A two-day, one-night trip to Ranthambore, including two wildlife safaris, can cost you anywhere between Rs. 5,000 to 12,000, depending upon your group size, the mode of transport, choice of the safari vehicle, and the hotel you stay in.
The first thing is to decide how do you want to reach Sawai Madhopur. People from Northern parts of India like New Delhi, Jaipur, etc., prefer driving to this national Park. A round trip by road with 4 people from Delhi will cost you around 5,000 in fuel and another 850 in Toll taxes.
One can also take the train directly to Sawai Madhopur, which is less than 5 km from the Park. The two-way AC Compartment train ticket can range from 1200 to 1500 per person.
Another option is to fly to Jaipur Airport and take a cab from there directly to your hotel in Sawai Madhopur. This option is best suited for people from Southern parts of India.
After you reach Sawai Madhopur, you need a hotel for a night. Now there are multiple hotel options depending upon your budget ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 per night for two people. This aspect of cost is variable and depends totally on your preferences. Simply go to any hotel booking website and choose the best option. A piece of advice here is to call the hotel before booking and ask for a better deal if available. If they have available rooms, you might get a good deal like a complimentary extra meal or a spa.

Go watch the reviews and decide for yourself which one will best suit your needs. After the hotel, comes the third and most important part of your Wildlife Experience - The Safari Booking. This is where a lot of tourists lack the information and fall for the agents who charge double the money.
Now make a note of this, YOU DO NOT NEED AGENTS to book your wildlife safari in Ranthambore. Another advantage of self-booking is that you can choose the Safari Zone. Not all zones are good for sighting a tiger, and if your want to actually spot one, booking a core zone increases your chances, if not guarantees it. An agent will never tell you in advance which zone you will be going to. The per-person cost for a three-hour safari in any zone is around Rs 650 for a Canter and Rs 1,050 for a Jeep.

If you are tired after travel and do not want to get your jeep released yourself, you can use the help of agents. Simply ask your hotel reception for assistance and they usually do it for you at a nominal additional cost of INR 100 per person.
From whichever part of the country or the world you are coming from, you must aim to reach Sawai Madhopur around 12-1 in the afternoon. Most hotels have the check-in time as 1 but they usually let you check-in earlier if there are rooms available. Check-in at your hotel, freshen up, have lunch and get ready for the first safari. The safaris you need to pre-book are an evening safari on the day of your arrival and a morning safari on the next day.
This way, you will save on your hotel cost as well as be able to enjoy both morning and evening safaris. The next morning, you will be back before 10 which gives you enough time to have breakfast and pack your things for departure. Around noon, leave for your home town. If you wish to stay for more than a day, which a lot of people usually do, just repeat the itinerary for the extra days. If you are there for multiple days, you can skip a safari and utilize the time to visit the Ranthambore Fort or the famous Ganesh Temple.
