Budgie, next to Queen and Judas Priest, is the band which did not release the same sounding album. Maybe they were controversial for their time, but after years the music defended itself. I remember a concert in August 1982 played in Katowice in "Spodek". It was so loud and noisy there, I don't remember correctly but there were about 15 thousand people, even the party proletarians and militiamen took off their jackets after some time and went dancing together with the audience! To the rhythm of Napoleon BonaPart One and Two, Panzer Division Destroyed or phenomenally played Breadfan. Budgie is a legend, especially in Poland, this band gave us freedom and strength in the fight for a free homeland. R>I>P Burke.

awesome 10th album from in my opinion the most underrated rock band of all time budgie. a band from wales i love all 11 of their studio albums. some people say this album was their downfall but i think it is real good. they tried something a bit different. it works for me, makes me think of asia a bit and that ain't a bad thing. just an awesome album for an amazing underrated 3 piece band.

Asia SUCKED :)
@markrago7217
@markrago7217 4 года назад
@@Mile0Park How did Asia suck? Sure, they were sterotypical 80s prog pop/yacht rock, but they are the only band I want to hear play such faux genres. Wetton, Palmer, Howe, and Downes are all prog legends. Sure they didn't sound as good as King Crimson, UK, ELP, or Yes, but few did. If their worst crime was being shamelessly commercial ( and only releasing one really solid album) I can think of suckier bands.
@markrago7217
@markrago7217 4 года назад
Yeah Budgie was pretty solid. I wouldn't necessarily call them innovators or "leaders" as another commenter gushed, but they were a unique, tasteful blend of fast paced blues rock like Led Zeppelin, heavier protometal like Black Sabbath or Uriah Heep with hints of prog rock and jazzy balladry, and a humorous approach to lyricism and album art similar to Blue Oyster Cult. This isn't among my favorite albums, it was a bit tame and poppy compared to Power Supply and (to a lesser degree ) Night Flight. Those two, along with Impeckable and In For the Kill are my favorites. Make no mistake, this album isn't trash, it's actually more akin to their 70s style, blending heady ballads and lush atmospheres with a few heavier, no nonsense rockers.

Wow, I had forgotten how much "Truth Drug", wails and Rocks, especially the solo in the second half, check it out @ 7:07 . I have every Budgie album, and I would have to say this is just what they evolved into in the early 80's. This album has 4 or 5 jammin tunes that would blow away the hair metal from that period. Early 70's Budgie still rules, though..

No doubt in my mind this was the pinnacle of their song and music writing careers song on here is astounding! all songs were dealing with actual and human issues of the day and if I'm not mistaken Flowers in the attic was from a movie that was based on a true story of a mother who left her children with her mother who was poisoning them because they came from a father who wasn't up to her standards.

I would not go as far as to say I hate this record but I certainly think its their weakest. Way over produced and the keyboards were an unnecessary addition that and finds the band going in directions that don't suit them. Best Tracks: Finger On the Button, Hold On to Love, Give Me The Truth Worst Tracks: Young Girl, Alison(Possibly their LOWEST Point) The rest of the album doesn't rise above OK Of the three with John Thomas this is the worst of the three.
