Very nice, I still get jealous of the .25 ACP testers. I have not had the opportunity to even shoot one before. I will say "reliable", as the bullet weight momentum, the energy and priming is all going to be a lot more reliable than .22 LR. Looks like tumbling but after 9", hitting a bone would cause faster tumbling so I think that 850 FPS in the real world is probably twice as good as the stuff much slower.
The only big turn off is that only a few companies make 25 pistols today. I think the extra velocity would go better in a medium other than gel. I think their 60 grain offering I tested was a little better.
@@professorpewpuew Yeah, I have not been able to find a .25 ACP pistol in my area. Before I traded my 21A I had debated getting a .25 barrel and magazine for a 'conversion' but I never did it. I wish that the old Colt Vestpocket .25's were still made, i'd even take the Taurus Beretta knockoff .25 but I think those are no longer made as well.
@@GunSam Taurus makes a lot of good pistols but their version of the Beretta was NOT a good one. Crazy heavy trigger and very poor reliability. My Baby Brownings are 100% reliable and well built. My Old Beretta model 20 was a gem I wish I still had. The Titan (Tanfolio) I had was a nice reliable 25. Even the Raven I bought used in the 90's for $25.00 was 100% reliable but made of Zamac. Maybe take a look online
Love the 25 ACP tests! I would guess in actual flesh we might see a little difference in penetration between standard ball and this higher velocity ball ammo. The 25 ACP isn't as powerful as most other common self defense calibers, but it does penetrate flesh well enough to hit the vital organs.
I think this is a good simulation for muscle tissue, but I would be willing to bet that extra velocity will help if you hit bone. I hope to find a way to test that in the future.
I’ve become much more interested in small, convenient, pocket pistols. .25 ACP has a lot of historical use but it doesn’t hold a lot of attention today. Great video and thanks for sharing!
The 1968 GCA banned the import of alot of the quality 25s on the market and the American manufacturers started putting out alot of junk that was not worth it. The 25 has a reputation for being junk, as result. I do like the little round, but there aren't many new pistols made for it today. But if you can find a Seecamp 25, it is great for Texas ;)
@@professorpewpuew I thought long and hard about getting a Seecamp in .32 ACP and I still want a .32 ACP pocket gun. Ultimately, I think it would end up more of a novelty gun than a serious carry piece but you gave me the pocket carry bug and it's constantly biting me!
Decent penetration. Although I'm surprised Buffalo Bore didn't make them a little hotter. I guess there is only so much you can do with a 25acp load. Still it is a super fun round to shoot!
I am surprised too. The Aquila load I tested did better. Maybe, this would be better against penetrating solid objects that simply doesnt show up in gel.
Sí son mejores que la mayoría de las balas del mercado. La mejor es una bala búfalo de 60 grains de plomo a 920 pps que es capas de penetrar 14" de gelatina al 20%.-
@@professorpewpuew yeah the rimfire ammo reliability issues would always linger in the back of my head if I carried one , although ballistically I have a preference for the .22
I purchased a Beretta 950BS from gunbroker and am very happy with it. The 60grain hard cast from Buffalo Bore is the only round I carry in it. Sometimes when you can't carry a gun, a micro gun is much better than nothing. When it's hot and you're wearing shorts and a t-shirt, it's small and easy to conceal with a pocket holster. One nice advantage about small calibers is that you can shoot them very rapidly because of the lack of recoil. I don't understand the people that dismiss .25acp. Are we in some kind of power contest? Also I would think that most people getting shot with it would either try to run away or stop trying to attack you. Normally i carry a .380 and sometimes a 9mm in winter.
We carry a Beretta 950bs,currently loaded with the aguila 50gr fmj...the hollow points in this caliber are problematic concerning expansion...this buffalo bore ammo looks good, and we might give it a try...the caliber is anemic, but the guns are small, light, with low recoil, a big plus for us senior citizens...
