I've been wearing this watch for a few days and I am severely disappointed. The watch faces look like my flip phone screen from 2006. The heart rate monitoring feature always reads 0 BPM unless I manually take a reading. When I do, it keeps that one the entire day instead of monitoring it throughout the day. When I get a phone call, it doesn't come through on the watch. But when I answer the call on my phone, it comes through on the watch. Which makes that feature totally useless. The battery goes from 100% to 70% in only a few hours. Workout tracking is also an absolute nightmare. The only good thing I liked was the call quality on the watch. Update: Luxium denied me a refund because I needed to have reported the issues 3 days after purchase when it took 4 days to get to me. What an absolute joke of a company.
Before you buy make sure to read their warranty. I bought one and it seemed to work fine. I wasn't crazy about some of the watch face choices. They seemed very much like a cartoon drawing. They problem was when I went on vacation. It says water proof, it should say water resistant. I didn't even wear it into water, but did do 10 minutes in a steam room. An hour after that the face disappeared and then totally stopped working. I followed the directions and tried to file a warranty claim. I was told the claim would be rejected due to abuse. I don't know how 10 minutes in a steam room is abuse especially if it is supposed to be waterproof. They don't stand behind their product.
I work in construction as an electrician and it fell off my wrist and shattered from a 4 foot drop. Since then I feel like those are just not for me. They’re too expensive to break every other month, so I got the Luxium Crusader for durability purposes and if I do break it it’s not gonna kill me like the $400 Apple Watch I had did.
@@RiseplayZ223 it’s alright. The software within the watch doesn’t really have accurate information and doesn’t track things very well. Doesn’t really hold up to what they say it does. It doesn’t really track anything automatically. You have to go into each one individually to track things like O2, BPM, etc. the only thing it tracks are steps but seems like it doesn’t actually track it very well since it’s very inconsistent. It doesn’t stay connected to your phone well either. It disconnects often. It needs a lot of work. It’s not worth the $120. It’s durable but I’d give it 2/5 stars
I have this watch paired with my iPhone 8 Plus. Was easy to set up. Works great. Is very comfortable too. Battery life is closer to 7 days but charges quickly. Surprisingly good value, imo!
Just got mine, no documentation. I have no idea how to turn it on even. It's charging, and that's the only thing that shows. I appreciate your informative review. Thank you
Most of these companies claim 21 days in standby mode. Which is bare minimum features running. Display set to low, etc etc. 7 days is pretty darn good if you’re using it heavy. Great review!
Agreed. They sent me another version and I am working on trying some different settings to see how long I can make it last without going full conservative mode. But yes, compared to my Fitbit, I find it lasts a little longer.
Thank you for this review. After receiving mine, I was troubled by several things, thinking I had just been had. I was reading the enclosed information and noticed a lot of spelling and grammar errors. Then there was the really old school DOS font for the watch serial number and some of the other messages. It brought to mind some children's toys from the 80s. It's light weight compared to my Samsung watch was pretty noticeable too. Now that the weather is actually accurate, I'm feeling better about it.
Yeah, the spelling and grammatical errors are a problem as they move forward, but I did send an email about it after my review. I have really enjoyed the newest model, as well. I now hope they will eventually allow users to remove apps they don’t need. I don’t need the woman’s cycle tracker on mine, or a bunch of other things.
Thank you for your review. I was interested in the watch, but after watching your review I'm not convinced enough to buy it. The spelling and grammatical errors tell me it's Chinese and not well made. The issue from another commentor about the steam room incident and lack of warranty integrity also tells me to not have my wife get it for me for Christmas to replace my Samsung watch. I think they did a good job with their advertising but it's not a good risk. I hate that Samsung only lasts about 36 to 48 hours on a charge. 7 days + would be awesome. And with today's technology it should be able to last that long, no matter the watch or fit bit. I also hate that it is difficult or impossible to replace the watch battery or even send it to Samsung to have the battery replaced. At the cost of an apple watch or Samsung, having the battery replaced should be easy. An expensive watch shouldn't be a throw away watch because of battery issues.
@@glutenfreejm3 I totally get that. I definitely agree that with how much something like smart watches cost, they shouldn't be one-and-dones. I will say, that I personally have still not had a problem with the 3 watches I have from Luxium. Not trying to sway you because I get absolutely nothing out of any sales for them, just saying that yes, there are some things I would love to see changed (ability to remove apps I'm not using is the biggest one), but I feel that these are good watches that stand up to the day-to-day use of an average joe. I don't want to take a sledge hammer to them for testing purposes or because I hate any of these, I have had mine get splashed washing my hands and by my daughter when giving her a bath, so I think that one might have been more due to heat or a factory defect, but I definitely wish they had stood by their product then. Just offering my two cents.
