Love the vintage postcard tour of an historic city!

That beautiful Erie County Savings Bank building was torn down to make room for that rectangular, uninspired Main Place Mall! That was the most ridiculous blunder that Buffalo city planners ever have made! It is a shame until this day! The Erie County Savings Bank building was the most beautiful architectural masterpiece that this city has ever known! The morons of that day didn't realize what they had!

The building at 15:50 looks like lots in Europe. All these at a time gold miners lived in tents?

This was a very good presentation. The narrator should try to get correct pronunciations before recording.

Thank you for the tour. I am in Syracuse, NY which demolished a major part of their history. I am going to make a day trip and use your tutorial.

Fascinating narration -- you really know your subject! I would love to take this tour. Do you have a list or step-by-step guide? I will probably watch it again so that I can take notes.

They tore down the century theater, not for a skyscraper, but for an Arby's which has been closed for 30 years with an old faded for leave sign, half fallen off. Nothin.

Very well done, love it ,we have great architectural history and it's totally interesting. . However maybe you could've talked a wee bit slower...? (We do talk very fast in the Buffalo area it's been documented.)I had to go back a few times and listen again..

Did you notice all the street lights and POWER lines and poles in the pics from before 1879???? Now that's what you should be talking about not regurgitating what they tell you on Wikipedia......... Also a horse and buggy society could never build those buildings, never.

I’m originally from Buffalo and couldn’t agree more. Almost all of the amazing buildings wear torn down and the true history, whatever that was was erased... an advanced civilization of some sort was here in America.

Extraordinary claims require extraordiary evidence. Im sure when the horse population was at its peak they only had them as pets is what your saying... My gosh how was rome built?? Ooh video and pictoral evidence of horse and buggies at the construction sites...naaah bruh...it was something else but not sure what. But I will first conclude that everyONE is wrong and then sort out what I think really happened later... Lmfao!!!

Buffalo was the first city in world-history powered by electricity.....all generated at nearby Niagara Falls via generators from the falling waters of Niagara Falls.... the AC current revolution started by Tesla ...that allowed LONG distance transmission of power....was well and truly underway, and killed DC alternative for municipal power.

Quite a few errors in pronunciation. Ell-i-kit, not Ell-i-cot. Shea's is pronounced Shay's, not She-ah's. I would guess this fella's not from Buff-lo, lol.

Weirdly, although I'm not even American (I'm British) I find the narrator easy to understand and not particularly fast talking.😂🤣 Is this a Buffalo accent? It doesn't sound much like New York. 😉👍

"Statler" is pronounced with a short-A.....not a long-A. Also SHEAS is pronounced SHAYS.... you did a good job reading script but could have done a bit more homework so you'd come off more like a local.

William McKinley did not speak at "the opening" of the Pan American Exposition. The exposition opened in May of 1901. McKinley was shot in September when greeting a line a people at the Temple of Music. His wounds were not life-threatening. He died from an infection he got from the ineptness of the doctor who ripped him wide open looking for the bullet.
@achild6586
@achild6586 4 года назад
No. The bullet did kill McKinley. You’re mixing McKinley up with Garfield, who died in 1881.

Great tour of old Buffalo, but narrator Benjamin A. Vazquez is downright awful. Couldn't hear most of what he said. What a shame. He also forgot to mention one of the most celebrated structures nearby - the Larkin Administration Building by Frank Lloyd Wright - which was tragically demolished in 1960.
