I appreciate your analysis on Keon, but the bottom line is Josh Allen specifically wanted him, and I trust Josh’s opinion about what he wants in a receiver more than anyone else. He knows better than any of us.

I also think we are underestimating the impact that Samuel will have on this WR room. This guy has not had a QB playing at a Josh Allen level for any significant stretch of his career, if at all. I think Samuel will be as much of a target this season as Kincaid will be.

I actually think the fit in the pass catching roster is exactly what makes Coleman a better pick because he is different from every other player we have and you guys keep saying he isn’t like a particular player then that he is in terms of whether Allen can succeed against “this type of archetype”. Coleman is not similar to the players being referenced and therefore it is a moot point.

You guys need to go watch Keon’s interview with RG3 and hear him talk about how much he loves football and doesn’t even want to go to marti graw in New Orleans before you compare him to someone who told Josh no when Josh wanted to get extra reps in before the game.. it is disrespectful. The guy is on the interview saying he hates who we hate.. he will do what it takes to win. You are focusing too much on numbers and not heart
@Cover1
@Cover1 Месяц назад
We talked about his skillset and evaluation from tape, along with saying how the 40 time was misleading to his athleticism. I don't know how that is disrespectful. We also didn't compare him to Kelvin Benjamin, we said that wasn't accurate

I agree with ant that there was no disrespect to Keon in their evaluation. And I would also point out that heart and “want to” is not a substitute for skill and athleticism. But, I think your point is well taken when it comes to his work ethic and desire to be the best player he can be. Josh was raw and needed a lot of work when he came out. He worked his ass off to become the player he is today. Maybe that’s what Josh sees in Keon. A guy with great athleticism and size who could be great with some hard work at his craft.

Some of the best WR technicians just don’t mesh with a QB who extends plays and lives outside of the framework of plays. Being QB friendly with that type of QB is a big time strength of Keon’s. If Allen was a Brady type, I would hate this pick. Allen and Coleman are going to be so entertaining to watch. I love this pick. I understand some of the concerns though.
@josgood5412
@josgood5412 Месяц назад
I need to add that I don’t know crap. I just have a really good feeling that this strength of his will be hugely amplified because of the QB he is playing with.

Bishop will be used like poyer was when Milano went down imo. I think they got comfortable with 3 safeties on the field. I also have faith that the coaching staff will coach him up to be able to be more rangy. Usually buffalo dont draft guys who cant be interchangeable on defense especially in the back half. I have less trepidation about him than any other pick there is. I wanna see what we get out of the kid from troy

Clearly, they saw Coleman as the best fit for the types of balls that josh can throw. A lot of the pass breakups on his college tape seem to have been due to corners knowing that he will be getting the ball and the ball fluttering and taking forever to get to him, giving corners plenty of time to adjust their positioning and break on it. Josh's ability to throw darts that travel 20+ yards in the air could match well with his skillset (think of the TD pass to Kumerow).

I dont have anything against coleman. My ideal scenario was trading back and taking legette and up untill 11:58 pm it looked like it was going to happen then POP. Beane blew that thing apart and i was a little ticked off😂. Stayed awake for that damn. I hope he does great for us. We shall see.

What are your grades for the Bills draft and for each individual pick? How do you feel about the class and team overall? Let us know in the comments
@claudepuis1178

Not that anyone cares about my numbers, but here goes: Coleman 8/10 - I liked Coleman. I preferred AD Mitchell, but those 2 were the last X types until Jermaine Burton(who, i'm guessing wasn't on Bills board) & Javon Baker(who I would have been happy if they traded up in the 4th & got him). Bills preferred Coleman & there were reports that Patriots would take him at 34, so fine. Bishop 7/10 - I would have rather traded up a few spots for Bullard. He is a playmaker, but he's not a FS. I felt Bullard could play both SS & FS. Dewayne Carter 5/10 - Good player, I wasn't so big on him & i'll be suprised if he's more than a backup. Javon Baker, Taylor-Demerson, Troy Franklin, Bortelini, TJ Tampa were still on the board. Ray Davis 4/10 - Not about the guy, he's fine. Couldda got an rb later. How different is he from Vidal, or Isaiah Davis, Estime, or Tyrone Tracy, or even Frank Gore Jr. It's the other positions that were still there. I would have loved Malik Washington, Mo Kamara, Brennan Jackson, Austin Booker, Dj James. Hell, take a stab at your favorite WR....Johnny Wilson or Flournoy, etc.

I also wish we had gotten Baker in the fourth, but I also understand why they grabbed our center of the future instead. Also, I think you’re sleeping on Carter a bit. He will be at the very least, a solid rotational player starting this season.
@Cover1
@Cover1 Месяц назад
@@roberts1918 Yeah I still wanted Javon Baker even after the Keon pick. And I agree Carter will be a good rotational player. He just needs to clean up some run game pieces. I rank him higher as a pass rusher/disruptor than consistent run defender based on how he gets displaced and can be late to shed
@roberts1918

@@Cover1 It's always difficult to assess how much a player can improve once he gets some real coaching at the NFL level. But, I am the eternal optimist! LOL! Thanks for the response and I very much enjoy hearing your insights.

Listen i said funchess on draft night. And if you look at film funchess was a big guy decent quickness and athleticism not great straight line speed good hands and rac but could not seperate. I hope he is really good. But i personally would have let someone else find out if he was good.

Keon needs to be coached up. I feel his entire season at FSU was a waste as far as his development is concerned. Keon has a high ceiling and I expect him to improve greatly in his route running, in his release and he will be a huge red zone target this coming season. On top of that, his blocking will prove invaluable in our run game as the weather turns crappy.

Jordy ran 4.55 but 1.54 10 yard split. Deceptive game speed. Only can hope Keon can master the back shoulder like Jordy & Rodgers.

You don't see the fit because th Bills ain't had that. The offense will be like an old school NFC team. The Bills are turning into a smash mouth team. The Bills been soft and that's why they haven't gotten pass the divisional round. All those past so-called route runners/separators, been null in void in the playoffs. They got their separators, bit now they got enforcers. Got to change ya lens fellas