I have noticed that battery life is greatly reduced if you allow notifications. My first recharge was 24 hours after I started using it. I shut off the notifications and the battery lasted a few days. I've played around with different setups and none of them allow the battery to last as long as advertised, except not wearing it. I left it flat on the counter and it lasted 5 days. Still, it's a decent watch. I just miss that I can't cancel alarms on my phone by swiping my watch.
I have more complaints on the watch than I originally had. The watch's battery lasts a day, I can't text, and it doesn't accurately count steps. Their support team told me not to use some or any of the features the smartwatch to preserve battery power. I am not happy with this purchase.
Well, I’m sorry you seem to have gotten a bad one. All 3 of the watches I have from them last 5-7 days and the step counter is about on par with my Fitbit.
They are crap!! just got mine, very disappointed! You go to sync your contacts and it only shows like 12 of my 40 contacts and you can only choose 8 of those to put on watch! Its a terriby buy!!@@Aidan706
Oh, I'm not going to fully knock the battery life. I just want to know what settings they had to get to 21 days. I did another test with the screen brightness all the way down, I didn't pair it with the phone at all, and I didn't change screens. Only used it to check time, and same results. I was able to squeeze out 8 days. Again, a week is great I feel, but would rather companies under sell and over deliver.
I just got mine and set it up... fairly straight forward, the directions the watch came with are not as thorough as I would like, but I managed to get through it. The only thing at this point I do not care for is all the sound comes from my watch now while paired to my phone... this seems a bit counter productive. Is there a way to prevent that?
That has actually been a gripe of mine... until now. I just checked in my phone's settings, and on my Samsung Galaxy S9, if I go into manage connections and the blue tooth tab, I can actually hit a gear icon next to the watch's name and that allows me to turn on or off if a device plays audio. Never noticed that until you asked this question, and that would make this so much better. I left in a hurry from home this morning and didn't put a watch on (talk about a weird feeling not having something on my wrist), but I will check that tonight when I get home from work and let you know.
@@geraldlombardi5474 Try this. Open the Settings app on your iPhone > Tap General > Scroll down and select AirPlay & Handoff > Tap the toggle next to Handoff to the Off position. I have an iPhone 11 I use for work, but I don't pair it with anything. I will try this tonight with my watch, as well if that doesn't work for you.
@@Milledge.Austin also i show the watch connected to my bluetooth twice once with three characters and then another with the same three characters with an additional five characters, the first being an underscore...
If you're wearing this and get in your car, will your phone still link up with your car, or would you have to disable the watch somehow? Do the "health" functions still work if you don't pair the watch? Mainly interested in heartrate and maybe steps. Thanks for a good review!
I’m not sure if there is something that tells these devices when to let another take over, but my experience has been that my truck’s stereo has had no problem taking over to play music while wearing the watch. The step counter and heart rate still worked without being paired, but I feel the step counter might be a tad sensitive. To be fair, the Fitbits my wife and I have owned have also had times of being too sensitive and inaccurately count steps no matter what we’ve done for calibration. Just as a comparison .
I do t personally have the Stinger. I have the Crusader, the Shield and the Totality. Working on finding the time to talk about all three of those in a video.
Yes PLEASE do a review video or something that gives a legit recommendation for the Stinger.....I was thinking of getting one so would like an opinion on wether or not it's worth it. Thanks @@Milledge.Austin
Thank you! I look forward to seeing how they compare. And yup. I live in Augusta and had a friend go this year, so I put in a little request. Been twice on the day of the Par 3 contest and loved it.
I have the same watch, I returned the first one I received because I couldn’t see any text in the text screen it only said empty. The company replaced the watch without issue But the replacement is exactly the same I was wondering if you know how to set the watch or app or phone to use this feature?? Thx NJ Steve
What phone are you using? It is supposed to be as easy as pairing and then pairing in the app. On the version I now have, you go to “Device”>”Push Notifications” and then you select which notifications push from the phone to the watch.
I have a feeling that it very well could be a case of another company actually makes these and then sells them to smaller groups to let them slap their logo on it and choose their price. For half the price, I would definitely give it a shot to see.
