I bought this 3 years ago and I love it. It has been everywhere with me and it's my favourite watch to wear day to day. I have another Casio rose gold G Shock and a gold TAG, but this is my fav. Cheers for the review.
I have the black band version and have been beating the heck out of it for 3 years now and it just keeps going! It's no G-shock but it's taken years of hard use without skipping a beat, love it! Casio really does make some great watches and not just the G-shock line. I have a bunch and there all awesome.
I have the MCW-100H-1AVEF with a black strap, one of my favourite watches to use when doing active sports, very clear and easy to read. Some nice little touches for a cheap watch.
I understand the opinion of your son because the Sky cockpit is a kinda love it or not thing...i love it and got it after seeing your first review. The cheaper Chrono is cool but not an alternative. Only *bad* thing on the Sky Cockpit is the missing Light Button.... Greets from Germany to you and your son!
These non G-SHOCK Casio’s are good value check out the AE2100W/4AV 200m world time etc for less than $40. I have the mcw110 you can use the 5610 adapter and fit a 24mm NATO strap.
Ok, you need to bring jr in some more. The banter is good. Plus, I forgot how much I liked the sky cockpit but resisted due to price. The little brother might just hit the spot.
I agree with the kid on all points. If the case just said G-Shock on it, that would be a $200+ watch.. The dial looks a lot like my $300 Mud Master. For $40 - Just bought it. Better to beat on that then wear my orange mud master to work. This Friday the all black MRW200H is getting delivered - hands down best tactical looking analog and only a $20 watch. I’m still in disbelief it was so cheap. My Timex Expedition is a pretty cool looking knock around watch too. Practically weightless, solar powered, nice look - If only it had a functional bezel that could turn.. I need to stop buying watches….
How cheap is the plastic? I had an original G-Shock with rubber/plastic casing that took a beating and lasted me 14 years! Want to know if the material on MCW100H-4AV is going to last me more than a couple of months.
is the Crystal GLASS ???? i have the Orange 3000 Silicone Band and the Green 4000 Black PVD Bracelet- the 4000 easier to READ the 3000 Dial is too Small and Complicated . i harly Wear them mostly wear the GA100c Blue Hnads with MODED Bright Orange Segments on the Dial Easier to Read than the Original Black Segments . Also have the Casio Tough Solar also a Good Buy but Wished had a Crystal not Plastic Glass
So, I'm normally not a plastic watch, but the orange/black worked with an outfit I love. Walmart had it on clearance for $15, because the battery was dead. I shelled out the money and got a $0.25 lithium battery too. $15.25 that punches in the G-shock territory. G-shocks are way overpriced for what you get, and still aren't even as tough as a quality steel Japanese, German and Swiss watch. Their fat plastic bulk won't save them from true abuse, and they're prone to catching stuff and the bands tearing, or ripping spring bars out. I was gifted a slightly expensive ($149 - made like a $25 watch....sorry.... G-Shocks aren't worth the money - coming from a steel addict). My G-shock is huge, ugly, and overpriced like the one you have. Sorry to knock a watch you like, but they're a waste of money, IMHO Serious, tougher, and fearure full Seiko territory the G-shocks live in and are about 1/1000th as thick and bulky.(OK, 30% less). That said, I feel the 5434 MCW-100H is a hard hitter at the $15 clearance, and os worth $45 easily. I have multiple Illuminators, a world time, and tje ani-digi $149 G-shi.... shock. Sorry. LOL If you're worried about scratching a g-shock, you can buy new cases for the modules and bands. G-shocks: Overpriced for what it is. Illuminators: Bang for buck. MCW-100H: easily as rugged as the G-shock, and while less functions; who uses all of those features anyway. I'd rather wear my steel sub $3K sports watches anyway, because they take a car tire, while the G-Shock will be a pile of plastic. Sorry for ruining on and on. Thanks for doing a side-by-side. Makes me even more thrilled I have the MCW-100H for $15.25 brand new. Phenomenal chrono has just what you need. Unlike the shocks, of which I own one, this is far more practical. You have a Seiko Monster? That'll take 200x the abuse of your plastic fantastic expensive g-shock. I'd be wearing the Monster. Thanks again for the video though. I have this watch… brought 2nd hand from a second hand site… was intact…bought only 20 dollars…only problem in luminous function…. But great watch at this price… love from Bangladesh
