laie der selbst zu faul zum googeln ist und sich nicht damit auseinandersetzt auch nichts anfangen ,für 2000 euro ist das gerät ganz ok aber agm benutzte oft günstige linsen und okulare die ausgefranzt sind an den rändern oder Fischaugen optik hatten ob das immer noch so ist weis ich leider nicht ,hast du irgendwelche informationen zur verbauten Röhre ? ist es eine photonis comercial grade? eine echo ? alles unter 1500 fom ist nur bedingt nutzbar ,siehe erste kamera einstellung im dunklen wald ohne wenig bis kaum restlicht stinken diese röhren ab snr kickt rein und das thema nvg ist obsulet ,wenn dann empfehle ich alles ab phtonois echo röhren ab 1600 fom ,fals du noch fragen hast zum thema röhren unterschiede und feinheiten meld dich gerne .