Don't buy from the lexium store. Spent a week trying to return it because I didn't like the appearance of it when I received it. Didn't even take it out of the box. They refused to let me return it
Depends on what type of phone you have. If it's Android, if you click on "Connection", then click "Bluetooth" (don't hit the slider to turn it off, just click the title), then go to the gear icon next to the device you want to "mute," you can turn off audio and/or calls to that device and get just texts sent to it. iPhone has proven problematic. I've tried several different things with my work iPhone 11 and just cannot get it to work the same as my Galaxy S9.
Upon receiving my watch, immediately I was dissatisfied with the watch quality and the watch's operating software. The OS seems very dated. The Bluetooth connectivity seems to work fine at least. I contacted customer service and kindly explained my dissatisfaction with the item and that it was still brand new and unused, and that I would just like a refund. Upon filling in their return request form, they promptly denied the request, stating it didn't fall under their 1 year warrantee agreement. This company apparently has no concern for their customers satisfaction. I basically wasted $108 on a watch that I'll never take out of the box again. I'm sure it'll make someone's day at Goodwill...
I agree, they are total crap, and customer service sucks! I didnt even get my free flashlight i was supposed to get and i probably would have used that more than i will every use this watch!!
Bought this watch and not a fan. The advertisement says a lot about it and shows features on it but didn't have the same scrolling features as was shown. Mine definitely doesn't, hmmm. You have to dwnld the app to program the watch and as it said on the ad that you can text from the watch, it fn does not! Disappointed on that feature. Spending $108 bucks on this thing while other smart watches of the same price have more to offer, not worth it. My last smart watch that was half the cost had talk to text, I might just go back to that. Everything else on this watch works fine and looks great but it didn't fit my need. It might work for yours, this is just my opinion. Don't be sensitive!
Not sensitive at all. This video is my opinion of the watch and how it does what I want/need. Definitely agree after using it more and looking at what they promised that it falls short of some claims (that I then didn't really care about).
As in if it goes to sleep? It should be as simple as moving your wrist. Pressing a button works, too. If it has gone completely try pressing both buttons together for a few seconds.
@@Milledge.Austin Yeah, like when it goes to sleep. I ask because I saw another smart watch that moving your wrist didn't work and you had to press a button.
So it don’t text? Great! 😢 I wanted one just that’s different than my Apple Watch. I am tired of the same square watch with no new look other than getting a new band. I liked the look of this watch but if it doesn’t send text messages and it doesn’t access your full contact list, I’m out. I just can’t chew down the cost of a Galaxy or Pixel watch just to get a round one. It’s not worth it and FitBits are just obnoxious to me.
I bought the first 2 Samsung watches to match my phones and was disappointed by how quickly the batteries lost the ability to hold charge. I bought the Crusader as well, my only dislike is that I can't install Facer and add the faces I already have.
Very glad to hear that. I definitely think for the price, it does what most people want/look for in a smart watch. I do wish it was more compatible with certain apps for other watches, but in general it’s pretty solid.
I haven’t been willing to really test the durability to this point because I only have the one… but, in the name of science… maybe I just end up testing it.
Wife bought me one for Fathers Day and I’m on day 5 now (got it Saturday) & I’m a Diesel mechanic. So far so good, haven’t beaten but, I’m working with it like I do my GShock & have showered with it & washed my hands, etc. with no issues as far as the water goes.
@@dsdiesel8667how long did it take for the watch to arrive in the mail. I hear it takes some people over a month just to get it. Also is it fully water proof? Or can it just handle sweat and a little bit of rain?
I have switched out the Crusader for their newest model, the Shield, and it has a calculator but not a hydration tracker. I will double check on the Crusader this evening when I get home.
@@Suttdog I checked the Crusader last night and it does not have a calculator, but like I said, the Shield, which I have upgraded to and have been testing for about a month, does. No hydration tracking in their app, though.
Don't believe that hype. This watch last NO WHERE NEAR 21 DAYS!!! MY FIT BIT LAST 4 WHOLE DAYS, AND YOU WILL HAVE TO CHARGE IT ON THE 5TH DAY. THIS WATCH WILL ONLY D O 3 DAYS! IT IS NOT WORTH IT! AND YOU CAN'T ANSWER TEXT MESSAGES! IT'S A GOOD WORK WATCH. I DON'T MIND IT GETTING DIRTY!
