In addition to buying cheap bundles (often Xbox 360) I've tried to be patient and hunt for consoles/other gear that is donated for free on the net. It takes a lot of patience but a few days ago I got a boxed PS1 with dual shock controller and a dance matt. Of course there are many many weeks when there is nothing to get. The best one I got for free is PS4 VR1-set with two motion controllers. When I went to pick those up I started to feel foolish for believing anyone would give this kind of set for free and that it would only be a prank from some kinds who would get good laughs with me. But to my surprise it was a real giveaway (they were moving to another apartment and wanted to get stuff away quickly). So we got to play VR games that Playstation gave away for free during covid in their play-at-home campaign. This route is cheap but it also takes huge amount on patient scrolling of the sites and also good amount of luck. Gladly there is often something cheap to buy so not to get altogether disappointed if nothing free is available 🙂

Got my wii for $70. Was one of my favorite purchases ever. Has an awesome library and most games I find for it tend to be around $25-$30. Also love how it's backwards compatible with the Gamecube.

Love my backwards compatible Wii. Hate the fact that GameCube games are so expensive now though.

There’s no shame in buying cheap games, especially ones that you’re interested in

Exactly. I've been buying cheap exclusives on the OG Xbox here and there. While not the greatest, I was interested in them and found them to be fun for the price I paid for them.

@@Throggy I remembered buying Wii Play Motion, Chess, Fit Plus, Music and Party a few years ago. It made me feel proud of owning all the ‘Wii’ series of games, even though some of them are bad or mid. So I get how you feel

I collect and play mostly for the ps1 …. Luckily I have some of the rare titles and jrpgs complete pre Covid/collector market surge. I will still recommend the original psx to collect for any newcomer in the hobby. PlayStation 1 has so many inexpensive and interesting titles in the massive library I’ve yet to play.

This is also true. I know there's some high priced titles in every gaming catalogue, should have mentioned the Playstation 1!

