I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I just got a budgie from a friend who could no longer care for it. She ( the owner ) is a smoker and I noticed that the budgie's breathing is very fast and his tail bobs up and down. The budgie otherwise looks to be in good health. Could his fast breathing and tail bobbing be a result from the second hand smoke? and is there anything that a Vet could do for him?

Tania, I can do remote evaluation and adjustments etc if you follow the procedure detailed in the subfiles of goldcoastbirdvet. I hope you find it and contact me. his breathing could be partly due to 2nd hand smoke. Yes, a holistic bird specialist vet could probably help him!!!

Thank you for your informative videos. We have a parakeet who injured his leg. It is now healed but now he has tail bobbing and open mouth breathing, as well as trying to clear his nostrils by rubbing them on the bars/perches. No other symptoms. He eats mostly seed and millet as well as his minerals. We have been trying to offer other fruits and vegetables with on luck yet. I also placed some dried herbs in his cage - not sure if he ate many of them. Any advice as to what the cause could be?