Not sure why you felt the need to switch over to all caps, but I definitely got 4 days out of the watch a few times. It all depends on settings, just like with phones, drones, cameras. If you have it set to on all the time, or at every movement, it's going to drain the battery quicker. Also, as I used it more and more, I was less concerned with responding to texts using a phone, and being able to glance at them to decide it they needed an immediate answer, or could wait.
Someone in another video says this watch monitors blood pressure. Is that true. It’s the main reason I bought my Apple Watch but it doesn’t monitor BP. It dose however monitors Beats per minute. Not the same. Can anyone say?
I would not say this monitors blood pressure. I feel the heart rate has been decent, but it’s not really worn in a way that I would trust a blood pressure measurement from it.
I JUST GOT MINE... FIRST SMART WATCH... WHAT APP IS RECOMMENDED FOR THIS WATCH. I CHARGED MY PHONE, HAVE TRIED A FEW APPS BUT CANT GET THE WATCH TO POP UP TO PAIR... ANY GUIDENCE WOULD BE GREAT... THANKS
I have actually gotten away from using it simply because I stopped wearing a watch for a while, but currently I switch between this and my Fitbit Inspire 2. Depends on the day. For me, it still does what I want. I don't need a lot of fancy apps on the watch, I just want to be able to see who texted me and read the text real quick to determine if it's important, and I like to have accurate time and semi-accurate steps (honestly, even Fitbits fail at this so often). I am debating doing a durability test on it. I have a second one that they sent me for another Billo ad, so I might try running it over with my truck, dropping it, hitting it... things that could test its strength now that I have another.
@@Milledge.Austin Thanks for responding. I'm trying to find one that's tough and reliable being I do structural welding. Really don't care about the health function features like you was saying all I need a watch is for a in btw control for my phone and bt earbuds and be tough and reliable. Wish they had a category for smartwatchs called not a fitness smartwatch.
@@jesterclown86 Right? I know there was someone on here that said they had an Apple Watch that fell 4 feet while working construction and it shattered, so now they use this and seem pretty happy with it. Guess I know one that is getting run over by an F-150 XLT this evening.
I'm looking for a decent smart watch that's affordable. If a watch costs more that $200.00, I would just buy one with an actual movement, preferably an automatic. 🤔
What type of display does it have, is it an OLED? Dose it have a Display Always on mode where after a few seconds it changes the display to a simplified black and white version of the watch face With the 7 day run time is that with the display always on? The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has a Theater Mode where it does the same thing, turns off the always on display, sounds, vibration and raise wrist to wake.
I have not been able to find a "Display Always On" mode that makes it look like a Fitbit with the simple time. I don't believe it's an OLED. About the only thing that it does have that you asked about is it has a Theater Mode.
I’ve never compared it to an actual cuff, but I do t believe it can be very accurate since the sensor isn’t really where you would take blood pressure normally.
It might be missing a few other things some people would be wanting, but for the price and what it is, I don’t think the average person could complain.
Thanks for the evideo. I bought the watch. I like the watch but am disappointed in the linked software, VERY limited watch faces. Rather than the included/suggested software, Can I use "Watchfaces" or another controller to manage the watch?
What phone system are you using? On my Android I get a lot of different watch faces if you scroll down to the bottom, there is a way to go through everything. They do have a lot of hokie, crappy, silly ones, but I have found quite a few that I like. But yeah, I would be curious to see if you can import more.
@@davidtrammell7988 yup, there are a lot under the final tab. A bunch of seasonal ones, a bunch of variations of the same ones as far as colors go, and some that are a little odd.
@@davidtrammell7988 After loading 4 faces I found I could only change out one from then on. Further, the watch would only communicate with the dedicated app and I could not access any of the "Thousands" of watch faces generally available. Furthermore, the BP sensor reads about 20 points off consistantly. I tried to contact the seller through their web interface several times and never got a response. I would not buy this watch again.
Unless they send me one, I don't think I will. I just happened to be sent the Luxium Crusader for another project and liked it, so I shared my thoughts on it. I'm not really looking to spend $135 on a watch right now.
Pretty sure it can’t. Not sure what the other apps it can run are. Never heard of Strava or Trailforks, but guessing from your profile pic it’s riding related?
In the original video I was using a Samsung Galaxy S9, but I have upgraded to an iPhone 14 Pro and am using that with Luxium's newest watch in this lineup.
