Thanks for all the alternatives. Some of us don't have really big cash flows to afford the higher end products. Wishing you and your family peace, love, and joy in 2024. Happy New Year.
Love ❤️ this and how much you mean to us all. Thank you for taking the time out to help &share the details of each products . Love your videos and the feedback you’ve given us. Xx
Love this video! It has great picks and the swaps are exciting to learn about. Thank u for teaching us about the products and how to read the ingredients and labels that has helped me alot in my skincare journey. Would you be able to do a video about Korean skincare? Maybe a little bit about the approach itself, why it's so renowned, and maybe some top picks?
Have you checked out the Paula's Choice 25% vit c + glutathione clinical serum? The main vit c is THD. Another swap that's come up is for the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. The swap recommended is the Embryolisse Lait-Crème (there's a sensitive version of this as well for people who don't want fragrance). Rhode Skincare has a peptide lip product that some like that's around $16.
That’s crazy we have the same avene product in Canada it’s called night peeling cream, same exact ingredients as retinAl for $57 Canadian. Although it goes on sale all time at shoppers so I never pay more than $45
Also, the Advanced Clinicals retinol lotion in a pump container is good. Dr. Dray recommended it and I found it super affordable at Marshalls. I’m making an effort for more body care active treatment this year 🎉
I wish all creams came in pump top! Love the Glow Recipe Niacinamide, think I’ll try the vit C as my Paula’s Choice Vit C just got accidentally knocked off bathroom counter this morning 😢
Dr. Marin you got me hooked on the Tula glow gel sunscreen but I haven’t found a good dupe for it. Do you have a recommendation or did I miss it in any of your videos? It filters the face nicely and helps my oily skin.
✨❤️Great video, great price points, nice options- Thanks‼️❤️✨ The items in my routine from this list: PTR vitamin C serum, Inkey List peptide lip treatment, Avene RetrinAL, Gold Bond retinol cream, Australian Gold❤️✨
I'm not sure why people are saying it's getting away from budget-friendly. Because you give us options. You also show us what else is out there. Which is what we would like to know. At least I would so thank you very much for all your hard work and time.
The cheapest products that will work. Anything else is money wasted, even if cheaper. She also gives options (you have to go through more videos) for ingredients that you want in your skin care regimine for the cheapest. I bought a more expensive vitamin c because it will last longer because of packaging and ingredients, which saves me money.
Do you have a video specifically on the light therapy mask, it is such a splurge I would like to be better informed before I make this purchase. Thank you for sharing all these products, it takes the guess work out of it.
I need budget friendly skin care. I already own a lot. And every time I get skin care my husband makes comments. I’m going to get the skin barrier and the vitamin C. My skin can’t handle strong vitamin C serums. It dries it out really bad. And I may be getting the Australian Gold in the light. I don’t normally like tinted sunscreen. And I would like to get the lip device. I can’t get rid of the lines around my mouth. I just won’t tell my husband what that costs. Thanks for another great video.
Appreciate your time, knowledge, and some options out there. I know you mention the Avene a lot but do you really use that retinal product over tretinoin?
Excellent recommendations! FYI: because of your stance on skincare packaging--which I highly endorse--you have edged out Dr. Dray as my favourite YT derm (and that's saying a lot!). ❤❤❤
hello! do you try any korean skincare? I have not seen you reviewing it. I think it would widely expand your audience and also they make amazing skincare for cheap! :) also, mos tof the products you review are only available in US so for use Europeans are hard to reach, whereas korean are available worldwide plus cheaper for same or better quality, so matches your "budger dermatoligist" name:)
I tried the Australian Gold last summer and it just felt so thick on my face and instantly makes me sweat. It's also a little oddly coloured on me. And so far every Australian sunscreen people rave about smells like yeast. I'm still searching for my sunscreen soulmate that's available here in Canada, that isn't $50+ for 50mL that feels like I don't have a silicone mask on, doesn't burn my eyes and I can't taste even when it's nowhere near my mouth :(
Dr. Locke thank you so much for your videos I’ve been such an avid fan! I wanted to ask what your thoughts are on LED face masks versus panels? What do you recommend? Thanks!
Please, please do a dive into essences like skIII. Do they work with or without fermented part? Do they draw skincare to deeper levels of the skin. I found a budget essence Secret Key, is is a good swap?
I’m new to your channel. You speak really quickly for older ears and the way you whip products around when showing them makes it tough to ‘take in’/ write down names 😬 *I know you’re going quickly bc people these days hv such short attention spans. Just a note.
Great video, as always! Can you please give me your thoughts on the more budget friendly LED Mask by LuzRenew? Am I wasting my money on this one vs. Quare?
Hi there, I'm hoping to get a response.. what is a super moisturizer that I can use under my skin barrier product? That is a drugstore brand? I'm 60 have dry skin, but even more dry skin on my face. Please help.
Not really about this but how do you feel about double cleansing? Like an oil based cleanser to remove makeup and a more water based cleanser to do a deeper clean? I see a lot of people recommending it. If you reccomend it, what products would be good for it?
Instead of using an oil based cleanser try micellar water with your double cleanse. Use Bioderma Sensibio H2O to remove the makeup and follow-up with a gentle cleanser like Vanicream gentle facial cleanser. This is a great option to incorporate double cleansing into your routine especially if you have sensitive skin.
I feel like if the founder of The Ordinary hadn't died/been murdered we would have an affordable sunscreen in a 4oz+ bottle that was elegant for normal to oily skin types. It's easy to find sunscreen for dry skin. Everyone else are the ones in the struggle bus, specially those with sensitive and acne-prone skin. I mean, $40+ a month for sunscreen from Elta Md? I apply those 2-3 times a day, those bottles empty so quickly. The Beauty Of Joseon spf was a decent swap but I'm not sure it's non-comedogenic for me unfortunately. I'll keep trynig it. A lot of k beauty creams and lotions break me out.
She has previously stated in a video that she likes the masks for red light since there's more research on it and she isn't sure about the LED panels or hand held devices just yet bc since they're a new thing she's not sure if the process will yield the same results so for now she recommends the face mask
