Excellent work. And you're right, there are cheap brushless systems out there. Like 45 euro for a 3900kv motor and 60A Esc on Aliepxress. Plus 25 euro for a receiver and remote. Oh, and 2 euro for a 4cm fan to keep it from cooking.
Man other than just 2wd this truck really checks all the boxes for me! Even before brushless! I am saving the pennies for this one. Just so tuff looking. I know 2wd bashing can be fun and probably no flipping which is fine. Just love this truck.
Yes the spares are on the expensive side and I run mine on a brushless 3s set up and nothing breaks on it. The first thing I did was to reinforce the body shell with mesh and shoegoo as it’s known to be weak but it it does now seem indestructible💪👍
great video. I have found these 2wd monster trucks do very well on 2s with minor upgrades. For example my ECX RUCKUS all I did was put a HOT RACING spur gear, a traxxas 15t motor and a 2s lipo, really woke it up!
@@beyondRC no doubt brother. Don't get me wrong. I bought the ecx amp mt and left that brushed, but I also bought a used ecx torment 2wd SCT which I converted to brushless.
That's one thing I love about my FTX vantage 2.0 brushless. . the parts prices are silly cheap. Mind you they break easily, especially if you smack them into a tree.
I just bought my first rc car 2 weeks ago. A slash bl 2s. At first, i was really interested in the gorgon, mjx hypergo and the omni-terminator. But its to risky. Alot of "budget" cars are label as beginners friendly but i feel its more for the ppl who owns more then 1 car, have parts etc and know the risks. 200$ is nothing if you have parts, motors etc.
That is soo fast now 😲, I wish my brushed ftx outlaw was that fast 😂. I go play with it everyday outside my house and the motor extremely overheats, so I have to wait every 5 min for it too cool down. I am thinking of getting a brushless combo but for now I am saving up for a 2s lipo battery because I only have some old nihm batteries and they pretty slow. Do you have any brushless combo or 2s lipo recommendations that I could fit for the future? (My motor I have rn is a maverick 550 motor and the nihm I have rn are some goldbat champions and some voltz ones.
I had a Lunchbox I converted to 2s and a brushless motor. It was damn near undriveable. I think the problem was the high cg combined with the really heavy ABS body.
very easy to do and is a direct fit but you will need a pinion with a 5mm bore as the spektrum motor has a 5mm shaft not 3.175mm bore like the stock pinion gear. I used this: www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/viewproduct/17338/traxxas-pinion-gear-13t-08mod-5mm-shaft-trx5642
I can see it hugely improves performance of the truck and it would be great fun to do it,,, however for me I kind of don't think its worth it. Th truck costs 170 quid,, add on 15 quid wheelie bar and electronics it easily takes it to 270. At the price there are many brushless entry options that are 4 wheel drive. Where I personally think this works is as a good 25mph entry fun vehicle,, if later you want more better to sell the Gorgon (which won't be difficult) and put it towards a 3s brushless model such as Quantum 2 or even the new Corally Synchro 4 which you can pick up for 299. I think quite often upgrades are not really about being cost effective, its more about having fun and spreading the cost such as the Arrma Boost range. Just my opinion of course,, either way I am buying a Gorgon for my son, its such a good truck and my son loves the look of it.
Very true and the parts I used in this video from the 3s blx infraction would have cost close to £200 if purchased separately. Mt10, quantum 2 flux or synchro 4 would be better if looking to spend around £300 for sure
Very Easy on the mt12 select radio link and as a sub category dumboRC should be listed. Select bnd on mt12 Of course make sure the receiver is in bind mode by clicking in the little button on the side and should work perfectly 😎