Bluetooth on my Samsung galaxy phone was awesome, until the SO CALLED updates. As soon as the updates started , Bluetooth immediately started unpairing right in the middle of calls , switching from video to calls , or just randomly unpairing . And calling Samsung never fixes it . Bluetooth gets awesome again when you buy a new phone and stays good for 6 months, until they want you to buy another phone. Updates/ problems/ purchase/ none . Not buying anymore new phones . I'll find the apps causing the problems and shut them down before I buy another phone. It's definitely planned obsolescence.
I never noticed anything terrible to that extent, but before I switched over to my iPhone I had noticed extremely decreased speed and workability across my Samsung. It’s all about the money.
It does not, and I was ok with that. Haha. I don’t want my wrist vibrating for every little thing. Just phone call and text was annoying enough sometimes.
Looks like you’re a golf guy.. does this watch have a gps add on or do any golf apps work with it? Website mentions 50+ apps so not sure if that’s 3rd party apps.
Not too much of a golf guy. I live in Augusta, so I obviously love the National and that spectacle, but not really a golfer. As for GPS and golf apps, it would honestly surprise me if it did. I know it doesn't have any reliable GPS on it.
How strong was the vibrate notification. I have a different one and often don't feel it on my wrist when working so still missing calls and texts that are important
I feel like it is pretty good. So good to where I disconnected it from my phone one day because I was getting a bunch of texts from a buddy to set up a shoot, and I wanted some peace and quiet. I have missed a couple, so it's not like old-school Nokia phone rattling off the table, but I feel like it's stronger than my Galaxy S9 sitting in my pocket.
Nice try. I actually used it on a daily basis until they sent me the upgrade. Now, I use that one on a daily basis and love it. It does exactly what I want it to as far as telling time, showing me texts so I can decide if I need to answer them, tracking steps. I’m clumsy and have knocked my wrist against my desk and door frames on multiple occasions with no issues.
Yes, you can read texts, but not respond. You would need to pick up the phone (tested on both iPhone 11 and 14) to respond, but it will push the text to the watch.
Pair the watch with your phone via bluetooth, then pair it again in the app (FitCloudPro or FitCloud). I just updated my time based on the time change.
@@lazbenet9262 I appreciate it. I won’t be able to test this until Wednesday as I’m off on a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp, but as soon as I get home, I’ll download the app to the work phone and will see what I can figure out.
No, the phone needs to be semi close. Also, not sure how much someone wants to listen to music through it. It has a decent speaker for calls and some music, but not as good as earbuds or a real speaker.
@@Milledge.Austin sorry I wasn’t very clear I meant like could you connect AirPods to it and play music on ur AirPods but through the watch and without the phone.
I have honestly tried multiple things that I have seen suggested and nothing is working for sending texts. I can call, even dial a number, but everything I do for voice-to-text just falls on deaf ears. Long holding a text, nothing. "Ok Google," "Hey Google," nada. Not 100% ready to give up on it happening, but it's definitely starting to seem more like it's just good for viewing a text and then responding from the phone.
@@kellycouri3662 correct. I have tried everything I could to figure out if you can send, but it looks like just receive and read, as well as receive and make calls.
As in sleep with the watch, or put it to sleep? Just want to make sure I answer correctly. I will say, I personally never sleep with a watch on, not even my smaller fitbit. Just not comfortable for me. This one is even bigger, so I wouldn't use it for that. Might test it out, but I have a feeling it'll be the worst night of sleep for me ever.
@@jacobdrennen9702 unfortunately not. Their customer service hasn't been the best. If you have an Android, it works better than with an iPhone. I tried pairing it with my work iPhone 11 and some of the features and basics didn't seem to work near as well.
How come you didn't speak on actual important features to health freaks and who want to keep tabs on their health status. Like for example: heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels etc.. I mean, those are some of the major features they mention onn heir website. Yet you did even bring them up. I'd love to hesr how accurate the blood pressure feature is and the oxygen levels reader and the the heart rate monitor also... Thanks!
I guess the best answer is I don’t have a way to test those. I don’t own a blood pressure monitor and honestly don’t know where to start on oxygen levels. I will say the step counter feels a little better than the 2 Fitbits I have owned. I thought I had those calibrated properly, but I always could “cheat” on moving, whereas this watch has seemed harder to fool. As for heart rate, either I have calmed down a lot or it gets a reading and sticks with it. I also haven’t really been like, “Man, I feel winded, let’s check to see how it looks on the watch.”