Great video. Doesn't effect me in my country for some prices but I agree with many of the points still applying besides the difference in currency value. 360s are great the BC works and I don't own a Xbox OG anymore so I played Project Gotham Racing 1&2 on there in 2020 it's still up till we hear other internet services go it is internet based after all hmmmm makes you wonder though. Even for PS2 I don't own a PS1 because why would I, my PS2 is 20 years old and never had to repair it. A Phat model, internet disk/modem too haven't been used since but still have them stored away like the 2 demo disks. Old consoles have DVDs/Blu ray players still for watching I use mine for any releases I buy and used to but don't as often use them for RU-vid as got other devices for that instead, sure streaming not likely as the services end on older consoles over time but still everyone has other consoles/devices for that. The graphics and consoles vary but are still visible and clear what's going on or age well like cell shades games or even some realistic ones may be dated but some racing games look amazing still. Making only particular ones stand out from third parties then the notable ones people can easily pick up and play. Besides collectors go for the niche ones anyways so notable games are easier to get hands on and probably enjoy for most people (easier backwards compatibility too then niche ones that may but usually don't) but some of them are exciting to play for their mechanics/lacking relevance and such. Says a lot when I get DS/PS3/Wii/PS2/360 for around $1-19 sometimes at my local game stores and depending on the IP value. Many notable, some niche they don't care about. Sure it's expensive when buying many but just 1 game yeah it's pretty fair I'd say. Licensed games (tv shows or even racing licenses those go cheap because they aren't relevant anymore so I love picking up bike or car games for cheap) can hide gems like Hotwheels for the Wii, Meet the Robinsons as a 3D platformer (got DS version as it's what the store had and as seemed cool to me I don't own ma y 3D games on DS) Speed Racer the video game as almost F Zero to a degree on PS2/Wii. I always enjoy Monsters Inc Scare Island and replay my childhood copy from time to time like Spyro 1-3 and Gran Turismo 1&2. Granted emulation if people know how but what's the fun in that unless trying games and going nah isn't for me or is for me kind of thing if footage isn't enough or checking stores and going back later if it's still there the game looking for. The odd Wii U/Vita/3DS it varied a bit I got NES Remix and Batman Blackgate for a fair price in EB so that was cool. Or Invisimals the Pokemon AR kind of game on Sony handhelds from 2009-2014 before smartphones and it's ok AR is a bit awkward but with AR card images on my phone it's playable and bought it lose for $6-7. I don't get them as heavily but I bet the prices are what they are because of eshop death or US prices then AUD prices. Complete has been possible with a few games, I don't own many loose just those with disk/case no manual and does have box, some of later gems of eight more the lacking or the odd PS3/360/Wii in EB Games but retro stores it's case and disk/art or all included. I mostly have Vita, GBA or PSP games loose not a single 3DS or DS yet. Or I guess my MK Double Dash that's $20 and broken at least have it in my Wave Race Blue Strom case that's completel and was cheap enough to own 1 GameCube game proudly besides my 3 OG Xbox games and well my Voodoo Vince I can't play but own for when I get an OG Xbox so PGR1&2 was happy with to play for 360 BC testing. :) These types of videos help but even then bargain bins for $28 (yeah EB Games prices sometimes in my local game store for eighth gen series) on PS4/Xbox One works around a year old, maybe more years. But otherwise older consoles yeah have to have them first and how cheap they are. I think for me they are in fair $100-200 prices (I think at least) for PS3/360 I just don't buy them more my Vita 1000/2000, PSP 2000 or DS OG or N64. Got all but the DS for around $100-250 range depending from each at retro game stores. A Switch for $300 at one, New 3DS XL for $148 at EB. Vita 1000 at $200, 2000 at $100 and PSP 2000 I think at $90 but those were all different years too. In the US I know consoles go real cheap but to me it's a bit more for certain consoles or the ones I asked were just that. I saw a GameCube Platinum model for $99 in Box no controller, memory card I don't know about power cables but as have a Wii felt no need to/no idea where to store it. That's the provider with backwards compatibility systems. XD Of course old rare consoles yeah. But good selling ones are the most suitable but get people hours of fun and for cheap with hundreds of games just depends as we get so many re-releaees it's hard to tell whether to wait for prices on those (if digital code physical then well yeah no question never buy them). But I mean why buy RE 5&6 when got them on PS3 cheap right. Yeah Jak games are good but their digital PS3/4 and PS3 collection physical is easier to get them the limited release PS4 version I bet and for open worlds their fine but eh the aiming not a fan of compared to Ratchet. It takes getting used to in Jak the aiming. Still good games I just prefer linear and I had experienced them in the past but eh no nostalgia there not that that matters to me. Kind of does the niche games or particular notable I used to own and want to track down eventually but still. I'll get to Kya Dark Lineage, Battle Engine Aquila, Forza Motorsport 1, Colin McRae Rally 03 & 04 and more over time. Or other games come across via emulation. It's why I buy third party so many gems or notable there. I own a few first party I missed out on like SOCOM on PSP of all things need to get a console entry besides the old SOCOM 2 headset box. MotorStorm never played, Killzone 1/Liberation never owned but glad I do now (Mercenary to go and got the whole series). I wasn't paying $100 for Skyward Sword on Wii. XD I don't have many disks I take back either. But I haven't bought PS1 games for $30, eh cases and disks even though want some of those games. I don't buy online so I check my local game stores. But I have very few GameCube and Xbox OG but other systems sure no issues for me experience.

I know it's probably a Real Thing That Actually Exists, but the name SOCOM will never *not* sound to me like the setup for a Ligma. That being said, I'd recommend handhelds like the Game Boy/Color, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable because they're not likely to go up in price as most video game fans don't have the highest opinion of such portables. I _did_ ask myself, "Wait, what about the 3DS?", to which I realized, "Wait, never mind," as that's likely to head in the GameCube's general direction. The PlayStation Vita is right out.

Lol Vita prices are insane right now. I used to own one but I couldn't really afford a lot of the games I wanted, so I sold it. Maybe one day I'll get another one.

Nothing wrong with buying cheap games because these video game prices are insane
@Gamster_007
@Gamster_007 Год назад
One way to get cheap games is to buy a bundle and then sell unnecessary games one by one. If the original bundle has one or two decently valuable games you can almost get the rest for free after selling those ones.

Isn't every 360 backwards compatible as long as you have an official hard drive
@Throggy
@Throggy Год назад
I want to say the 4GB ones are not backwards compatible but I could be wrong. I meant to say that be careful because some people have replaced the official hard drive in their 360’s and will sell them.
