San Angelo Texas has a great Buffalo Soldier Museum and a great assortment of different buildings and Parade grounds to visit. There is an elementary school on part of the Marching Grounds where I went to Grade School and a Small Church is part of the facilities Some of the apartments the Buffalo soldiers used while serving have been converted into nice and unique apartments

I have been a student of Buffalo Soldier history a long time. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and these troop did the brunt of the work in the Red River war and settlement protection in the Panhandle and West Texas. Hats off to the 9th & 10th cavalry and the 24th & 25th infantry! Hoorah for these brave patriots.

Do you know anything of the deployments of the 21st which merged with another regiment to form the 24 in 1869?

@William Keith i agree all American history should be taught to everyone no matter how damaging it is, the good and the bad. But until educators see fit to teach the history of these soldiers and many other African American units and accomplishments to all students, African Americans must learn their history either at home or by the elderly. It is a shame that it is this way, but think about this, how many war movies are made and how many of them have black soldiers featured, or any non-white soldiers featured very few.

SOME VIEWERS HONOR THE BUFFALO SOLDIERS: That is tantamount to the kkk honoring their wicked ancestors.. What the buffalo soldiers did was merely and extension of the evil. wicked , practices of their white masters. They aided their own enemy in destroying a people, my ancestors , who has never did anything to them.. One oppressed people killing another oppressed people , FOR ? For the same group that oppressed them both. And , the disgrace of it all is that they erect a statue to commemorate it all in kansas... Were they giving thanks to Mr. Lincoln for freeing the slaves , or was this a case of blind patriotism ? And they have the gole to insist that confederate statues be pulled down ... Wow.... what do you call that the word starts with an H

I love the idea of the heritage taught here. It seems to only be shown to black youth, but this is history and ideals that ALL American youth need to hear. This history of the valor of the Buffalo Soldiers is applicable to all Americans of whatever ancestry.

9:10pm I have an ancestor who was a Buffalo Soldier and received the Medal of Honor post Civil War, I'm concerned about him not being mentioned in your historic memoirs. His name was Emmanuel Stance. Can you please post any further information you have about him...I have found books in the library yet no mention on black sites

PLEASE Excuse the FLASHBACK: BUT WHILE Watching the posting of our colors preceding the swearing ceremony of Chicago’s first Black Female Mayor, them bring to mind one of our fallen comrade Of the 55 U.S. Military Soldiers returned by the North Korean government, as a goodwill gesture ONE is HOPED to be that of Sergeant; Milton Bailey of the 24th Infantry Regiment Combat Team, G-Company, 1st platoon 1st squad, aka DEUCE4 (and last unit of the original BUFFALO SOLDIERS) attached to the 25th Infantry Division, 1950/51 his death was witnessed by Private’ Curtis J. Morrow (Point-man) during their last reconnaissance patrol together, may he some day soon, RIP Fyi; the following video interviews are being conducted by; Mrs. Sharon Siegel, Freelance Journalist. ( VIDEO #1 of 3 ) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VUm8ckKkPw4.html Milton Bailey, Squad Leader-1st Platoon 1st Squad, G-Company Deuce4, KIA & MIA . hopefully amongst the 55? IT ALSO AMAZES ME OF HOW LONG IT’S TAKING THE DOD TO TO CONDUCT HIS DNA VERIFICATION? On behalf of a FORGOTTEN WARRIOR, still awaiting identity, so to RIP.

@matthew man, you must be kidding, what about the so called " five civilized tribes" who owned slaves, are they victims?
@mikeaskme3530
@mikeaskme3530 5 лет назад
@@danielshy9176 so the five civilized tribes do not own slaves, is that what you are saying? as far as Africans selling their own, you do know that Africa is continent filled with over 54 nations, and even back there it was filled with many kingdoms. So unless you will agree that Europeans are the same, and that all Europeans are responsible for the atrocities of the Holocaust, you just might want to revise your comment to something a little more coherent and intelligent.
@kperez-wq3iy

@daniel shy...Stop with the revised history. If the white man was so righteous why would he buy another human to later beat, starve, and sell their babies? White men knew Christianity. Africans did not.
