Liberia is safe now with a stable govt. why have they refused to go back home instead of suffering like this.
@MonibaKoliSMB

Stable? 😂 Liberian still has a long way to go, though the new president has done well. Many people do oppose leaving but it isn’t everyone. It’s just that most people are just unsure of Liberians economic stability and they have every right to be, because sometimes there are problems.

so base on what that Woman said. it means they were given money sometimes back to rent a house or room but some used it for a different purpose right?

Very sad situation! But just to ask did these people just come to Ghana? For all these years they still haven’t integrated? They still speak this Liberian broken English. Could that mean some of them came in recently? Liberia I believe is stable now, why are they enduring all these hardship?

@@broaikings9527 hmmm but interestingly I have had conversations with some Liberian people and they seem to have some bitterness for Ghanaians. Sometimes I feel very bad about it especially knowing Ghana was in to help when it was needed but now we are virtually becoming enemies. It’s sad!

Don't they have a Liberian Consulate in Ghana? If these people want to stay in Ghana, The Liberian government should acquire some land and put up some apartment houses for them. Liberia is no longer what it used to be. In a way they have themselves to blame. Those that did not want to go back to Liberia were supposed to integrate and not live in those structures.

I'm Liberian, our people is bringing shame to us. Why can't they go back home. The people of Ghana have try for them by giving each person 400 USD that alone can take them back home

You cannot live as a refugee forever, if you don't want to go back to Liberia fine but just improve yourself in Ghana.

What most people dont understand is that, some of these people dont even know Monrovia, some of them came from villages they cant even remember, some of them from different counties where they lost all their families even before going to Ghana for refuse, how can you tell such a person/ people to go back home, some of them dont even have families in liberia. I know alot of them who lost almost all their families, they dont even want to see liberia so those flash backs wont hunt them, some have no skills, no basic education, no families, no where to call home they can even return to. Most people wont understand because they are not in these people situation. I had a friend years back on the camp i have encouraged on numberious occasion to come home, he said andy"" all my people died doing the war, i dont even have uncles or aunties i can call my own, i came on the camp when i was only 11 years old. I dont even know anywhere in Liberia. Going to liberia to do what? Who do i know? What families do i have? Those were his exact questions to me, i was silent for a while . So alot of people dont understand, it is not easy at all on most of these people, im not speaking for all of them, but many of them in the situation my frieend told me about.

Tearing it down won't erase its nasty legacy. Liberians were treated like common slaves by Ghanaians at Buduburum
@KAY-nl4tf

Slaves? How many years since Liberia war. A refugee camp is a temporal settlement. Ivorians came the same way and they all left immediately the Ivory Coast civil war was over. Why don’t they go back or find permanent accommodation in Ghana. Why do they still want to be treated as refugees.
