This was the second time I saw Budgie Live. The first time I saw Budgie was at the Klubfoot in Hammersmith 1987, not long after I had emigrated from New Zealand to witness true Classic Rock bands. I attempted to record the concert on a Sony Pro Cassette Walkman, but I got frisked and the Recorder was confiscated by Security. I was not aware that the Letchworth 99 gig was their first gig in 11 years, so it was a special moment, and thankfully, the Recorder was in my possession that night. A big thumbs up to Ray Cordell who took the photos on the night, and to my good friend and Head of Sabre Dance Fan club, Simon Wilson, who no doubt had a big part in getting this comeback into fruition.
